I started via phone but they switched me to message after I logged in, ,then after interacting with the robot ,I got switched to Whatsapp.Boohoo said:
Sky do make it hard to cancel or recontract though.brewerdave said:Well pulled the pin today - after nearly 2 hours on Whatsapp got down to nearly what I was after - he tried hard but "assured" me he had used all of his available discounting powers !!
Final offer - 24 month deal -Signature /HD/Sky Sports /Sports HD plus Netflix with ads (12 months) -£53.50
After I declined that he came back with QTV Essentials @ £15pm - I queried whether this was available for Q customers - he said for VIPs only !!
All going off on 5th December. Now the wait ....
He also offered Sky SIM totally unlimited for £10pm and 100Mb fibre for £19 pm during the toing anf froing..
I didn't know they did WhatsApp as I have done mine by online chat or mysky app.
What price range are you hoping to accept from Sky ?
I was looking for £50 pm for my existing package of Signature/HD/Sports. I know that some have got better than that recently.
I played hardball mainly because he kept telling me what superb value it all was ! Told him that Sky Sports is a pale imitation of the past unless you are into football. Little cricket and virtually no rugby union.
Said I didn't want Netflix so could he knock a bit more off but he made it clear that Netflix had no real monetary value !
Also just realised he didn't mention the infamous admin. fees !! Wonder if that would have made an appearance at a later date .0 -

https://www.sky.com/help/articles/tv-essentials lets you keep using Sky Q without any paid channels - nominally I think it costs £15/month, but I've heard of people getting it for as little as £5/month.tired_dad said:once the contract ends you have to return all your sky q equipment. Is there way to keep it?
Its going to be pointless in around 3 or 4 years time - Sky will be going satellite free anyway !

In my Santander banking App under ‘my first home’ is what would be an unbelievable deal - £0 for 24months with a £5 fee that is then credited back as well for Sky Stream, TV, Sports, Netflix and Fibre 150. Clicking the link doesn’t allow you to take advantage and tries to get you to sign up from the off at £59 a month sadly

Had a mail shot from Sky offering Signature and Cinema for £30.50 which I thought was really good.Dr_Gonzo_95 said:Phones Sky on Tuesday to cancel.I was offered £83 forSignature
Kids
Netflix standard no ads
Cinema
and Super Fast BB
I’m paying £92 (with kids as well which I don’t mind losing) at the moment and my contract ends on 14th November.
had a call from the retentions team today offering me £58 for all of the above (but Netflix with ads).I want a lot closer to £50 for everything otherwise I’m either going to virgin or a mix of free view & Now TV
Do you think I’m being unrealistic?Called them up and found out that was without Netflix or HD and I could get them both for £4 each.So that is an amount I am comfortable paying to keep Sky Q and all the kids films we have saved. They couldn’t do a deal on the broadband, said it was £46 (max I can get is 20Mbs) so I moved to Virgin for £23.99 for M125.Sky called me the next day and said they couldn’t do it for 50% off at £23, but that was too similar to Virgin’s price and significantly slower, so I’m sticking with Virgin. It’s a bit more than I ideally wanted but it keeps the family happy, which is the main thing.0 -
Glad you found a deal that worked for you.Dr_Gonzo_95 said:

I let Sky TV cancel and called the Winback team.
I thought I had agreed to a reasonable offer, but on checking the order confirmation email (whilst on the call) I saw that the advisor had removed HD and UHD to bring the cost down.
What I thought was agreed for £61 was:
Signature
Ultimate
Netflix premium
Sports (+HD)
Multiscreen
HD (not actually included)
UHD (not actually included)
I immediately questioned this but the advise couldn't change it as the order had been placed.
I was transferred to cancellations/retentions who also couldn't resolve it - they offered to add UHD/HD for £15 but I did not agree to it, so they have escalated it for someone to listed to the call.
My position with them was either honour the agreed service and price, or cancel it immediately.
Has anyone had experience of being 'missold' an offer?

Unless you have a recording of the conversation or you can get Sky to confirm your offer from their recording then there's not much hope.SamDude said:I let Sky TV cancel and called the Winback team.

I am not sure if you can leave as cooling of period for recontracting or renewing is not clear to me but I think you will have be persistent0 -
Has anyone else left Sky and NOT been contacted with an offer to rejoin, even months later? We cancelled in the summer, let the cancellation go through, then did nothing as we were abroad for a couple of months so it suited us perfectly to not have that cost. Having not had any calls from them, I expected to return home to see one or more of their 'come back to Sky' flyers on the doormat, but nothing. Have they changed their approach does anyone know? (Or are they just sick of customers who are prepared to play the game and let their services cancel every couple of years for the extra savings...

It was one continuous call that lasted 90 minutes so it won't be hard to find it! From initial advisor to the Customer experience team to cancellations/retentions.Boohoo said:

I called back to chase it and the advisor (this time in Cardiff) did confirm they are listening to the call - and that I can cancel within 14 days as it is a new contract. I double checked this as I also assumed it was recontracting and not subject to a cooling off period - but was told it is a new contract (and I can still cancel if I choose to).
