  • Morning all, hope those that are feeling blue, feel better soon. My list for today:

    Leftovers to work for lunch, hot drink for commute
    Check banking, surveys and FPL
    Washing out on airer, interesting read in martins mail this week about people's views on drying washing inside
    Read martins e mail
    Quick check of fridge, freeze anything that requires it
    Order products for customer, remember to enter prize draw at same time
    Deliver another product to customer, move profit to savings account
    Ask DH for his hmrc log in so I can do him tax return - double check mine and submit. Make a note in diary to pay in January. I've saved X but it's only Y, so in theory have a £130 rebate. Will move this to savings now :D
    Claimed £3 from p1nec0ne

    Right must dash, long day ahead. Will try and check back later when home. PF.

    Morning Campers,
    Staying at home today so am aiming to achieve quite a lot, but at a sensible pace. Money saving bits are:
    *Use the stock I made on Tues & last of the rubber chicken to make chicken soup. Done. 3 good portions.
    *Make tomorrow's packed lunch. Done.
    *Pull handful of baby turnips & parsley. Done. Loads more apples ready. Must put them on the list for this week too.
    *Perused Avon book. Nothing reqiired so nothing bought. Done.
    *Received email from energy provider saying the problem with my refund has been averted. After latest meter readings taken into account, we were £574 in credit. I have requested the £74 back. I will leave the £500 in place for the winter months so that I know we will be ok if we do get a longer cold snap, but my intention is to continue being sensible then ask for more money to be refunded early Spring.....as well as asking for a modest reduction in our monthly payment. Anyway....problem solved.
    *Bag up my 50ps from sealed pot ready to pay in & pay a couple into my new pot for opening in 2017.
    *Transfer £15 (unexpected cheque) into the Loan Paydown Fund.
    *Sort clean laundry & iron only what really needs it.
    *Had a good riffle through the freezer earlier so think I may write nwxt week's meal plans while the contents are fresh in my mind.
    *Try to finish knitting last Christmas present sock today. Am nearly at the toes & toes are speedy.
    *Catch up with surveys if I find I am in the mood.
    That will do.
    Cheers for now,
    F x

    Bob - Thank -you, it was just routine. Us old crocks get called for breast screening & so it was my 1st experience of being called for that. V grateful for the NHS. It was super-speedy......if I'd known it would be that quick, I wouldn't have put £1.80 in the car park machine! I wore my best bra! I wonder how many women do that, lol x

    Afternoon all,

    My list for today
    * Ys bread for toast for kids this morning :)
    * The milk that one of the kids didn't drink this morning has been used up in my coffee :)
    * Gym session done to make the most of my membership :) Filled water up there :)
    * Off to pick up kiddo's bike from Ha1fords, £60 in the end so cheaper then a new bike :)
    * Showered and continued the use-up of various lotions and potions. :) Left hair to dry naturally :)
    * Washing machine on the quick 30degree wash :)
    * Tonights meals are last nights left overs, so no cooking just reheating - tomorrows tea now after dh took us to the chippy :)
    * Make tomorrows lunch boxes (half way there as dh forgot to take his today, as he's away on a different site for customer meetings I hope he'll get something on expenses ;) )
    * Radiator shuffle :)
    * Iron only what needs it, hang away the rest :)
    * Hoover everywhere :)
    * Clean kitchen/bathroom with stardrops :)
    * File receipts to keep on top of everything :)
    * Checked banking/spreadsheets :)
    * Check luckyphone :)
    * Take kiddo 1 a snack for after school whilst we wait for kiddo 2 to finish an after school club :)

    Enough to be getting on with! Have a good day all.

    Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.
  • Hi guys :D busy day this morning. We had a chimney sweep come at 8 and friends coming for a play date and lunch at 10. So tidying and prepping food all before 9 :-) made bread roll pizzas for the littlies -stole dawn & LL's ideas. I had some ys rolls in the freezer that oh told mev were no good taste wise so used them :-), made Italian tom sauce (tinned toms, garlic and dried basil cooked on hob for 20 mins, then put toppings in bowls for littlies to assemble themselves :money: totally frugal and entertaining as well! Desert was flapjacks madam made yesterday.

    Made chilli bean soup ala jack Monroe so all in very enjoyable but budget conscious play date! Madam loved having her friend to play but being an introvert she's taken herself upstairs for some alone time so getting 5 mins on here :)

    Have portioned up soup for next 3 days lunches

    Going out for a bike ride shortly when madam has recharged. Foxgloves just reminded me I need to go and pick some turnips. Haven't been to the little for a couple of weeks so forgot about them! Will do 1/2 hour with hoe to keep on top of weeds.

    Will sweep ds rather than vacuum. Still need to vacuum us

    Post fleabag sale while out

    Made big batch of rice pudding yesterday. Am wondering if I can freeze it?

    Read Martin's email.

    Prob I'll do 1/2 work this evening - need to do some filing/scanning and setting up a resource folder. Will make my life easier tomorrow if I do this so will sacrifice my time for my wellbeing tommorow .

    Portioned up cickpeas and kidney beans in to 200gm portions and froze.

    Need to call cc and get them to reset online log in

    Think that's it! Feeling a lot better after massive walk yesterday. Really trying to incorporate exercise into my daily life to help with mood. Seems to have worked yesterday after several hours walking. Hoping similar with bike ride today :)

    Hello there kids

    DNMS – glad you’re feeling better today. So true what you say about getting out and about for a bit of exercise.

    I’ve got a cold coming on – sore throat is here…stage 1… :(

    Here’s me:
    Cheapo porridge brekkie
    ‘Free’ sandwich for lunch – bought with refunded interest on my cc – better than having a -ve balance/having to call them for a refund to my current a/c…
    Need to check banking and sort YNAB
    Shopping tonight – have £7 MOC – will remember to use it!!
    Night in with OH – he’s picking me up later so saving on tram fare

    Boring really

    Was out with my pal yesterday – she was going on about how she spends £100 each on her 6 nephews at Christmas but she is going to cut it down this year to maybe just £80 or £90 each – oh wow!

    Glad to hear nothing serious. And how lucky we are to have these checks in place. :rotfl: at the concept of a best bra. Mine are all shocking:eek: maybe I will ask Santa, if not too inappropriate:D
