I would just call them and cancel and explain why and they may offer you a deal near to the price you thought you were getting.SamDude said:
It was one continuous call that lasted 90 minutes so it won't be hard to find it! From initial advisor to the Customer experience team to cancellations/retentions.Boohoo said:
Unless you have a recording of the conversation or you can get Sky to confirm your offer from their recording then there's not much hope.SamDude said:I let Sky TV cancel and called the Winback team.
I thought I had agreed to a reasonable offer, but on checking the order confirmation email (whilst on the call) I saw that the advisor had removed HD and UHD to bring the cost down.
What I thought was agreed for £61 was:
Signature
Ultimate
Netflix premium
Sports (+HD)
Multiscreen
HD (not actually included)
UHD (not actually included)
I immediately questioned this but the advise couldn't change it as the order had been placed.
I was transferred to cancellations/retentions who also couldn't resolve it - they offered to add UHD/HD for £15 but I did not agree to it, so they have escalated it for someone to listed to the call.
My position with them was either honour the agreed service and price, or cancel it immediately.
Has anyone had experience of being 'missold' an offer?
I am not sure if you can leave as cooling of period for recontracting or renewing is not clear to me but I think you will have be persistent
I called back to chase it and the advisor (this time in Cardiff) did confirm they are listening to the call - and that I can cancel within 14 days as it is a new contract. I double checked this as I also assumed it was recontracting and not subject to a cooling off period - but was told it is a new contract (and I can still cancel if I choose to).
Just make sure you get confirmation of penalty free because of cooling off period.0 -

Has anyone had experience of being 'missold' an offer?Don't forget the annual price rise - about £10 paAs for your "misunderstanding" - if you want HD - Wait until it appears at an acceptable rate in the app under your account and add it yourself....
If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.0 -
Having been burnt with another provider not honouring everything that was agreed during a phone call, I decided that from now on everything will be recorded. I used another phone to record the call on speakerphone and it worked out fine. There are probably apps/settings out there that will do the same, but it is recommended given some of the shenanigans.

I dont think it matters Miller. I had an online chat with BT on Thursday. Agreed a good deal for TNT Sport. But BT just say he shouldnt have offered it to me. I have a transcript as well :-(0

I have. No contact after cancelling apart from return stuff 'how to' and confirmation. I am totally glad I have shucked off SKY as not interested in sport.Brimble said:Has anyone else left Sky and NOT been contacted with an offer to rejoin, even months later? We cancelled in the summer, let the cancellation go through, then did nothing as we were abroad for a couple of months so it suited us perfectly to not have that cost. Having not had any calls from them, I expected to return home to see one or more of their 'come back to Sky' flyers on the doormat, but nothing. Have they changed their approach does anyone know? (Or are they just sick of customers who are prepared to play the game and let their services cancel every couple of years for the extra savings...

They're right. If an advisor makes a mistake, they don't have to honour it, but it also allows you to walk away without fees too (although you could typically have done that anyway during a cooling off period).Mr_Benn said:I dont think it matters Miller. Just spoke to the BT Value team.. They couldn't even match a price on their own website. Are the days over, when getting to speak to a human to get the best deals ?
Id forgotten how incompetent most of these online chats at BT/ Sky are.

I cancelled last week - due to go off on 5th December. I have just received an email offering my existing package for £6 pm less than my current discounts - now why couldn't the agent have offered me that a few days ago !!MarzipanCrumble said:

Signature £24.50; Sports £18; UHD/HD £5. Signature is 24 month contract - the length of the other "deals" isn't mentioned
I'll give it some thought before phoning -EXPECT that there will be admin fees !0 -
It's astonishing that in 2025 we have to pay extra to watch in HD.I suppose we should be grateful that there is not an extra charge to watch in colour instead of black & white!0
