    Monday 12th September

Didn't manage a NSD as I needed petrol this morning.

Have been using up freezer supplies though and I've managed my 10,000 steps today! I've not met any of other targets though.

    Congratulations, Lauralozzle!

    Quick update:

Spends: tyres for OH's car now being done by someone else (previous fitter has 'a problem with the van which means it is out of action for at least a week' price now £358.... More spending for DD/ uni and some food shopping yesterday. Have lost track of food spends after losing a couple of receipts :(

Eating - aside from fresh food shopping we *are* eating up stores - freezer contents are going down! I made courgette and tomato soup at lunchtime with 2 bags of tomatoes from the freezer from May of this year and a bag of grated courgettes which had been in there since Oct 2014...:o Also used a tub of chicken stock from the freezer in it :) Dinner was various items from there (people in and out at various times so was easy to use up a few 'one serving' items)

Presents: I have plenty of giftbags/ tags/ general cards/ wrapping paper/tissue paper/ribbon/ sticky tape for Xmas. I do need some individual family cards, but will buy those at Outlet shop when next in that area. I have finally sorted out all of the gift stash under the bed and listed what I have and who it is for. I have some random spare presents which I will look to use on party invites from school if possible (usually they are duplicates of something my children have already) I don't actually have that much bought - I made a point of running the stash down. However, once DD has gone to uni I can make a start on it. I also need to sort any pre Xmas bdays (inc OH's next month) and DS2's bday (1st week of Jan)

Time - lovely family time at family party yesterday. Used catch up tv to do some catch up ironing (multi tasking! ;))

Empty - my pledge was my wardrobe and my bathroom c-o-d. Still to do

Meet - extended family do yesterday - saw people that I hadn't seen since March and loads more which I hadn't seen since last year!! Have today been in contact with one and have loose plans for later this month/ early next month (may combine with Oh's bday)

Bed - underbed stash sorted. Some dying foliage cut back in garden

Exercise - I hit 10k step target before 4pm today with an hour's walk :)

Debt - have £200 extra to put towards 0% cc this month so far :T

Very tired - off for early night xx
I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soul
    Repaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NIL
    Net sales 2024: £20
  • Greent – crikey I bet that was a shock for your DH. Boo to cars – the problem is the majority of people do actually need a car.
Excellent work on eating down the freezer

Lauralozzle – congratulations on your engagement!!

Allie23 – congratulations on being debt free. Great idea to have some long term goals, I hope this job is not too stressful

Toni’sfriend – can’t believe how organised you are with Xmas – I know I set the goal but you know I didn’t expect anyone to have it all basically done!!

Thrfitylass – not so great news on the insurance claim but good news that you got it reduced by sorting your own car out

SpekySquarehead – I wondered where you were!! Of course you can join now, feel free to pick and choose the challenges you want to do. And tell us more about this new job with a lovely cafe!?!?!

Florence J – excellent work on the Tesco offer
  • Didn't make it back on Saturday - bet you were all worried I was stuck under the bed!!!

No seriously, it took me hours and hours on Sat to sort under the bed, then that led to me sorting the bedside tables, then all the stuff in front of them and then more of the bedroom and you basically get the picture.

I was pleased it was a rainy day as it gave me an excuse to do it all.

So Saturday was a NSD, Sunday was a spend day as got some shopping bits and today has been another NSD so that takes me to 7 for the month so far.

Everyone is doing brilliantly, I don't mind if you can't post every day. Just trying your best is fine with me.

  • Bought a bed - £125 from the hospice shop plus £10 delivery charge and gave a £5 donation. DS3's gf has gone home but is planninand the tg to move in with us (plus chinchillas) in about six weeks.

Have started on DS3's bedding. Lightweight summer cover on the line, another quilt to be done and towel and bath mat. Have had two meals from their leftover takeaway (couple of slices of pizza and wedges).

Four books back to the library and lots of rubbish and recycling rounded up. Cut my hair as it is getting to be a pain washing and combing it - noe just touching my shoulders - feel much lighter.

Today I am grateful for pleasant company, charity shops and their volunteers and free food.

Didn't manage to post over the weekend, new job is keeping me busy. Now up to 7 NSDs :D. Needed to get milk and cheese today.

Spent the evening round a friend's which was lovely, really trying to make an effort to see more people this month. I've got a gym class booked for tomorrow so will need to make sure I get away from work on time to get there.

No progress on the Christmas front, I don't think I'll be able to buy anything this month due to a lack of funds but planning to start making christmas cards soon and get lots of ideas for gifts so that I'm ready to buy once I get paid again.

Still doing lots of reading, mainly because I've been too tired to bother doing anything else :o

  • NSD number 5 at last and 3rd night in a row of free evening meals. Tonight's was unexpected! I was leaning towards having fish and chips take away but hubby came home with a fish dish that our friend sent, which was a wonderful surprise.

Spoke to ds1 on Ftime as it was his first day of lectures in uni today. I was glad to see he is still enjoying his time. His EMA came in today but it's not as big as he expected. I helped carefully set his budget until the end of December. After taking the rent out, he will have only £150 spending money. It's not huge and we cannot afford to send him more money so he said he'll try to find a job to supplement his EMA. I am keeping my fingers crossed for him.

Need to go to bed as I have a long day of training tomorrow as a trainer and I need to stay alert. Good night everyone

  • Hello Everyone

    12 September

NSD number 7. I'm doing much better with this than I thought I would.

Mostly sticking to my menu plans. At least any meat/fish/chicken which I've bought has been reduced in price and has either been used or in the freezer.

Didn't do any walking today but a general clearing up.

The two wee ones' presents arrived today and they are wrapped up.

A bit of lazy day. Book number 2 should be finished tonight.

    Have a good day.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

I went to bed with a banging headache after work last night (probably a dehydration and staring at a computer screen for 8 hours straight). Woke up with the same headache so I'm just going to slob around the house today feeling sorry for myself. At least I can achieve NSD no.5

    Spends – 5/14
Meet – I need to ring my aunt who I haven't spoken to in years, she's helpfully agreed to put us up for the wedding on Saturday and I need to make arrangements.
Bed – BF didn't pick in the tomatoes yesterday. He didn't get home until late from work and forgot until 9pm, when it was dark outside. He did tidy up his pile of random cr*p thou, so he's still a good boy.
Exercise – My planned run has been rained off. Not feeling up to it with my headache anyway.
Reading – I finished 'The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon' before I went to work last night. I always find Stephen King hit and miss, either I love the story or he goes on and on without getting anywhere.
This one was somewhere in the middle, it kept my interest and flowed nicely, but the ending seemed a little rushed and forced.
I started 'The Martian' during my break, and so far I'm enjoying it. I'm hoping I won't have much to do tonight so I can get a good few hours reading in. Working in a call centre is great when it's quiet! :rotfl:
