Hi everyone
Just home from a long-ish day of hitting the shops with dd, then visiting my mam. I didn't get away with a nsd this time, although I did spend less than the kids did so I'm happy with that.
Got fed at my mam's house and there's always good company there too so it's helped me to forget this horrid niggling headache I have that just won't go away today for some reason (tired I suspect)
Today I'm grateful for:
DD and her savvy shopping habits
Spending some time with my mam
Being at home in my jammies before 5pmNot giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

NSD no 18 reached today.
Dropped some baby clothes to a friend, donated from another friend (they don't even know each other, my friends are awesome). Was instructed we were not allowed in without Duncan.
Friend had put tennis balls on the edge of the coffee table as the baby has started crawling. Duncan spent his time trying to pull them off. :rotfl:
House has been cleaned thru, BF will be throwing the roast chicken in the oven for tea in a moment, and I'm relaxing with a cup of tea.
I am grateful for:
1) Nice clean house.
2) Friends
3) Delicious roast on it's way

Hi Turtles. I'm afraid I've dropped off the edge of the world this month on the thread. I seem to lose my posting mojo both here and on my diary for a while, which I think was a combination of SAD January and catching the lurgy again. I've just signed up for abundant's February NST thread in the hope of doing better.
I have managed to beat my target of 15 NSDs so far by one day however which is good news (the only positive thing about staying home from work with the lurgy I can think of is that you don't spend!).
Today I had a nice walk on the seafront, joined a local gym and went to Aldi to pick up some fruit and veg. Tomato sauce made with frozen roasted veg plus chickpeas to go with pasta for tonight's dinner and settle down to watch Homeland!
Gratitudes today:
- bracing walk on the seafront to blow the cobwebs away;
- finally getting my act together to join a gym;
- thanks that said gym is less than a quarter of an hou'r's walk from home as I don't have a car!
Will post on Tuesday what rules I have managed to keep to on the thread!
P.S. - Fmess - what a lovely thing to buy your three-legged dog so he can join his chums when you all go out! Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

NSD number 11 today, I am amazed I've had as many. I forgot a friends daughter's birthday today so will need a card and gift tomorrow and also need to pay for a months classed at the gym.
DS match cancelled this morning due to frozen ground but had a lovely walk with the dog in the sunshine and while DH was out this afternoon I have batched cooked and used up a load of chicken and some turkey mince.
I am worn out now and still feel like DH's cold is trying to catch me.
Today I am grateful for:
1) Winter sunshine
2) Time to prepare lots of healthy food to keep DH and I on plan
3) Paracetamol(sp) and the opportunity to get an early nightSave £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.750 -
Got somewhat lost this month, with real world drama, and phone troubles that made it tricky to post when away from home.
Grateful for:- Health. Keen to protect it while I can.
- DD still wanting to snuggle on the sofa when she is not 100% (she is mid teens, gotta grab the cuddles when you can)
- You lot! Hit my target NSDs this month, despite lots that might have disrupted it.Find inspiration reading even when I don't post. Am all aboard for next month!

Hi turtles,
Haven't posted much lately as I've been struggling to read and catch up on the thread but I'm still here! Think I'm just going to miss out on the target I set of 20 NSDs this month. I've also gone over budget on all my spends, especially entertainment as I've splashed out and got tickets to take DD to see her favourite band in the summer.
But things could be worse. I've made an overpayment to the cc and am waiting for around £140 cashback to be paid from Quidco. Also managed to sell a toy that came with other insurance for £60!! Have had a big clear out of DDs room and have listed loads for sale, with loads more still to list. Still need to do mine and DSs room too.0 -
Morning all,
Yesterday was a NSD, as will today and tomorrow. Giving me 12 out of 15 for the month which I think is disappointing.
Looking forward to February's challenge though as I'll be skint and have no option but to have NSD's!0 -
As we are almost at the end of the month ,I just want to say a VERY big thankyou to everyone on here for always being so positive. Im not a newbie to MSE but a newbie to this thread , and have to say I love it . Im a frugal person . always have been . but you lot have kept me motivated . and everything what everyone writes is always so uplifting and inspirational . You cant be down for long with so much kindness around every day .......and I don't think you even realize what a great help it is.. Im onboard the ship for feb (Brilliant writing ) if I start to sink throw me a life jacket and drag me back. Our slimming world group are knitting and crotcheting tiny baby things for our local premmy baby unit in feb, so we are all on board for that too. hopefully will keep me out of the biscuit tin and help towards my weight loss goal for this year too.
