Thanks Bob ended up having a sickie off work, first day off in 2 years, boss was actually nice when I rang in but I did cough all last week so he will know I am genuinely sick.
Cute little Duncan I would like a doggie again. Miss having furry friend.
dolly - think families can be awful at times. After my sister passed away half of her children were a nightmare and were the ones who never did anything for her when she was ill. I probably never speak to them again I was on breakdown mode with them, whilst the others were great. Good luck difficult times.
Sqeky -Sorry to hear about Mot Just think you will be safer more important than money.
I will have to lose a SFD as my library book is overdue renewed rest online but one is reserved. Pop down later if I feel up to it.
Grateful for my bed only just made it out of it.

Hello and
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Just back from holiday and will catch up during the rest of the day with what you have been up to so far. I'll just cheer from the sidelines this month as it's late already. But will post occasionally too and get back into the swing of things to fully join again next month.
This month will be beans on toast. Unexpected car bill (unexpected as in without warning/clearance from our mechanic that we're starting to loose trust in) of £600 and the holiday was more expensive too.
But we both have stopped smoking on new years eve and started to get fit.

Evening everyone,
And so another week begins
Today I am grateful for:
i) Our water cooler at work - free chilled H2O!
ii) The couple of hours of overtime I clocked today
iii) My morning routine which set me up for the day
I tried my meditation this morning and it was great. Am going to try and keep that going. Work flew by, and it's lovely as always to be home. I love my evenings in so much. Proud to have managed 2 x social engagements this month already - just 1 on 1s - no mass gatherings just yet.
Bobarella - Thanks for your well wishes! My mood shifted after a bit of mindfulness. Don't really know what caused it - but it drifted on by
Raphael - what a cute little fella! I want cuddles now!
Spekysquarehead Cars can be so expensive - and even though I try and budget in for wear and tear, it's always a bit of a sting when you get the bill. I guess try and focus on all the good stuff they do and how far they take you.
Calling - Hugs - get better soon ok!
Welcome home Thrifty! Happy 2017! Awesome job on the stopping smoking front too!⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

I am a crazy cat lady but even I can see how absolutely gorgeous little Duncan is. Awwww.
Speky - pain about the car.:(
Dolly - sorry to hear about the family. That's really tough...:(
Calling - hope you're on the mend soon.
Work is utterly mental but I don't feel resentful as I always used to do. I feel like I did when I first started there. A change is as good as a rest. I've bagged another nsd today and done all my daily jobs. Now just sitting with a cuppa and my feet up, relaxing and getting ready for an early night.
Today I am grateful for:
The new Head at school (I know that I've been grateful for this before, but I am double grateful today:j)
Batch cooking at the weekend saving me prep time tonight
Being able to trust dd - she's a good kid.Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Unfortunately I never found my phone so had to buy a new one. So annoyed at myself but these things happen.

dolly - you have my sympathies x we've had a major family spat the past year which got worse after my uncle died. His 5 siblings are now divided. And my aunt has got really spiteful - was meant to pick my nan up on Xmas day and take her to her house for dinner - but just didn't turn up. My nan is too proud to have called anyone that day to say she was alone at Xmas
calling - hope you feel better son x
thrifty - welcome back but booto car expenses. Great to hear you've stopped smoking though - well done
No spends today - reverse spends - walked to N*xt to take a top back of DS3's and got a refund. Avoided spending in B00ts next to it (did have a wander around in there though) and Tesc0 on the walk home. 80 mins walk :T
Foods all from stores inc steak pie and mash from freezer for dinner (mash was as a result of overcooking some of the potatoes on Xmas day when parboiling for roasties - good job I made loads!!) Also the last 2 not-that-nice pains au chocolate from the freezer for breakfast and hm soup for lunch with stock from the freezer and bendy carrots from the fridge (and lentils) One portion of soup left for tomorrow's lunch too
(and a small amount of mash and cauli cheese)
Things I am grateful for today:
* the rain held off until after we were back from our walk :T
* my children - all 4 have had good results/ achievements/ done something great today
* free money - £10 reward voucher from Debenhaaams received in the post and £10.05 cb claimed from tcb as amaz0n voucher today
* quick paying fleabay buyers - both my sales today had been paid for within 10 mins of auctions ending
Washing machine not being fixed (well - the engineer is calling - fingers crossed he can sort it) until Sat - sometime between 8am and 4pm.... bang goes my plans for Sat unless we get an early visit!

Today wasn't a NSD - popped into Asda on the way home to get more sandwich stuff and shampoo - ended up with YS haddock and pizza though so it wasn't all bad.
I'm trying to get into a routine after work so that lunch for the next day is ready prepared. Problem is that I've sat down now and I can't be bothered to move!!
1) I'm grateful for the fact I have a job that pays the bills
2) I'm grateful the flexible-ish hours - I left early today to pay in money at the bank
3) I'm grateful for the internet - I was inspired my a recipe I found online for fish stew that I tweaked for dinner and it was delicious.February Grocery Budget: £190.75/£350.00
