    So far this week I've achieved
    NSD 3/15
    Charity - 2 carrier bags dropped off at a local shop. More piling up in front room waiting for next trip into town.
    Monthly bills & savings up-to-date.
    Posting - I find I spend so long following & reading threads I don't get round to actually contributing - this must change.

    Still need to do a food stocktake / monthly meal plan - so once dd1 has finished raiding cupboards for her return to Uni it will be done.

    2017 goals are still a bit fuzzy but will be listing on here soon so it can be a permanent record of what I would like to achieve this year.

    Grateful for family, friends and pets who have all made me smile this week.

    Morning all.

    I am hoping not to spend any money today. It is DS's birthday and he is having a friend to sleepover tonight, I have everything in for that and am going to get on with making him a chocolate fudge cake soon.

    Cold and dull here but dry which is a bonus.

    Bob - good news about your business enquiries.

  • Morning everyone,

    Sorry I've been absent from here so far this month. Yesterday was my third NSD however today (food shopping for visitors tonight) and tomorrow (MOT) won't be so I'll look to get aboard the NSD train next week and rack up a few in a row.

    I dropped a bag of some clothes that didn't fit me into one of the Bernardos big green clothes bins the other day too.

    Nice to see you back Speky Squarehead.

    Bad me ordered some walking boots online - red ones need to stand out more. In my defence got a sore big toe as my others were too small, lost my SFD for today. Good news even though I used my cc I made a payment immediately to it from reserves. Just hope they fit.

    Feeling still rough today, so much so ate 2 pieces of xmas cake already.

    Good things I have done today.
    Chased Quidco hopefully 10.95 reach my account in next few days
    Claimed a sainbobs voucher thanks to surveys
    Paid 20.01 off my debt - I shall just count 20 pounds to make life simpler.

    DH came home last night very shaken up. One of his students came to his office today in pieces as his housemate tried to kill himself. He spent a long time with him, and got him a lot of help, but that was the day over for him. Nothing more got done and he cannot put it out of his head. Lots of hugs needed, cos he thinks he is ok now he has talked about it, but still it is there behind his eyes and you can see him dwelling on it. He woke up sad this morning after a wretched night's sleep. Will keep a close eye on him without seeming to be keeping an eye on him.

    Today I am grateful for us all being healthy and alive and never having had to deal with any of this before.

    Be kind to yourselves today.

    fOxhOles That is tough one to handle. Glad the students got some help.
    Very sad there is much depression, loneliness about these days. Hope your dh can move on and doesn't dwell on it.

    Was out walking yesterday and just along my road I know so many people living alone and if I see them do have a chatter but unfortunately this time of year all stay indoors. Think you feel brighter if you get outdoors just for 20 mins.

    f0xh0les - poor student! How lucky for him though that he had your husband to help him through it.

    It was a NSD yesterday and looking good for today!

    Yesterday I was grateful for:
    • Lovely frosty morning on my walk to station;
    • Nice furry hat to keep head warm on said walk!;
    • Coming home to a lovely warm flat in the evening!

    fOxhOles - This happened to us some years ago (won't go into details) and it's devastating for everybody involved (yourself included) in all sorts of ways. Just be there and support DH. I know you will because you sound like a very caring person.

    Today the weather here was awful. Really wet and windy and C was going to meet some friends so I didn't go for a walk. I'm trying to encourage him to socialise with old friends more as I feel he's becoming quite introverted and needs to re-establish contact with them. They are all really nice people and constantly invite him to join them on outings. My feeling is that he is slightly depressed (although he was not the person concerned this is not unrelated to the above).

    Anyway since I stayed indoors I had another NSD (no 2) and had a really productive day house work wise. Looking forward to having a bolognese with my son tonight.

    Today I'm grateful for;
    C's caring friends
    Being out of the cold and wet
    Watching "The remains of the day" (on of my favourite films) on TV without interuption

    Take care everyone
    Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

    Hiya! It's FRIDAY :T

    Ahem...

    Today I am grateful for:
    I) The lovely people I get to work with
    ii) For the laughs I had today at work that brightened me up
    iii) For my daily meditation and the peace it brings me

    Today was a great day. I felt I accomplished a lot, laughed a lot, and feel brighter and more positive than I have in a while.

    Today = NSD number 5

    Used up all my home-made chilli this week - will make another batch of something over the weekend, and think about doing some meal planning.

    I have thought about my NY resolutions - and I'm tweaking one. One of them was to aim for a '6-pack'. Having once achieved in and lost it I feel like a constant failure not seeing it - silly I know. So, instead I'm going to just say I'll aim to go to the gym 2/week (down from 3), a nature walk (1/week) and walk up/down the stairs at work instead of use the lifts. That feels achievable! I'll aim to eat healthily during the week, allowing treats on Wed/Sat. My fitness/physique will as a matter of course improve. It feels better to focus on the process rather than the end result. I will edit my original post and signature to reflect these changes.

    I also said I'd structured in a £400 reward for my birthday in Nov if I achieved my goal. Instead - I will now 'earn' £3.00 per planned gym session/walk achieved. I have 133 potential sessions = a £399.00 potential CASH BONUS! I now have gold stars I am putting on my calendar which I can count up on my Birthday!!! :staradmin :D If there is any cash spare (from sessions not done), I'll donate it to one of the charities I already give to.

    Cleared some of the credit cards off - and should get below the 2K mark this weekend.

    Have a good evening folks!
