  • Thanks 1LuckyLady for getting us started this week.

    Things haven't gone badly today but neither did they go according to plan.

    Managed to keep the spending low, only buying what was on the list. GC envelope updated. I've had a good look through the stocking presents (i do stockings for 2 children and 4 adults) stash and worked out what I still need to get, pleased with what I already have.

    We meal planned for the rest of the week and came up with some ideas for the next few weeks.

    All meals from stores. I tried a new recipe for dinner which dd loved and asked for seconds, which is lucky really as I made a double batch. The extra one is going in the freezer and we will have in a few weeks.

    I've done FPL, Ashleigh and RM survey.

    Heating on selectively and low. We have not lit the stove for a few days as it has been so mild.

    We have an early start tomorrow morning, to make things go smoothly we have got our clothes out, planned breakfast, prepared as much of breakfast as we can, packed snacks, planned route and parking.

    Morning all

    Woke up at 5.20 this morning although it was a good job because my phone died in the night so no alarm! Must see about batteries for alarm clock at the weekend!

    Had a bit of a 'mare just before I left work last night. Realised a large portion of work will have to be re-done. Then my friend was messaging me in a bit of a state so felt pretty done in. Ate a load of cake and had an early night (better than drinking though).

    On the plus side re:work several jobs have been saved. Some because we all stated that the people were mission-critical and some have been fitted into new roles. Luckily my two good friends are staying. :)

    State of play yesterday
    • B/L/D from stores - sweet potatoes in the oven now for lunch! OH having LO chilli for tea. Not sure what I'm having yet. - done
    • Make bread - forgot
    • Charge phone in work - done
    • Heating off - done
    • Research way to send large fragile parcel to potential Ebay buyer - done. She is happy with the proposed postage and has bid on 2 of the items
    • Crossfit - done
    • Washing out (low chance of rain :) ) - done
    • Tidy round - place still a bit all over the shop since mum being here - a bit
    • Tell OH to put his prescription in- told him. Will he put it in though?
    • NSD - nope. forgot that had to pay the window cleaner. I was in a bit of arrears last month (missed two payments by accident) but squared up last month. However this not reflected on the bill. Had to text him. All sorted now :)
    • If time, KM my tuppaware cupboards. Having some storage issues. Too much in the cupboard. Don't think that I can get rid of much but I think I need to make better use of the undersink cupboard. At the moment it's full with 2 giant tubs of whey protein that OH is trying to use up. He bought some sickly strawberry flavour. It's BOGGIN. - not done

    Today's mission:
    • B/L/D from stores. Must decide on dinner.
    • Heating off (unless OH puts it on in the day but unlikely and it's mild)
    • Look at statement from Npower - done. Bill remaining the same :T
    • Charge phone in work - done
    • Remind OH about his prescription - done
    • Send mum Christmas pressie wishes - done
    • Sort contents insurance. I forgot to renew as it was while we were away
    • Overtime
    • No drinkies
    • Crossfit at lunchtime (def helps with stress levels!) - done
    • OH to vacuum through
    • Ask OH to make bread
    • Wash on - critical items first! - done
    • NSD
    Will add more if I think of it

    Have a good one all

    Morning all,
    Welcome to the thread LauraB :)

    * Kiddie 2 to his check up at hospital, took a drink so as not to buy anything :)
    * Check banking/update spreadsheets :)
    * Check lucky phone :)
    * Prep veg for tea
    * Take a couple of apples for the kids after school before swimming :)
    * Wait to hear about kiddie 1's bike hmm they rang and left a message saying it was ready, didn't say how much so hoping there wasn't any other costs incurred!, will find out when I collect tomorrow
    * Clear desk :)
    * Clear kitchen, :)
    * Radiator shuffle :)
    * Heating only on for an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening, blankets around if needed :)
    * Book 3 weeks of Mr T dels and apply £12 off £60 & 2 x £9 off £60 whilst I have the vouchers to hand :) Will edit the shops closer to delivery date. This is more each week then I'd try to spend but a decent discount so will get my usual shops and add extra toiletries tc

    * Ironed just what was needed and hung the rest :)
    * Added a couple of dh's work trousers into cs bag :)
    * Ironed kiddie1's old school trousers and put them away ready for when kiddie2 grows into them :)
    * Recharged 2 moisture things from the wardrobes, used to have buy disposable ones, got these ones from Lakeland and they recharge in the mircro :)

    That's about it for now, my coffee is cool enough to drink so I had better get on :)

    Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

    Hi guys

    Free brekkie for me today – porridge from MIL’s cupboard, free milk/micro in work :cool:
    HM soup for lunch – used up lots of stuff going off – parsnips, onion, spring onion, cauliflower, carrot, curry powder, ginger, salt, pepper, stock…
    Out for dinner tonight – meeting a pal who’s here on biz – she’ll put her £25 allowance towards it and I have 20% off card :cool:
    Need to finish messing around with YNAB now all our £££ is in for the month – phew!
    Started a 5-yr ISA at a modest £20 pcm… :A
    Replied to biz email – hoping to get another newbie…

    Take care everyone :wave:
