I let Sky TV cancel and called the Winback team.
I thought I had agreed to a reasonable offer, but on checking the order confirmation email (whilst on the call) I saw that the advisor had removed HD and UHD to bring the cost down.

What I thought was agreed for £61 was:
    Signature
    Ultimate
    Netflix premium
    Sports (+HD)
    Multiscreen
    HD (not actually included)
    UHD (not actually included)

I immediately questioned this but the advise couldn't change it as the order had been placed.

I was transferred to cancellations/retentions who also couldn't resolve it -  they offered to add UHD/HD for £15 but I did not agree to it, so they have escalated it for someone to listed to the call.

My position with them was either honour the agreed service and price, or cancel it immediately.

Has anyone had experience of being 'missold' an offer?
Yeah exact same thing happened to me, offer was at the price I wanted to pay but they removed HD. I called/chatted and made a complaint. The user listened back to the call and then said I wasn't told the HD had been removed so gave me HD for the 24 months of my contract for free. You need to do that.

It's astonishing that in 2025 we have to pay extra to watch in HD.
I suppose we should be grateful that there is not an extra charge to watch in colour instead of black & white!
There is, a black and white tv license is £57.😃

Has anyone else left Sky and NOT been contacted with an offer to rejoin, even months later? We cancelled in the summer, let the cancellation go through, then did nothing as we were abroad for a couple of months so it suited us perfectly to not have that cost. Having not had any calls from them, I expected to return home to see one or more of their 'come back to Sky' flyers on the doormat, but nothing. Have they changed their approach does anyone know? (Or are they just sick of customers who are prepared to play the game and let their services cancel every couple of years for the extra savings...  )
I have.  No contact after cancelling apart from return stuff 'how to' and confirmation.  I am totally glad I have shucked off SKY as not interested in sport.
I cancelled last week - due to go off on 5th December. I have just received an email offering my existing package for £6 pm less than my current discounts - now why couldn't the agent have offered me that a few days ago !!
Signature £24.50; Sports £18; UHD/HD £5. Signature is 24 month contract - the length of the other "deals" isn't mentioned
I'll give it some thought before phoning -EXPECT that there will be admin fees !
Interesting. I also put in notice to cancel last week, for around the same date. The email I got only offered Signature cheaper - £24.50 too, but only £1 cheaper thank my renewal offer, and still more than the £18.50 I pay now.

If you go ahead, double check your future bills on their website, as I had previous emails stating increases from 16/12, and those were in addition to the yearly increases.

£58.50 - it's gone up (I suppose they've got to find £10 billion for Trump from somewhere ...)

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

    Hi all,

I'm hoping someone can help? Have entered the final 30 days today.

I was paying 2 years ago £27 for sky q signature with ultimate, HD and sky go, but prices have increased during the contract to £37 which I'm not happy about (37% increase over 2 years seems high to me).

I'm therefore happy to cancel and either go with freesat, pay for the recording box and pay for netflix which should be cost neutral after 2 years,

or the same package again for around £25 - is this realistic?

or a basic sky q essential package (so freesat + sky q box recording) around £10.

I know sky q is no longer pushed but my wife definitely wants recording, so either sky q or freesat box.

My questions are which of the two packages above is more realistic and can someone either point me to a post with the steps on how to cancel (i.e. best ways of contacting without being led round the houses to get to cancel) or detail the steps on how to most efficiently cancel?

Appreciate there's probably repetition of information in this thread, it's just unfortunately quite long for someone who normally doesn't use it.

    Many thanks in advance.

Let it go off and on the day it goes or just after call them up and see what they offer you.

As for Freesat boxes you will have to see what channels are on that compared to Sky offerings.

There is also Freely TV set or soon a Freely stand alone box that's meant to be out B4 Xmas as an option.

Thanks, phoned up today and the best the person apparently based in Cardiff could offer was £34.
My wife only wants freeview/freesat channels so TV essentials is other option for me. Is there any difference in the offerings between freesat and freely, or is it essentially the same but one through the satellite and the other through broadband?

You mentioned your wife wants to be able to record programmes.
You can't do that with Freely.
So you need to look at a Freesat or Freeview box that records.

Freely is an internet based device where the TV programmes are streamed if you don't have an aerial or if you have an aerial you get it from that.

With Freely you can go back to watch a programme streamed through the internet thesis no record function.

OP will have to go to Freely, Freesat and Sky Essentials(Q or Stream) and see what channels they show as some are not on available on all set ups.

D/Spy forum has a thread on Freely and is quiet usefull.

    EDIT

If the OP is going down the Freesat route they will need to see if their LNB is hybrid or bog standard Sky one. Sky one will not get Freesat.

    I got offered the following:

Just for you, we’re offering a special package—our manager has approved a Sky Sports Complete Pack in HD free of cost for 24 months, including HD. You’ll enjoy all Sky Sports channels and the Premier League at no extra charge. I hope this makes you happy! ✅

✅ Sky Signature is normally £40.50, but you'll pay £24.50 (with a 24-month contract) This offer is for 24 months.

✅ Sky Sports Complete Including Sky Sports+ Pack in HD is normally £40, but you'll pay £00.00 (with a 24-month contract) This offer is for 24 months.

✅ Sky HD is normally £9, but you'll pay £4 This offer is for 24 months

✅ Netflix Standard [2 screens without Adverts] £10.99

It brings your total to £39.49 a month.

I know the inclusion of sports for under £40 is good for that package, it's just not something I need unfortunately as we're looking to save. I'm also guessing that in contract increases would push that over £55 over two years.

Unfortunately they wouldn't budge on the sky sig price.

Also asked about sky q tv essentials and £15 was all I was offered.
