SFD number 2 today :) Made tea from leftover parsnips, sausages and batter so had toad in the hole with roasted parsnips. Not much else to report; cleaned the house and did tonnes of school work.

  • Hi everyone!

Thank EE and Bob. It's nice to be back :)

Spends - I have managed 3 NSDs so far. Tomorrow will be another spend day as I need some business items but these will bring me a profit later in the month. Weekly food shop done so should manage a few more NSDs this week.

Eating - have done a meal plan for the next week and have also done a bit of batch cooking today to use things up from the fridge. This makes meals after work easier as well as stopping things going to waste. Have also got lots of lunches made up in the freezer so just need to grab one in the mornings before leaving for work.

Presents - pleased to report that most of my Xmas shopping is done! The scooters we wanted for the little ones were on sale from £300 to £120, plus we got a £10 voucher for each one we bought, so they are safely stored under our bed. Need a few little bits for DD as DS currently has a lot more than her, but £20 should do it. Also got lots of candles half price that will be going into pamper hampers for friends/family so not much more needed.

Time - will use this to look after my skin a bit better, so taking time after a bath/shower to use up some lotions and potions.

Empty - today this was a kitchen cupboard. It's now very tidy and I can see what's in there which will help me to meal plan better. Aiming to tackle 1 area on each day off.

Meet - will arrange a play date with an ex-colleague and our children. Local play centre is free on a Monday, so will take advantage of that.

Bed - will tackle the bedroom this week. We don't have a winter duvet, but have extra blankets we can add in top if needed, so will sort through these so they are ready when needed. Unfortunately can't clean under bed, as mentioned previously.

Exercise - need to make an effort to get out in the evenings for walks. This will also give us an opportunity to forage for blackberries and apples.

Reading - I fell out of love with reading at the end of my degree, but it will be nice to read something for enjoyment rather than for the purpose of an assignment.

    Hiya,

Here's my pledges - Had a bit of a bonkers 24 hrs as my DD ended up in hospital, but she's doing much better now.

Spends: 14 NSD's - 1 so far. Today's NSD was overtaken with hospital parking fees and food purchases!

Eating: Already fear we may go overbudget this month, but have menu planned and done a huge Aldi shop for the basics. Need to focus on this one. DH will be making soup tomorrow from tonights chicken dinner, and left-over chicken will be main part of tomorrow's tea, so that feels like a positive start.

Presents: List of people sorted, and budget mostly sorted, but still lacking ideas for most! Got 2.5 presents bought already. Going to work on ideas and will aim to spend approx £200 of budget before end of Sept.

Time: Never struggle with this one!

Empty: The wardrobe of doom is in my sight. A bit scared to open the door as something may fall out on me!

Meet: Got a friends 40th camping weekend mid-month, but that feels like it is cheating a bit. Will spend some time this week having a think about who I need to see and get on the case.

Bed: My DH will be all over the garden and we don't have a bed to hoover under - glamourous mattress on the floor for us. Instead, I'm going to focus on getting our kitchen DIY finished -this will have to happen in the evenings as all weekends taken up this month with working or friend visits.

Exercise: Been so lame with exercise since my DD arrived. Going to start doing yoga - been recommended a great website to get free vids. Going to aim for 10 mins every day, starting tomorrow.

Reading: I'm so on this one - got a book out about 10 days ago - MUST RENEW by 8th - Bring up the bodies by Hilary Mantel - sequel to Wolf Hall, which was a way better read than the TV series, and BUB is living up to expectations too.

Looking forward to hearing how everyone is doing.

    Cheers Ramble x

SFD number 4. Quiet day, lots of sleeping (wasn't what I had planned).

Another cupboard sorted, two more books ready to be returned to the library. Read 35 pages of the manual for the new operating system on the laptop before my eyes started glazing over. One load of washing done and out on the line. Think it's time to turn the mattress but can wait a week or two.

Gave DS1 seven tubs of B & J ice cream yesterday - DS3 keeps getting it in his takeaway offer and doesn't eat a lot (saved 3 for when his gf comes next weekend. A whole drawer free in the freezer.

Asked DS1 how much his new bed cost - £680. Think I will have to keep scouring the charity shops for DS3's replacement one. The price is probably a fair one and the bed would suit DS3 but too much on top of the house jobs expenditure. Will postpone for now.

Still eating leftovers - no hardship as these are party leftovers. Had wedges, chicken gougons, used up a dip and roast veg yesterday (still 2 portions of veg left - probably all my 5 a day in one box and nearly all the colours of the rainbow). The chocolate cake is dated 3 September so unfortunately I will have to try and eat that. Maybe DS3 will help as I am not going anywhere to share it.

Paid a bill and weeded out more old paperwork.

Today I am grateful for lovely weather, restful sleep and getting more done - trying to be happy about the things I am ticking off the list and not stressing about what is still to be done.

Another NSD so 3/14 done. Pleased with that - may not be able to stretch tomorrow out to be a NSD though!

I've had a fairly productive day - leftovers for dinner - so using up what's in the freezer! I've also done a fair bit of cleaning today - although I haven't touched the cupboard under the stairs the one under the sink is sorted!!

I've also had some 'me' time this evening curled up on the sofa. I feel a bit better today than I did yesterday and will hopefully feel fine tomorrow so can do a bit more exercise.

    Hi everyone
I've had a lovely afternoon at the local park with dd's and dgc. There was a small local fayre on with a small dog show, falconary and ducks. Dgc really enjoyed it as they were racing all around whilst we watched supping a cup of tea and eating hm cake. So not a nsd as it cost me £2.55!! Really cheap and enjoyed by everyone.

    So still 2/14 nsd

Today has been a bit of a washout :( Nothing much done towards the goals set. I managed to grab a shower as a bit of me time and that's about it. Never mind, onwards and upwards!
