What small dfw things are you doing this week? w/c 14/11

Hi all
Thanks for your kind and sensible words about Christmas. You may need to repeat this message over the next few weeks. I promise I will do my best! And Bob you are absolutely right - the boys thank me all the time for taking them places and helping them with things.
So I have spent quite a bit of time on paperwork and finances today. There is good news and bad.
Bad: I am going to end up £93 in the red at the end of the month. This is assuming only £20 on food and nothing else - other than £10 or so that is in my purse. I have a (hopefully) small car bill to come in but no rush to pay that.
Good: I have a months wages set aside for DH if he cant work because of bad weather. The car has half a tank of petrol in it and if I am careful there should be enough food to last until the end of the month (except for bread, milk and fruit). Most of the Christmas shopping is done - even the turkey!
There is plenty of work to be done on job no. 2 so in theory I can make up a good chunk of the shortfall.
The plan is to work really hard for the next 4 weeks which will not be easy and be very very careful with my spending. If I can do this we should be OK. I can then have some time off to enjoy Christmas with the family.
The only possible hiccup is that we will need heating oil at some point over the next couple of months so I need to think about that. I do have some emergency money set aside if necessary.0 -

Good Evening All
Been busy decorating in attic, shattered but pleased with how it's looking. Have also a busy week planned. Loving the thoughts on "Christmas" and agree whole heartedly. Today's little list:
Checked Bank
Entered a few comps
Emulsioned attic and papered one wall
All meals from cupboards/fridge/freezer
Checked: Lucky Phone, Ashleigh, Numberplatelotto, FPL
Catch you all tomorrow for a new week.

Haven't had chance to post today but just catching up and too agree with Christmas chat. We spent about £25 on our two last year and will do the same this and for their birthdays. They still will get loads and we'd rather spend the money on other things with them throughout the year, such as days out that go all out on one day. We also are slow openers here, stocking first thing (just little) then when family come we open presents but take it in turns and have to wait until person has opened theirs before moving on. Safe to say present opening often spills in to Boxing Day :rotfl: but we have breaks so people can look and enjoy their gifts (adults and children alike!)
I was horrified that friend told me on Friday she was buying an iPad for her 4 year old for Christmas she proceeded to tell me that was the only thing she was gettting (justification) but then today she said santa was buying her a bike  I'm gobsmacked.
Right off my high horse, hope your all ok.0 -
