Hi everyone.
lauralozzle - congratulations
thrifty - I don't spend that much on presents for kids friends, DS went to a party on Sunday and the gift I bought was £3 and the recipient thinks it is 'sick'.
I killed some time in Sainsburys on Sunday waiting to collect DS and got quite a few YS items including pork mince for burgers and a large pork joint, all came from the shopping budget though.
I got DD a birthday present on Saturday, her birthday is in December but we saw, we liked, we bought.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

I'm only 38 but not up to scratch with the kids lingo, I guess "sick" means great:rotfl:
Not an NSD today as I'll buy the evening tele again to see if my son's P1 picture is in it. Prob only spend till Friday.
Slow day in work so will look into how to deal with a strong willed 2 yo. [STRIKE]DD is driving me crazy just now as everything is a struggle, from getting her into clothes (should I really give in and let her choose?), biting, hitting (tried to tell her about alternative ways to react, ask for help etc), to having to wrestle her into the car seat (tried explaining about safety etc), to changing her mind about what colour cup she wants and what drink in it, while trying to ignore her tantrum if I don't give in and still coax her back to the table off the floor to eat her breakfast and not loosing my rag. Any advice welcome. Her language is quite good for 2.5 yo but I just can't reason with her and consequences don't work or I'm not sure if she understands them, like having to go to bed early and time out. DS was over 3 when he entered this phase and it was easier to talk to him about it.[/STRIKE] All good, found some useful advice online on how to approach things differently.:D
Anyway, totally off topic
Had a rather expensive dinner last night of Paella as I added a chicken filet, chorizo, prawns, cod and mussles (all LIDL though). Must have been good though as DH got two seconds. Still plenty for lunches left (about 3).
Off to the gym soon. And [STRIKE]homemade spicy butternut squash and sweet potato soup for lunch[/STRIKE] naughty canteen burger and chips for lunch (every 3 months I get a craving for canteen food and every time it is a disappointment, at least I found £1 in a gym locker that helped pay for it).DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -

I have no experience with kids myself, but I have heard of a trick of making kids think they are making a choice and they are in control.
'Do you want to wear these trousers or these?'
No idea if it actually works or not!

Tried that too, giving her a limited pre-chosen choice, still a "No"DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -

Well that's me out of the running for the next supernanny. :rotfl:
I've had more bad news today, life seems to be against me at the moment. So I've pretty much written off the day.
Unfortunately I'm on nights this week, so still have a shift to get through. Definitely hoping for a quiet shift tonight so I can hide in my book.

Well EE mentioned BED so I have finally taken the plunge and bought a new one. Was just going to get a mattress but decided to get whole bed -kingsize(yeah no more hanging on the edge all night) and that way re use base units in my spare bedroom - the base units in there smell damp/ mouldy wheras the mattress is fine. Not sure how old my bed was but mattress looked like turin shroud with fake tan. So to add to the cost been and bought new sheets and a mattress cover today.
Usually I am cross when spent money but this has on my mind for ages and really needed. Will work out a new DFD and this time will be sticking to it like glue.
Anyway last night tipped all my bedrooms upside down as bed arriving today after work, and taking old one away for free. Even had more clothes in base units.
Can't wait to curl up on new bed with my book at some point later.LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -
A spend day for me today unfortunately. No longer on my Herbalife, so need to get back to making meals and realised I had nothing at home, damn.
This should mean I'll manage NSD's for the remaining weekdays of this week though which is good.
The great news is though that I nearly halved my debt today by paying over £960 towards my CC after getting a bonus from my old job. Delighted.
Raphael - hope your day/night improves.0 -
Speky - great news re bonus!
NSD today - yeay! One of our fave easy dinners tonight - nachos loaded up with chicken and loads of veggies, topped with chopped fresh tomatoes, sour cream and some cheese - not the healthiest, but oh so yummy! - and super quick and easy to make
Was going to do some bits in the garden today but it unexpectedly hammered it down from lunchtime onwardsStill, have managed some tidying in DS3's room instead
Walked to SW and back this morning (25 mins each way), so made my 10k steps just after lunchtime
That's about it from me for today!

Yesterday and today have been NSD. So think I'm up to 7. Need to do a food shop this weekend. Need to get a meal plan done for 2-3 weeks. Can't believe it's the 13th September. How fast is September going? Think I need to rethink some things that have slipped since the beginning of September.Mortgage free wannabee 2022 #820

I know I am late in getting started and with work being so busy I probably won't be able to update as often as I would like but I would still like to take part and will still be working on things even when not posting.
So here goes:
Spends - Attempt 14 NSDs. I currently have 2 NSDs done.
Eating - Food is planned for weekly and shopping done on that basis. All lunches are taken into work.
Presents - Not made a start yet but have a few ideas. Will make a start buying this weekend. I already have plenty of wrapping paper and cards (bought in Jan sales).
Time - make time for me. Tonight I plan to chill out in front of the TV and then have a bath and early bed. Been full of the cold so hoping this will help clear it up.
Empty - I have already had a shoe clear-out. I discovered 2 pairs of shoes I hadn't worn so I took advantage of the Schuh 1 year refund policy. Got a full refund which will go into savings.
Meet - met up with a friend the weekend just past fr lunch and a catch up.
Bed - I really need to sort out the front garden but the weather is getting in the way.
Exercise - walking and swimming
Reading - I have visited my local library and taken a book out. Yet to start reading it. Can't remember what it's called at the mo.0
