I finally have what I want to achieve this year: sell dad's house and house mum for life (just a small goal!!), and knit big sis a cardigan. It took me 12 months to knit one for dd, so I'm hoping she'll be patient...

Today I am grateful for dd's cartwheeling exploits, for a nature walk version of my route to the shops, for curried carrot and parsnip soup, for realising that my bike probably is ok to ride (after a little tlc, planned for this weekend) and for starting preparations for knitting big sis a cardigan.

  • Hi everyone
Just a quick check in from me as work is already very busy and I am very tired so another early night is in order.
I have been too busy at work to worry about spending, so NSD 3 and plenty mse stuff without even realising.
    Today I am grateful for
My new boss at work. So far so good.
Having pre prepared a load of packed lunches for work
Being able to get an early night and snuggle with ds

Only Grocery shopping so far. Within budget. Not counting the one item I bought yesterday. H&B was closed on 2nd when I went to get the single item on my shopping list.

Today I am grateful for -
    1) menu planning. Just eaten the last of the Christmas special food. Nothing thrown ou. Yay.

    2) My slow cooker. Has churned out 3 separate meals in 24 hrs resulting in satisfying freezer stuffing.

    3) My gym. Empty at 0630 this morning. Good workout which was just as well as my cough is vicious and I chickened out of running club tonight.
    Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18

    2. Food being made for me tonight
    3. A good day at work

Well running home from work certainly did not happen as I'm absolutely full of the cold :( Early night for me tonight and I'm on a late shift tomorrow so will be trying for a long lie. A NSD today so 3/18.

Today I'm grateful for a work meeting that I was dreading going quite well, balsam tissues and getting a few chores done around the house tonight so that I can have a relaxing morning tomorrow.

    Hi turtles,

Reporting another NSD here, making 3 so far. Took breakfast, lunch and healthy snacks to work and resisted the temptation of cake brought in by a colleague.

Today I am feeling grateful for:
    - a colleague dropping hints that my contract will be extended
    - my son finding his 'lost' school tie before I bought a new one
    - willpower to stick to 2 days of healthy eating so far

X_raphael_xx- your birthday present sounds perfect! No excuse not to enter lots of races this year, then?!
We have a few regular races, we usually do a 10k in Jan (not fit enough for it this year), 10k in March, half marathon in April, then a half, 10k around October time.
I used to run a lot but have been slacking the last few years and I would love to get back up to fitness. I'm aiming to get fit enough by April so I don't struggle the whole way around and can actually enjoy the race again.

Raphael - I think that your birthday present sounds pretty perfect and really thoughtful.
I think so too :D as well as a very lovely message, there is space on the first page for a 'before' pic (which was taken this evening) then a space for a photo at the end of each month. The idea is if I get disheartened I can flick back and see the difference and how I have come along.
I have taken many 'before' pics, but haven't reached the 'after' stage yet. This year I am determined.

  • Not a NSD today, but a planned spend, augmented only by Tea bags, half price. I was down to my last, stash of them from hotels etc amd they tasted a bit weird. Caffeine withdrawal not needed here right now, too much occurring!
No heating on today despite WFH. Hot bottles and a blanket, plus walking around whenever too chilly! Walked into town to meet friend tonight
Tidied up a bit around house (my think ahead goal!) and identified a couple of things to go to charity shop. Lounge is starting to look huge without all the clutter (or with clutter more concealed in boxes!). Found wallet with some cash in it that covers my tea bag spend. Booked DDs hospital appt. Need to do dentist appts tomorrow. Eek.
    Grateful for:
Altered meeting, didn't need to make a 3hr train journey today starting at 6am today
Lovely friend, always full of interesting advice and chatter (and did my eyebrows for me, I am rubbish at them)
Hot water bottles. I love them! Two on go tonight!

Hope all that are feeling poorly start to recover soon. Good luck wresting with the pennies!

Tomorrow's hitlist needs to include the expenses. I might strop a bit, about how fiddly it is, but I just need to do it! That's my evening sorted!
