A quote for today:
''Keep your head up! It's easy to get down on yourself, but don't let a tough day or a mean person ruin your mood. Stay focused on your long-term vision and rules for your life to energize you every morning and keep you going through long afternoons, hectic weekends, and late nights. Stay strong, push on, and never give up on what is important to you.''NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Please could I join this month? I have been a silent follower since July (and averaging about 10NSDs) but I'm hoping that properly joining in will make me more motivated!
Absolutely love the challenges and reading how people are getting on.0 -
Evening everyone :hello:
Time for a daily report
Spends – was doing well up until this evening. I hadn’t spent a penny but then I booked a class for my baby on the 30th Sep which I had to pay upfront. Ended up shelling out £5.50 for it, he better enjoy it!
Eating – I stuck to my meal plan for the day. Breakfast and lunch tomorrow will be the same as today but I still have to sort dinner. Contemplating whether to pick something up from the supermarket or buy myself a cheapie burger meal from the Indian. It only costs £3.50 and I’d probably end up spending more than that in the supermarket! Plus I have £20 left from my grocery/entertainment budget this week……
Time – I managed a nice leisurely shower whilst the wee one slept and continued to read my book.
Reading – continued with my current library book, should hopefully get it finished tomorrow and then I can move onto my many others.
I reworked my budget and added a new category for baby classes. I've just been taking him to the park up until now but the weathers getting a bit iffy so we need to find indoor stuff to do and unfortunately that's not always free!VSPC 2019 #10 - £168.80/£100 VSPC 2020 #4 - £262.03/£200 VSPC 2021 #9 - £242.88/£200 VSPC 2022 #3 - £188.03/£200 VSPC 2023 #7 - £0/£2000 -
Spends/Budget – £51 spent in asder. Some items off my monthly stock up list and some frozen fish, beer and fruit & veg
Eating – Used up some bacon and some cake I got with my lunch allowance. The cake was so bad I couldn't eat it I am going to email the company to let them know.
Presents – No progress on this today
Time for me - I am going to chill out and read my book shortly and will put some tan/moisturiser on my legs
Empty – No progress on this today
Meet – Nothing to report on this until meet up on 18th but have texted to friend to arrange to go to village panto together
Bed– Ordered some sample wallpaper and fabric for DS room. It is a lot of money but I have had my eye on it for months and he loves it. He will have to because he will have it in his room until he leaves school (he's 6 at the minute) :rotfl:
Exercise – Will have a 20 minute run tomorrow then 6 miles on Sunday
Reading - Logging off to read my book in a minute. Read to DS last night and tonight, something I don't get chance to do when I work awaySave £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%

NSD number 2. A quiet relaxing day with a few bits of domestic stuff. Still eating leftovers from the fridge.
Thanks for the quote.

Apple – loving your quote for yesterday. It’s so true, why do we wait for 1st Jan to start afresh when we can do it any day?
Buffy – spending with friends in need of support are a good excuse for a spend day!!
Florence – excellent work on the Xmas stuff, you’ll be sorted in no time.
Evkizzy – Glad to read Minky is all back to normal. Cats are such a worry at times!!
Nannygladys – congrats on 1000 posts. What made you wide awake at that time of the morning?
Toni’sfriend – you are storming through the challenges I set. Go you!!
Calling – I know how you feel, I did my sink a few weeks ago. Unfortunately it is mainly alcohol and we rarely drink it so will donate the wine or I might keep it until Xmas and have with lemonade. I have whittled down my cleaning products so the same few do all the jobs rather than having 1 for each type of cleaning. I can also now fit my new, larger slow cooker in there, my mixer and all my large bowls.
Ljaneyr – of course you can join. Welcome.
Pepperoni – great news about your husband’s new job and the shorter commute. I always wonder how people manage who have really long commutes.
364ab – hello and welcome.
Everyone is doing so well, thanks all for posting.
I am reporting a spend day today, forgot my soya milk for work so had to buy some although I used a Waitrose gift card I found in my purse which had money on plus got card for DS's girlfriend - she has just got her first job, she's 19 and just finished college but has family issues and anxiety so I was worried about what she would do without DS who is off to Uni. Thankfully it's all worked out ok. Girlfriend was very chuffed with the card, I doubt her parents did anything to congratulate her.
Not started any library books yet - am thinking I will make an effort to go to bed early tomorrow so I can start one.
Have a good weekend all.0 -
Spends - still no NSD. Spent another £2 something in Tesc0 on milk, cucumber and something chocolatey (OH put it in the basket) + some money on files and paper for the teens. Am trying to record all spends this month, whatever they are (Had to write a £20 chq for DS1's school today)
Exercise and Me time - took a walk along the canal path by myself. Ok, it was more of a slow meander than a power walk, but I got out!
Eating - last of the lo risotto for lunch for me. OH wanted a takeaway for dinner tonight but we made chicken nachos instead :T Chicken was YS and from the freezer
Christmas - 1 book ordered for DD - was on offer and with cashback

Spends – Not a NSD as went out for my friends birthday. Bought two gig tickets as well
Eating – I will do a serious and epic food menu at the weekend when I have more time, I am desperately trying to get my OH to go through Jack Monroe's cook book and label recipes he is willing to try (he is very fussy) so I can come up with cheap dinner meals as my OH favours expensive meals like scampi and chips, indians and chinese.
Presents – have made my lists. Some presents I am still thinking of ideas for. Also I have the epic plan of trying to pay for nearly everything through amazon vouchers received from apps and surveys so must crack on with that.
Time – I haven't been very good at this but any spare moment I find in the day I seize. Today I had a chilled out hour at home alone.
Empty – got rid of 4 bags of stuff yesterday and am now of the opinion that if something isn't nailed down I'm going to sell it so will crack on with that as well.
Meet – Saw my friends today, haven't seen most of them in a while so that was nice.
Bed– will probably take our duvet to be cleaned soon, as well as dry cleaning my winter coats.
Exercise – going for a jog tomorrow, got the 10k happening a week on sunday.
Reading – .Aargh, finding the time to read is difficult but do have a lovely big pile of books from the library.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

Day 2 went well!!
Spends – Another NSD in the bag 2/14. Pleased with this as I've managed 3 in a row which for me is no mean feat.
Eating – I am super happy about this - all lunches taken to work this week - nothing spent on the cob van!! I am usually good about home-cooked meals etc as I have vetoed all takeaways on a weekday until we are in a better position financially and any meal out needs to have been pre-planned!
Presents – I'll be honest - I've not touched this yet! Will make a start this weekend.
Time – Me time - nothing much yet. Planning on lots of this next week though (I'm off work).
Empty – The cupboard under the stairs still needs tackling - my plan this weekend at some point. I've also decided the cupboard under the sink could do with a clear out too.
Meet – This I still need to do but we do have an evening booked at new place in town. I'm looking forward to this.
Bed– wardrobe still needs clearing and summer/winter clothes moving around. Might also see how much new cushions will cost as mine feel like bricks!
Exercise – I've only hit 8,000 steps the past 2 days.
Reading – still need to charge that kindle....
Budget - everything's looking good so far. Money in joint account for bills - credit card overpaid this month.February Grocery Budget: £190.75/£350.00
