Yesterday I was grateful for the weather turning out quite nice in the end, started to dry the washing (just brought it in), for the sun struggling to shine through a bank of cloud and making a beautiful little rainbow arc and for the birds, who may be about to abandon us but whose antics kept me entertained. Plus needed no painkillers.
Ticked a few jobs off the list yesterday. I was hoping for more today but it obviously isn't happening. I slept well and still keep falling asleep (every time I look at the clock another hour or two has passed).
I have been down to bring in the dry washing and put out some of the load I washed yesterday. I spent some time sitting in the garden which was lovely, will repaeat on days the weather permits until I can get back to walking properly. Added loads more clean washing (towels and bedding which were left over chairs to air) to the basket and will ask DS3 to bring it up for me to sort later.
I have brought a mug of hot soup back upstairs with me and have found the roll of greaseproof paper so I can copy templates from books - more crafting later woohoo.
Feeling good, accepting my limitations (body obviously using sleep time to repair itself), doing the things I can do and having fun. Life is good, enjoy the moment. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Haven’t posted for a while as work has kicked off now (it’s one of our two busiest times of the year) - still haven’t felt 100% and have had some early nights.
Have only managed another four NSD days (including today) since I last posted – bought Pret soup one day, bought ticket to Christmas Fair for next month, more tissues, donated £10 to a colleague’s charity walk and ended up going for a lunch time drink yesterday with another colleague who was leaving. Ended up spending just under £16 in pub!
Positives have been - making Apple Muncher’s parsnip soup (luvverly!), made a whole £2.80 on cashback card through ordering boss’s annual sub to industry magazine and then claiming back amount on expenses (quite legal workwise – we have to buy these ourselves and then claim back) - and lost 8lbs due to all the soup meals I’ve been having!
Sending positive energy vibes to all turtles suffering from dreaded malaise especially you mothernerd. I'm glad you got out today and enjoyed your garden. Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Hi everyone
I confess to being off the radar for a few days because I was sitting and stewing and feeling really sorry for myself. My blood test results came back all clear, which is great in that it means that I have no physical cause for my symptoms. But it knocked me for 6 because it means that I have to take charge of both my food and of my stress levels, both of which are a massive deal for me.
Mothernerd - I find you so inspirational. I feel quite low at the moment but I'm very grateful for such good friends, both on here and in real life. And I'm grateful that the Lidl in our town centre has finally opened so that I can easily access a supermarket...

Hello guys, I am ready to join in.
I should explain, for the last few months I have been joining in on the NST threads and love them to pieces.
At the end of September I unexpectedly was offered a contract at my old employer. The job is in Bristol and I live in South Wales, and the Severn Tunnel was being worked on and updated and electrified. That meant that for the last three weeks I have been living with my OH's parents during the week and coming back on weekends.
Practically I wasn't able to do many of the challenges, I had to buy lunch at the work canteen each day as I couldn't prepare my own food, but I am now back home with my lovely OH (who is ill and needs lots of cuddles, he is a very cuddly boy) so i will do a mega blast for the last 9 days of the month.
The Challenge Rules:
My debt free day is March 30th 2019. I want to be debt free before I am 30. Whilst I wouldn't say I wasn't prioritising my debts, I am now making it my all encompassing focus.
Will aim to achieve 8 NSDs by the end of the month.
Learning everyday in my new job, and I feel it is preparing me for when I hopefully fulfil my ambition of studying Finance/Economics.
There will be no more work canteen meals. It will be a packed lunch everyday.
Will do my best with the 5 a day, I was once very good at this. It just takes some preparation.
I am trying to squirrel away enough money to buy a job lot of advent calendars for children of those using food banks. My in laws usually buy me one each year which is very kind, but it makes me feel spoilt and selfish when there are children without. I am 27 and I don't deserve an advent calendar as much as a child does!
Will exercise with a passion, I miss running!
I am usually on here everyday so will post with updates.
Best of luck to all for the remainder of the month and sending my thoughts to those in need.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

Hugs to ccl and anyone else that needs them. I am feeling well but not fit. The drugs are obviously doing their job and the flu jab and anti-histamines (only recently stopped taking them) are helping alleviate the symtoms, I just have to be patient until I stop beng weak and wobbly.
I have had quite a busy week. There was a talk (200th anniversary of local canal) that I wanted to go to, but it was always going to be difficult - 8 miles on the bus each way and then a walk, so gave it a miss. I have picked up leaflets from the library on a couple of interesting things but don't want to rush in and then find it unsustainable. Film club is putting up the annual fee to £20 but will include the current monthly film and the afternoon 'classic' cinema, so should be worth it.
I have again crossed afew things off the list and 'part done' some bits - picked up cans and plastic recycling from DS3's room + my water bottles (refill 2 litre bottles from the tap to have by my bedside), thrown them downstairs and each time I go down for food or to do a task I scoop up a few and put them by the sink.
I have plans for tomorrow but they are flexible. I have had a bath and have a clean nightie (covers everything so I can go down the yard and to the bins and look respectable). Found more cleaning rags today so can wipe things over - noticed the oven could do with an all over wipe.
Today I am grateful for the endless amusement of the 'people show' on the car park, for an old 'made for tv' movie with lots of good actors and for my new soup mug - I like just holding it as well as the soup. Not spending money atm - I have food but may need to be flexible about what is 'normal'.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Hope you feel better soon morhernerd
ccl I can sympathise, 8 feel similar to you and I know a healthier diet, more exercise and less stress would do wonders but they are all so hard to control/fit in/do whilst working. Hugs

Hi everyone, just a quick post before I go up to bed. Another day not spending as I only went out for a walk and I'm not looking after after any dgc who usually cost me money!
I've been cutting out felt Santa's etc to put onto plain cushion covers made out of pillow cases to adorn my sofas in the run up to Xmas. I also made a pencil case and a couple of make up bags so the Xmas present list is gradually getting done. I love making things but I have to do them for a reason.
Tomorrow I'm hoping to get down the lottie for an hour or two so I can clear the area where my poly tunnel is going to be moved to, and then next week I'm hoping someone down there will help me move it. I made hm butternut squash soup today with one of my own and it tasted so nice and there's plenty left.
Right off to bed

It was a NSD as expected yesterday as I was at work all day. Ferret victory dance - did a shift for 2nd job so extra pennies on Friday, walking home through piles of leaves and a hot water bottle and getting snug in bed once I got home.
Working again today but thankfully not such a long day. Just enjoying my coffee and then I'll get myself organised to go. Hope all turtles have a good SundayMortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Sorry to read that a lot of Turtles have been poorly - I have had a funny few weeks with my ear, I keep going deaf in one ear and it feels like I am in a bubble while the world continues around me. When I drove the car I asked DH if it needed to go to the garage as it sounded like an aeroplane taking off, DH said it sounded fine so I guess the hearing in my other year became overly sensitive.
I am much better now though, DH wanted me to go to the GP but after self-diagnosing on Google I opted not to!!!
Hope all turtles get better soon.
As expected Weds was a spend day as needed butter so popped to Waitrose who were doing butter on 2 for £4 which is what other supermarkets also do.
Thurs was a NSD taking me up to 9.
Fri was a spend day as had an impromptu outing to a local bingo event while DD and her friend went to visit a new boy they have made friends with - we were about 2mins away just in case there was a problem which of course there was not.
Last night was another spend as DD had friend over and had to gets sweets/fizzy etc plus we got a Chinese for tea.
I am hoping today will be a NSD but not sure as DH has no ham and may want that in his sandwiches next week although I do have cheese in and could cook up eggs.
Also have Lidl voucher which needs to be used by Fri so may pop in mid-week to buy what we need.0
