Morning everyone,
Sadly yesterday wasn't a NSD as I ended up having a munchy box delivered for dinner from the Indian at a total cost of £10. 'Twas nice though
I kind of stuck to my meal plan for the day although I strayed from eating what I said I would for dinner (a burger) and consequently spent more money than planned.
I spent time on myself in the usual way, reading, and I managed to finished my first library book of the month (The Couple Next Door). I'm rubbish at book reviews so I'll just say it was a quick and easy read which I enjoyed.VSPC 2019 #10 - £168.80/£100 VSPC 2020 #4 - £262.03/£200 VSPC 2021 #9 - £242.88/£200 VSPC 2022 #3 - £188.03/£200 VSPC 2023 #7 - £0/£2000 -
HI everyone
3rd September
Another NSD (Number 2)
Chicken defrosting for Sunday dinner and everythng else already bought
Had a chat with C today. We always spend far too much on one another at Christmas time buying things we don't really need. We're going to Amsterdam in January for a week so this is going to be our Christmas present to us. So we're going to buy lots of little inexpensive treats (books, chocolate, etc ) to open on Christmas day.
We went into city centre and walked a bit browsing in book shops. Not as much exercise as I hoped but still a little. Had a lovely lunch and couple of glasses of wine (C's treat)
Because we were out all day didn't tidy inside our out. But – a little story. Whilst sorting out junk drawer the other day found £2.00 Tesco voucher and a “used” M & S gift card. Checked today and the gift card still has £20.00 credit on it. As no-one is claiming it as their own it will help food budget for this month.
Sent a note to my cousin who lives on the east coast of Scotland. She doesn't keep well and even a phone converstation can be a bit too much for her. I have asked her to give me a call when she feels she can manage.
Early to bed to with tea and book.
Have a lovely and peaceful day.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Morning all,
First check in for September! I have had a NSD on Thursday and yesterday so up to 2 :j
Today will not be as I need to go to wickes and get a waste pipe attachment as I'm getting my dishwasher delivered on Tuesday so need it to plumb in (currently washing machine hose is just shoved down the pipe but not room for another!). If I manage to install it and reinstall the washing machine successfully then I will order my new washer dryer today as well as figure it's easier to swap it now than when I am getting the kitchen done as will have room to store old one whilst I try and sell it. Also need to go to asda to buy a replacement bath towel as a guest stained one and some salad.
Eating- don't need to make room for Xmas food but freezer is sorted and organised. Going to defrost my small one today I think. Cooking a curry using chicken from freezer today.
Presents- have enough paper, just need to buy family cards. Already bought two pressies last Xmas in the sales and will keep my eye out. Going to do some flavoured vodka for friends so will keep a look out for good priced bottles.
Time- I love my baths so this is usually my evening treat
Empty- going to clear out my jewellery stash as most is costume I don't like. Want to see what I do like and then buy a few cheap pieces
Meet- already did this yesterday as had lunch with a friend I've not seen for a few months
Bed- bedroom is done, I only need to put my fans away when it cools down. To be honest I only ever put my Autumn duvet on for a few weeks in Jan, I use the summer one nearly all year! Plan to weed and cut back the front garden today.
Exercise- starting healthy eating and exercise this week. Aiming for 4 gym sessions!
Reading- need to get to library but not sure when I'm going into city. However I am reading my CS bargains at the moment so am still reading!
Feeling a bit hungover so going to browse on here with another coffee before starting the cleaning!:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -
Not a NSD yesterday - did the food shop (but within budget so quite pleased) and also had a night out with some friends. Managed to only spend £14 on said night out so happy with that!
Today will be a NSD. Just having a day in the house - hubby will take children to see their Grandparents this afternoon... should tidy, but think I'll be playing online and watching TV instead! Just feels like today should be a nice lazy day - a rare occurence with a 2 year old and 3 month old!- [STRIKE]Credit Card: £2,989 / £2,989[/STRIKE]
- Bank Loan: £12,000 / £14,000

Hi All
Great to see so many new faces doing the challenge this month. Its been a very busy week chez Bob. Between DS starting back at school although a new school so new travel routines to establish, carrying out viewings at the business, & working shifts at the pub I really havent stopped.
So far money stuff has been ok Im waiting for the cheque to clear that we had back from the remortgage, that should be tuesday. Then I can see more clearly whats available for what.
Great to see you back Welshkitty

Hi all.
I have spent a bit this weekend, well yesterday really. I bought DS a sweatshirt and some jeans in the CS for £2 each, a dress and two tops for DD also from the CS for £6 total. Then we went out for lunch but we did get 20% off food and drinks with my AA membership, plus it was so yummy. Then I called at Tesco and we got wine, beer, cake and cheese.
Zero Waste Week starts tomorrow, I've signed up. For some reason I can't post the link. We do quite well although the kids do turn the nose up at a lot of food which then gets wasted (teeny bit of over browning, slight mark on fruit etc ). We could do much, much better with food packaging waste, I recycle all I can but that is not the answer so I will be looking at bringing less in to start with.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Hi all
Bagged my first nsd of the month yesterday :j Hopefully I'll bag lots more of these from tomorrow once I'm back at work tomorrow. It's rained almost non stop for most of the weekend so no real hardship to stay indoors.
I've just had my 'me' time with a long soak in the bath, ready for an early night tonight and an early start tomorrow. Started reading my unfinished book again for the third time - question is can I keep going with it this time? I have spent today - needed a few random bits like light bulbs and insoles but I am already in my nightie at 4pm - just planning dinner and an early night. It's all a bit boring but I get a bit 'meh' on the approach to going back to work...Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control
