Thanks for all the messages guys. We picked up my pooches ashes yesterday, so she's home again.
Went into town today, I managed to get home without spending a penny, so 3rd NSD chalked up for me.

Well my good intentions in being on here more and taking part properly didn't quite come to fruition. Being back at work I just feel so busy and rushed I haven't had time to come on here.
I will head back over the posts and have a look once I finish this post. Getting myself motivated is the only way I am going to maximise my savings. As you will see from my badges I am now debt free. But I have struggled to save with the same motivation that I paid off that debt. So OH and I have set ourselves some goals (and this is what has taken me back to work after having resigned due to stress). Goal 1 is to save enough for a large deposit on a house on our favourite Scottish Island and Goal 2 is to save enough for us both to have time off work to go travelling (something we have never done). These are fairly long term goals.
I really need to keep these goals front and centre in order to motivate myself to save better by being more frugal and setting myself mini challenges.
The food shopping has been done this week so there should be no spends this week at all, except dinner on Thursday evening as I go to college then (without coming home from work as their is no time). I will limit the spend here to £5.
Right I am off to catch up on everyone's posts.0 -
Wow Lauralozzle, congratulations on your engagement.:D0

Slow progress for me. Ticking off jobs on my list s l o w l y and still some days when I just keep drifting back to sleep (excusable today as I was awake all night) but my counsellor thought this was heathy. She pointed out that last autumn and again in January/ February (moving mum's stuff from the hovel to the bungalow/ assorted charity shops/ church/ recycling etc) I had worked myself to a standstill, absolutely depleted my immune system and had taken weeks to get out of it.
So being able to take a step back and say this must be what my body needs and trying not to stress about all the things that need doing (lets face it, there will always be things that 'need' doing) is good.
Over the past two weeks I have emptied all the bags I brought back from mum's party, used up most of the bits, done all the washing up (plus extras as a few infrequently used things were brought out so cupboards heva been cleaned and items sorted again), lots of rubbish/ recycling has gone. Today I went back to bring the 6 garden chairs home (over the bridge of doom on the dolly).
Need a couple of days just plugging away at all the basic boring stuff to get back on top. Have just been dragged into another discussion on whether DS3's gf can move in - she is worried about being a burden. Also about cutting ties as her parents have said if she moves out she cannot go back to them (and next sister down is already measuring her bedroom).
More small spends today as I fell asleep yesterday afternoon (walked to mum's church and back with donations from her party and sat chatting and eating toasted teacakes) and all the shops I needed were closed when I woke up.
Today I am grateful for canal boats (heritage weekend and canal boat festival on here), gripping books (read the Red Queen by Phillippa Gregory) and quiet roads (didn't have to keep dragging the loaded dolly up and down kerbs). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
All this mentioning of baths and relaxing is driving me bath crazy! All I can think about every time I go near my bathroom is how amazing a bath would be.
Congratulations lauralozzle
SFD number 6 todayAlso cleaned out the two kitchen drawers yesterday and have done tonnes of school work for tomorrow, I'm knackered now so off to bed.

Hi turtles!
Lauralozzle congratulations!!
Yesterday was NSD 6. Had a free day out at a nearby castle that was taking part in the open doors scheme. Took a few snacks with us so we didn't need to spend. Had an absolutely lovely day.
DS played rugby this morning (they won!) so we all went to cheer him on. Was very organised and took a flask of tea and some sausage butties with us. However, spent a small amount today as my parents are back from holiday and wanted to make sure they had essentials such as milk at home.
Have decluttered a bit more and eBay sales are now up to nearly £80. 8 items still listed so hoping to pass the £100 mark this week.0
