Hi all, didn't get to post last night. It was NSD number 3 and boy am I pleased? All day long I had lots of temptations to spend but I'm proud of myself for resisting. Yesterday was a "same old" work-home routine apart from a nice lady on our Freecycle group giving me 2 sewing magazines and a craft one (Mollie Makes) with 2 brand new/unopened sewing patterns. One is something I've been lusting over for some time but it's a bit expensive for me (£8.95 full price) so I've been waiting patiently til it goes on the half price sale. Now its in my treasured possession and for free! The other pattern that came with the magazine is the exact same one I gifted myself on Wednesday. A bit of a bummer because I could not return it anymore as I have broken the seal. I just wish I had telepathic gift so I could have predicted that it would be coming my way for free. The magazine costs £6.99 but if I had bought the pattern separately it would have been at least £15. I can sell both magazine and pattern on eBay and get my money back that way. Oh maybe I should stop buying myself those magazines because I've just remembered I bought a magazine with a free pattern in July but 3 months later, I bought the same pattern (unopened and unused) in a charity shop for 20p. Yet to put on eBay.
Today won't be NSD as my car needs petrol and we need to get some milk, bread and fruits for the weekend. The freezer is still full so no need to buy fish and chicken.
We've been invited to a friend's daughters birthday party and another friend's 40th tomorrow (2 in a row - free food yay!) And I'm going to "make" my presents using up fabrics from my fabric stash. A dress for the little girl and a tote bag for my friend. Hopefully it would be a no spend day. Will confirm tomorrow night.
Weekend is nearly here and I hope everyone is having a good day so far. Hugs to Raphael and calling for the loss of your beloved dogs. xx
The other day I mentioned that my hubby replaced our shower switch which has gone kaput. He failed to tell me that day that it was lucky it didn't burn the house down. When he replaced the switch he noticed burned bits in the electricals inside the switch. Phew. Lucky escape. Hubby earned a gold star for managing to fix it himself! Another gold star got him for switching to water meter. Now that DS2 is off to uni, he reckons we will save at least £20 a month. I've been trying to convince him to switch to water meter for a couple of years now and we could have saved a fair bit already but I'm just thankful that he did eventually make the move."There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150 -
Hi turtles!
Thanks dizzy. I have a sweet cart etc that I hire our for events, but also make favours and gifts. It's my Christmas items that are going atm - Xmas eve boxes and elf doors. I do this part time as I also have a proper job!
Calling have you looked at the open doors events to do with your grandson? We are going to a nt castle tomorrow that is free entry, but there is lots to choose from.
Dolly I hope your dog is ok.
Today will be a spend day as need to do weekly shop. Plan to get some more items listed for sale once shopping and after school activities are done.0 -
Welsh that sounds great. I haven't even began to think about Christmas. I tried to ask people for niece n nephew presents n got shot down with answers of 'it's only September!'
Nsd#6 today. All meals from stores. Fancying sweet stuff but eating only what's in the house. Weekend won't b spend free tho as I have a lunch date tomorrow (my catch-up with my friend) n I have some chores to do. I have a weeks worth of cleaning to do too. Fun hey?Mortgage free wannabee 2022 #820 -

Today was a spendy day, I've had a takeaway and really savoured it. I don't usually have one, especially on my own but after the first week of work and averaging 12 hour days (yeaterday 11 hours in school) I wanted to have a treat.

Hi all
Another exhausted first-week-back teacher checking in. I've chalked up 2 more nsd's since I last checked in because I've been too busy and tired to do anything at all. I have a busy weekend ahead but just want to sleep through it all...
Nothing much else to report. Struggling with eating well, hurt my knee and migraine is looking to make an appearance. Boo hiss. Not giving up

Yesterday was a NSD, that takes me up to 5. Today I did a small shop including batteries for my kitchen scales. I've been off work today so have had a very chilled out relaxing day baking and readingMortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Thought it was going to be a spendy day as DS3's gf is coming tto visit. However he refused to get dressed and go looking at beds and also turned down my offer to tidy and swap beds for the visit (would have meant me living out of bags again) so only a minor spend.
Not sure how they are going to manage in a single bed (probably wreck it) but it's not my problem. He has been chatting to the man from one of the bed shops in the queue at the slushy shop and has looked at a bed that was £300. His gf had picked one on-line but I don't think it will be strong enough - DS3 is 6' 7" and solid from the shoulders down (DS2 was very annoyed that he would not join the rugby team). Gf is considerabley shorter but a well built young lady. DS3 had a king size bed (next doot neighbours were throwing it out) and ideally needs a super king (or two 3' singles bolted together).
Not a lot done but plugging away with getting stuff out of the house and working on filling the green bin a bit at a time (keep having mild dizzy spells).
Today I am grateful for libraries and books (probably averaging one a day), for restful sleep (even at the wrong times) and for visitors. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
I found out this afternoon that I have got the job I applied for. It is difficult to explain without giving too much away but it is a better job at the same company but a different contract, gives me another 2 years job security, is more challenging for me, is kind of a promotion but not any more money.
Spends/Eats I ate from stores today but bought DH some pasta RM for carb loadingAlso bought cards, stamps and a birthday gift. I have also ordered a costume for DS to wear at school on Monday. I couldn't find one anywhere so have ordered it on line to be delivered tomorrow. I don't appreciate 3 days notice from school
Presents - bought the 2 gifts I spotted last week to go towards my friends girls presents
Time for me - watching Eye in the Sky with DH as I type (borrowed from DFIL)
Empty - I still haven't started on this yet!
Meet - I'm looking forward to my DM & SD coming to stay next weekend
Bed - This will have to wait until after the run on Sunday!
Exercise - none today
Reading - Will read some more of my book tonight
I'm really pleased with DS progress this week at school. He has come home with a reading book 2 stages higher than at the end of last school year which he has read really well tonight and has some great feedback from his teacher :A:jSave £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

Morning everyone,
Yesterday’s progress went a bit like this:
Spends – I had to buy the little one a couple of teething items and although they didn’t cost much it meant I had a LSD rather than a NSD
Eating – I stuck to my meal plan, that’s the first time this week!
Time – The little one slept a lot so I spoilt myself and had a shower, read my book and watched 2 hours of T.V. Very indulgent lol
Empty – I sorted through some of the little ones clothes and found vests that no longer fit him so I’ve bagged them up to be passed on
Exercise – I walked to the supermarket and back again. It was a total of 1.78 miles
Reading – I continued with my library book and I only have around 40 pages left to read now. Should get it finished today at some pointVSPC 2019 #10 - £168.80/£100 VSPC 2020 #4 - £262.03/£200 VSPC 2021 #9 - £242.88/£200 VSPC 2022 #3 - £188.03/£200 VSPC 2023 #7 - £0/£2000 -
Hi Everyone
9th September
Another NSD. That's number 5.
Chicken and asparagus quiche from freezer for dinner and have made beef in red wine casserole for tomorrow using all the ingredients from what we already have.
Hospital visit today so just a little walking. Was hoping to make up for the inactivity at the weekend but the weather isn't looking too good at the moment.
C's christmas books arrived from Amazon. The're now all wrapped up. It's not that I'm super orgainised. I just hate wrapping and writing cards so I'm trying to do it a little at a time.
Haven't done any tidying/clearing. Hope to tackle some of that on Monday.
No 1 cousin (she of yesterday's cocktails) phoned me to say that she's trying to arrange a meet up with some other girly relatives (well we all think we're still girls). That would be lovely if she can find a date that suits everyone.
It might not be making much of an effort at “me” time but I'm really enjoying my reading (and pot of tea) at bedtime. Storming through my second book.
I was reading in our local paper that food banks are also desperate for toiletries and cleaning products. We have loads of soap/shower gel etc in our bathroom cupboard (presents that have never been used) so I'm going to look these out and add them to my donation.
Have a good weekendHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0
