Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Name Dropper I've been Money Tipped!
Decided to do a proper food shop yesterday after work to save having to go over the weekend. Meal plan is done, just need to stick to it now :) I also bought some tubs of chocolate to take into my work as it's my last weekend. Today I'm planning to go a wander round the shops to get ideas for Christmas presents.

  • HI everyone

    So 2nd September

    My first NSD

Sausage casserole tonight and have cooked Goulash for tommorrow's dinner both using all the ingredients from what we already have in house.

Wrapped some of Christmas presents that I have already bought.

Went to library and got two detective novels by Stuart McBride.

Had a long, relaxing shower using some lovely toiletries that I was given as a present ages ago. Went to bed early with a pot of camomile tea and started reading my book.

Hospital visting today so didn't manage a walk in the park but journey to and from hospital invloves about fifty minutes walking to and from train stations so a little bit of exercise at least.

Tidied the spice drawer whilst waiting for dinner to cook.

Sent an email to my brother in Canada. He's even more rubbish than I am at keeping in touch but I'm determined that even if he doesn't reply I'll send him another one in a few weeks.

Did some more flower pots. It's beginning to look a bit dull on the plant front so I'll have to look for some autumn bedding plants to brighten things up.

It's lovely to meet you all and see how you're all doing.

    Have a lovely day
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.
  • Good morning everyone :coffee:
Lots of new people this month. Welcome all to this fantastic thread. :D
Yesterday didn't go exactly as planned and I didn't manage a nsd either for one reason or another, but it was fine. Time seems to be the one thing that I'm short of in life. I'm hoping for a nsd today - I may need to spend on medicine but I know that this doesn't count as long as I don't spend on anything else. I have a little suspicion that I may be anaemic at the moment and I'm prepared to try whatever I need to in order to feel better whilst I'm waiting to try and get a doctor's appointment. Is it wrong that I'm sneakily hoping that dh will go out today so I can get him to pick it up for me? :cheesy:
Other than that, today's plans are to relax. I'm the only one up at the moment so plenty of time to myself right now. Also I want to get my school bag packed and sorted for Monday (boo hiss) and I want to sort through the various food stores and plan meals for the week ahead because I'll be too busy to think about it come Monday.
  • Won't be a NSD today. I have to do the food shop (hoping to do it for <£50), and also out for a bit of 'me' time tonight in the form of a wedding reception with some friends!

    Debt-free and Proud!
I'm in a long queue so thought I'd update on the challenges so far...
My plan is to break down the 10ish challenges and get one rolling each day.

    -2 NSDs so far

-I normally meal plan on a Friday, and this time I made it a mission to find as many frozen pea recipes as poss (I have a tiny freezer which is 1/3 full by the bag of them)

Today a mini food shop for ingredients for Minty pea and potato soup, and pea pakoras. Its Waitrose (I do my main shop at Lidl or Tesco, but live in the centre so Waitrose is closest for topups) Also going to grab the toilet roll offer I think I saw on here, as I have pick your own offers and the 9 pack are also on sale when you buy two.
And free coffee and paper which I will then use for the puppy (the newspaper not the coffee!) :)

    Thanks for the welcome!
  • Hi everyone

EE - I don't sleep very well these days, I don't think it's anything in particular and I have good night's and bad ones, but as I'm retired I can have a lie in if needed.

2/14 nsd will be completed today as I'm not going out anywhere it's been raining all morning and it will be too wet to work in the garden or lottie. Tomorrow I'm off out with the dgc and Dd's so some ice creams will be bought.

After lunch I will be going upstairs to my craft room and working on some Xmas ideas for the dgc I'm not very good at all this but I do enjoy it.

Hope you all have a good weekend

  • Grrr. Another spend day - I thought I had stem ginger in the cupboard for today's ginger cake recipe. No. Cue quick trip to Waitrose. Very annoyed. This afternoon will be spent auditing the pantry - while having some ME time. (Around top20 Star Trek episodes on CBS action. My vice:rotfl: Spock and that eyebrow:o)

Thanks for the challenge EE. I have been trying to keep up with the posts over the last two days but have fallen behind and haven't even got my own declarations up yet

Welcome back TOG, we missed you :)

Spends – aim for at least 14 NSD’s. - will do I achieved one yesterday and intend to achieve another today. I've already been shopping without spending anything (I browsed whilst my sister bought) and turned down a request to go to the cinema tonight.

Eating – I don't host Christmas at mine so don't need any extra room in the freezer however I have just finished batch cooking all the meals I need for September as I'm back to work on Monday and envision the usual crazy Autumn term antics to start early.

Presents – I need sellotape and wrapping paper. I've just order two parts of presents and my Christmas cards from a charity today so preparations have started.

Time – Does it count if I spend 10 minutes thinking about having a bath?! I so wish I had one and as soon as I am debt free I will be having a new bathroom...watch this space.

Empty – Definitely need to do the two kitchen drawers.

Meet I will be seeing a lot of my family this month for various family get togethers but have a couple of friends I will also try and get to commit to a date in the diary.

Bed– Will do the garden during this month.

Exercise – I am doing two exercise classes a week and walking the dogs seven days a week :)

Reading – I am going to try and read a work based book that I read extracts out of years ago and was pretty good. Although if I manage to read whilst back at work it will be a miracle.

I will also donate to the local foodbank next time I go shopping.

I have just looked back at last year and I wanted to be debt free, independent and financially secure - think I am doing pretty well on all accounts (nearly debt free!).
