Yeah I did, took a while to get the package (kind of) I wanted but being persistent was key, I kept pushing for £45, and eventually I got it. You 'should' get the best offer you've had yet. Let us know how you get on.newdriver101 said:
MisterSaxon: Did you let your contract cancel completely for a day? I have let mine cancel as of today. I plan to call tomorrow to see if I can get a decent offer... (or at least better than I was offered pre-cancellation)Mister_Saxon said:
Just for future reference, my account was in a 'Pre-active status' and it took nearly a month to get my package etc confirmed, this meant I had no access to Sky Go, Paramount+, Netflix etc. I had to get Sky Q technical to sort it which in turn meant I missed out on a month of Netflix (Couldn't get this month back apparently) and I didn't realise Sky HD was not activated. After I initiated Sky chat I managed to get Sky HD applied to my account for no cost for the length of my contract - which I thought was good of them.Mister_Saxon said:
After a 2 phone calls with Sky (overseas call centre) I have managed to get the below deal:Mister_Saxon said:Hi, so I have given notice to terminate my Sky Q package after 10 years. It’s set to cancel on 4th September.
My current package is:
· Sky Signature
· Sky Sports
· Sky Cinema
· HD/UHD
· Multiscreen
Price set to increase to £107.50! Hence the cancellation. Ideally, I would like to keep the same package and my Netflix deal has now ended so would like to add standard or premium to my deal as I have read about peoples successes adding these to their packages. Do you think I could get a better deal than the £59 they are offering with Netflix (with ads)? I was going to give them an opportunity to keep me as customer in my last week of cancellation, but I have read letting it cancel for the day is the best way to get a better deal. Any help would be appreciated.
· Sky Signature £24
· Sky Sports £6
· Sky Cinema £7
· HD/UHD £2
· Multiscreen £6
· Netflix with ads free for 4 months then £4.50
Persistence was the key factor, I must of been on the phone for over 40 minutes across the 2 calls, they constantly kept saying higher prices were the best deal, offering Sky stream which I flat rejected. When I spoke to the first person they said they were having technical issues, so someone else would phone me back. The second person just offered me the £45 I was asking for. Very happy with that deal and it proves it is still possible with a bit of will power, and determination.2 -
I've now had the email "New offers in your account" for when my current deal ends in early Dec. The offers are for 12 months ,no contract , £20 pm discount from "list" prices ,but £10 pm more than current deal.
Email goes on to say "Relax, nothing for you to do -offers added automatically" - No ,don't think so Sky - cancellation phone call coming early November0 -
I am approaching the annual dance. Current discounts for TV total £49.50. They emailed me with out of contract rolling discounts which total £43.50 for at least another year by the looks of things. What this certainly does is give a much firmer negotiating point.

I still have Sky+HD - don't really want to switch to Q or Stream as internet at house is terrible... Paying £45 for Sky Sports and Signature - they now want £85 from next month. If i let cancel - can they switch Sky+HD back on... I had multiscreen with them but when they switched off 18 months ago (I cancelled then) - they couldn't switch that back on... Anyone know what will happen if I cancel?0

Sky are trying to get rid of+ so you may get a deal for Q .ijbleeds said:I still have Sky+HD - don't really want to switch to Q or Stream as internet at house is terrible... As for cancelling and then switching back on Sky may say it's not possible so you have to have Q or Stream but that's a gamble you have to take.
If switch on is possible all your recordings should be there but going to Q or Stream recordings will be lost.
As for poor internet is it to the house phone socket or WiFi?0 -

Sky Q doesn't rely heavily on good internet, whereas Stream does.ijbleeds said:I still have Sky+HD - don't really want to switch to Q or Stream as internet at house is terrible... So, my contract on Sky TV ended and when I called up, they refused to haggle, so I cancelled (I have until beginning of November when it gets switched off).
I don't have a massive subscription compared to some:- Sky Ultimate TV
 - Netflix (upgraded to no ads)
 - Sky Cinema
 - Ad Skipping

- My contract by the end was £47
 - They want to put it up to £54.89
 - New customers can get it for £42
 - Equivalent with NowTV and Netflix direct is £30.97 (covers the channels I watch most plus Cinema)

>> At what point did others start getting 'please stay' offers?0 -

One reason why I would never get Sky glass is what is the TV like when you don't have Sky TV services?PinkKatniss said:So, my contract on Sky TV ended and when I called up, they refused to haggle, so I cancelled (I have until beginning of November when it gets switched off).

Buy a new TV and then get Q or Stream is what I would have done
Not much options really as they know you have Glass and think it's stupid to get Stream as Glass does it all .
Just let it go off and wait for any deals but this year Sky seems to be giving out high price per month deals compared to the few years.2 -

There was a bloody good deal at the time with Glass, and I did check that if I ever cancelled the TV was still fine. I was moving across country and upheaving my whole life with a lot of upfront costs. This was a no interest finance (plus the deal on the package at the time), and it worked out best for me with my circumstances at the time.Boohoo said:

I've not lost anything, I can still use the TV, I'd just prefer to stick with Sky if they can give a better deal. Otherwise I will use NowTV instead.

Without a subscription the 1st gen Glass (no idea on the new one) is just a dumb TV with an average screen with decent sound. Stick a Firestick or AppleTV box in it if Sky want to play hardball. I presume there's no offers in your account.PinkKatniss said:
