What small dfw things are you doing this week? w/c 14/11

Oh my word - I am just about managing to peep my head out of the pile of marking I've been buried under all week. It's still non stop, although (touch wood) I am managing to stay on top of my workload for the moment. 4 weeks to go...
Other than that - heating is on almost every day now - it's SO cold. We can manage with 30 mins in the morning and 3 hours in the evening. My new utility company is rubbish though so I don't know how I'm getting on cost wise. I'm pretty much counting down the days until I can switch again but that's another 10 months yet.
Minor spend day as I forgot my lunch and needed to buy a sandwich - other than that all is quiet in the CCL household. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Awwww come on KatyAnn junior! Where are you? You didn't hear the news about Trump and decide not to venture out:rotfl:
:rotfl::rotfl: It sounds like it doesn't it! Hurry up baby M! My husband thinks he must be pretty cosy in his "man cave" :rotfl:Debt free once - Back again | Current debt: £2479.50 - January 2025 | Make £2025 in 2025 #11 - £41/£20250 -
Yes come on Katy-Ann, we need a dfw baby to give us all something to smile about! Is this your first? Such exciting times.
Thanks Bob. Dont know whether I have said before but DS1 has Crohn's Disease. He struggles with his health all the time and has suffered badly with anxiety and depression as well as coping with mild learning difficulties. He is a lovely, kind young man who works really hard at his part time job and always has a smile on his face. Proud just doesnt describe how I feel! Oh and while I am gushing DS2 got his first GCSE mock result today - an A in science.
So - moneysaving. HM chilli for tea, washing over airer, found the best price online for a map I wanted to buy, cleaned and polished an old pair of boots and decided that they would last another winter. 7 hrs paid stuff, going to do another hour now. In fact I had better get on.0 -

Morning all
Some things according to plan yesterday and others not but got a fair bit done. The list has spilled over into today - I couldn't really get everything done after OH siliconed the sink because it's taking ages to set. Foxgloves - it looks like we had the same idea about the kitchen! My arm still isn't totally ok so not going to the gym.
so to continue:- Go for a run if it's not too rainy (doesn't involve my arm)
- B/L/D from stores - well dinner ended up being pizza but we will have the fish pie today
- KM the remaining two kitchen cupboards because they are driving me crazy. - done! That was a mission
- Make Christmas cakes! :j
- Dust the bathrooms and spare room
- Clean bathrooms - done
- Wash hoover filters
- Water chilli plants now that they are indoors for the winter. Last year only one survived. I hope that I can top this!
- Wash on - done
- Heating off? Probably but it depends how cold it gets later - my house doesn't take well to being left to get very cold. It gets very damp and it takes a lot to warm it up again. - nope it was very cold
- Make bread (poss 2 loaves, one to freeze) - done
- Look at starting the great clothes swap. I realised that (for lots of reasons) our clothes are in lots of silly places. It will make more sense if I move all of mine to the spare room and all of OH's to our room. That way, one person's clothes will be together and I won't wake him up in the mornings when getting dressed. This plan won't be finished until we put up the Christmas decs (they are in the wardrobe on our room) but I can start. - made a start
- Go to nearby city to finish (or nearly finish) Christmas shopping
- Do a small shop on the way home for essentials and OH's snacks
- Started a slouchy hat to match my gloves. Will finish later. Must pick up shirring elastic or something for the edge.
- Check ebay to see how new items are doing. Decided to try and sell the unused processor attachments cos I figured that the CS wouldn't want them.
- Pick up hair dye. Have made the tough decision to go back to home hair dye to save money. My flame hair and rainbow hair were amazing while it lasted but with my company the way it is, I can't justify the money.

- Have just learnt how to create graphghans using StitchFiddle. This is dangerous territory!!
Have a good one all

Hi November Non-Spenders,
So, the Wee Geek has two days off. Work has been....well..you know....manic...but I'm doing ok.
I have been saving money in the following ways...don't try this at home:
Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Two:
* Spending so little time at home that I've forgotten how to use the washing machine. It remains switched off.
* Spending most of my time off sleeping, thereby saving on electricity, heating and the entertainment budget.
* Spending the bare minimum of time on personal care. Clean but scruffy. Need a home haircut. Look like Dad from Bread.
* Spending no money at all except for on bills as I've not been conscious long enough to make any purchases.
* Spending very little on food as I'm too tired and busy to eat anything gourmet.
That's a lot of spending isn't it for a DFW? :rotfl:
Live long, live well and prosper.

I have today made a jelly cake!!! I am that tight that when the jelly I made out of leftover orange bits didn't set, I tipped the slushy mess into a cake tin (with all the relevant cakey bits obviously) and wacked it in the oven
I will let you know what its like
So what was it like?!LBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.310
