I presume any recordings from Sky Q disappear as soon as the switch off happens even if you're able to agree a new deal soon after?
They never used to if you take out a new deal after switch off. As long as you stay on Q and not go to Stream.

Unless things have changed in 20 month's when I last took out new deal after letting Sky Q switch off.

No, they'll still be there but you need entitlement to actually view them. Sky won't/can't remotely delete recordings.

Best/Latest offer (Renewal was £135 including Fibre 100)

Sky Q Signature / Sky Sports/ Sky HD/ SKY UHD, Multiroom, Sky Cinema, Netlfix basic with ads, and 500 Broadband for £103

7 days before the contract ends - The advisor advises letting it cancel and calling back for Stream, as some good conversion deals are in the pipeline.
There are much better deals available all of the time on Stream compared to Q, just be very sure that Stream is for you (try the Sky forums, there's sticky threads that explain the differences). It can be very difficult to switch back if it doesn't work out and you'll still have to try and get a better deal. That £135 figure is (in MHO) atrocious.

    I got…

    Sky Ultimate TV £19
    Netflix Standard £6
    Sky Cinema £8

    Plus £30 bill credit.

I get the two free Vue cinema tickets per month which saves me around £22. Plus Netflix standard would usually cost £12.99 if paying direct to Netflix.

So having Sky pays for itself at the moment.

Any great trick in getting essentials with multi room at £15 or lower? Paying £25 for signature, £12 for multi room and out of contract this month.

Would happily renew signature, multi, HD, sports and Netflix at £50 but not being offered anything like that on any retention calls.

Hi, so I have given notice to terminate my Sky Q package after 10 years. It’s set to cancel on 4th September.

    My current package is:

    ·         Sky Signature

    ·         Sky Sports

    ·         Sky Cinema

    ·         HD/UHD

    ·         Multiscreen

Price set to increase to £107.50! Hence the cancellation. Ideally, I would like to keep the same package and my Netflix deal has now ended so would like to add standard or premium to my deal as I have read about peoples successes adding these to their packages. Do you think I could get a better deal than the £59 they are offering with Netflix (with ads)? I was going to give them an opportunity to keep me as customer in my last week of cancellation, but I have read letting it cancel for the day is the best way to get a better deal. Any help would be appreciated.

After a 2 phone calls with Sky (overseas call centre) I have managed to get the below deal:

    ·         Sky Signature £24

    ·         Sky Sports £6

    ·         Sky Cinema £7

    ·         HD/UHD £2

    ·         Multiscreen £6

    ·         Netflix with ads free for 4 months then £4.50

Persistence was the key factor, I must of been on the phone for over 40 minutes across the 2 calls, they constantly kept saying higher prices were the best deal, offering Sky stream which I flat rejected. When I spoke to the first person they said they were having technical issues, so someone else would phone me back. The second person just offered me the £45 I was asking for. Very happy with that deal and it proves it is still possible with a bit of will power, and determination.

Just for future reference, my account was in a 'Pre-active status' and it took nearly a month to get my package etc confirmed, this meant I had no access to Sky Go, Paramount+, Netflix etc. I had to get Sky Q technical to sort it which in turn meant I missed out on a month of Netflix (Couldn't get this month back apparently) and I didn't realise Sky HD was not activated. After I initiated Sky chat I managed to get Sky HD applied to my account for no cost for the length of my contract - which I thought was good of them.

MisterSaxon: Did you let your contract cancel completely for a day?  I have let mine cancel as of today.  I plan to call tomorrow to see if I can get a decent offer... (or at least better than I was offered pre-cancellation)
