But he does not say it direct to someone. He says it as a general rule.Boohoo said:

Please can you tell me where I have belittled them please.JSmithy45AD said:
No it's not if it gets @FluffyBuffster what they want and they're happy to pay it. Trying to belittle them is against the CoC BTW.Boohoo said:
That's a pants deal.FluffyBuffster said:Update from me. After the cancellation emails arrived a couple of days ago - Sky have called this morning and offered £109 for my existing package (which is what I’m paying now) with 500mbps fibre thrown in (currently on 60mbps broadband). Happy enough with that, it mirrors what they offered my ex last week bar the fact he doesn’t have cinema or Multiscreen.Just shows it’s a game of who blinks first most of the time - and their earlier claims of no fibre deals being absolutely untrue.Initially they offered the price of £109 but on current broadband. I said no. Jumped to 75mbps (didn’t know they offered that?!) then 150 then when I mentioned my exes package they said I could have 500. Didn’t even try and argue with me. Go figure.
All that for £80 was what someone on here or another site got
Should of let the TV go off and called them up and see what was on offer.
Who blinked 1st?
@FluffyBuffster 75Mbps is the newish starting full fibre offering from many companies.
As I have said many times on here and others have said if the person is happy to pay whatever the price they get from Sky then that is all that matters to them if others get a higher price or a lower price.0 -
Let us know how you get onbrewerdave said:Another comm. from Sky today re TV contract ending in ~ 5 weeks - hoped for a better offer but ...... 24 months deal @ ONLY £73.50 compared with my current £53.50 - a whole £10 off list price .....OR continue on a rolling deal for 12 months @ £63.50 - Neither is attractive so still looking to start negotiations in 9 days time.0 -
cancelled 2w ago...not a peep. Last time I had to wait until the service was cut before the deals came in. What a nightmare0

You need to serve 30 days notice to cancel then after tv has gone completely off for 1 day call up rejoin team barter down price to signature £15 to £20 kids £1 to £4 HD Free, sky sports £6 sky sports hd free, sky cinema £5 tnt sports £20 ultra hd £2 multi screen £5 neltflix premium £11
If you only any sky Q free-view with recording they can do essential for £5 to £7 a month
DO NOT CANCEL BROADBAND they can do gigafast 900 broadband £25 a month
Sky have 5 lines of defence
First line .- very expensive prices + very expense fee (India based)
Second line - retentions approx 10% off + expense fee (India based)
Third line - before notice gets put in approx 15% discount + cheaper fee (Cardiff/Glasgow/India)
Forth line - in 30 day notice period pending cancel team approx 30% discount + cheaper fee (Glasgow based)
Fifth line- when tv is fully off speaking to rejoin team to get above offers + no fee (India based who have the most power + you need to barter hard to get top prices + get right person)

Hi, has anyone on the Forum recently received an email from Sky saying that their offer has been extended for a further 12 months?
It effectively holds the same price as you are paying now for a further 12 months but an asterik says that the may change. Does this mean an inflationary price change in April 2026?
Has anyone accepted this offer automatically (i.e. done nothing)?0 -
Think I've had them in the past, there's always a caveat that "prices may change" (hint, it means they will change). The upside is that they're rolling monthly contracts usually so you can always leave or use it as leverage.L00king4deals said:Hi, has anyone on the Forum recently received an email from Sky saying that their offer has been extended for a further 12 months?

Don't think I've got the v best deal, but posting in case it helps others as I've certainly benefitted from reading this forum in the past. Apols for length - as an infrequent visitor I always find info about process as well as prices helpful. Was paying £61.50 per month for:SignatureSports complete (Inc plus etc)HD (Inc sports)Certain it wasn't this price when I renewed previously but mixture of annual rises and deals falling off I guess. At the same time price was going to rise by around £20 so cancelled and came off contract in early October. Tried the cancellations team twice in the notice period and got offers over £50 for same package, with usual attempts to bundle cinema in for more content for same money.Refused and service duly fell off. Was still able to watch normal channels but no sky stuff, recordings, apps etc.Called the winback team (0333 759 4554) in first week after for same package as above but also wanted to include netflix (I had been continuing to use this from when I lived in Turkey...but realised I needed a UK sub). Was initially offered signature, sports complete, HD and Netflix (with ads) for £51.50 or Netflix without ads for £57.99. Refused this deal, was polite and simply said the price didn't work for me.Tried again a few days later and was offered same price as above, with inducement of adding cinema for only £2 to above packages. After ending call I missed two calls from their winback follow-up team.Last call about a week ago. They dropped another £2 so £49.50 for signature, sports complete, HD, Netflix with ads or £55.99 for Netflix without ads. This time I managed to answer the call from the other team (0800 761 3372, though you can't call them direct). After some further to and fro where I got offered £48.49 for the package I wanted.Looking at my bill this has broken down into:Signature - 20Sports complete - 16Ultimate - 1HD - 5Netflix no ads - 6.49'admin fee' of £10 waived. Precious recordings etc all back online.I'm sure others will have nabbed a better deal, but this works for me.3

Yes, I got that - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/81555774#Comment_81555774L00king4deals said:Hi, has anyone on the Forum recently received an email from Sky saying that their offer has been extended for a further 12 months?

I assume that the non-discounted price will rise in April, could be up to 10%, as Sky don't limit their price rises to inflation.
And the discount stays the same in £ terms, so the discounted price could effectively go up ~20%
But at least I'm out of the minimum contract period, so I can just give 31 days notice whenever I want.1
