Anyone ever got a new contract at say £55, then found out on here someone has got the same deal for £45, so you go back to Sky and they honour the cheaper price found of £45?  Or do they cover themselves by saying deals change on a daily basis?
In my experience - customer service agents deny that other customers have got a better deal than I am being offered - EVEN when I said I could send them the proof !!

Correct. They are trained to deny all knowledge and lie.

Is there anyway/hack to get through to the Glasgow winback team to discuss coming back to Sky without having to deal with the dept based abroad. My Sky finishes today and the offers been given so far are laughable, close to £30 for signature and hd, none of my negotiating tactics this time appear to working with Indian chat dept. Will call tomorrow when it goes off.

There's some phone numbers a few pages back but not sure if they go to the Glasgow centre or India. I read somewhere they moved the winback team to India this month.

Mine's gone off today, waiting to see if I get any more letters or a call.

They are impossible to negotiate with outside of a couple of pound down on there initial offer, totally unreasonable, never had this before, been negotiating for years. Doesn’t bother me personally to let it go as have plenty of other ways to watch tv but others in household would not be happy with a diffferent box. So need to get a deal.
  • Had no luck trying to haggle with sky this week.
Tried all of Martins methods of what and to not what to say and still tgey wouldnt budge on thier prices!! So i have cancelled again so hopefully they come back with a Deal! Been with sky for 10 years now

The number I was provided for the winback team was 0333 759 4556. Try that and see how you get on. I rang them on 12/9 and was offered Signature,Sports and Sports HD and Multiscreen for £52 both times by them so just accepted - had one day to go like yourself

Rang 0333 759 4761 and ended up with getting a huge discount on my gigafast full fibre (was paying £39 for that) to cover the extra cost of the signature + hd. £54 in total, which equated to £27 for gigafast, £22 for sig and £5 hd. There was a £20 admin fee which he would only give me a credit of £10 against though. It was either that or stick with existing £39 gigafast and £21.50 for sig and hd which would of obviously cost more so went with first option.
Does everyone think that was a good deal overall or do I need to barter more during cooling off period.

I don't think there is a cooling off period for a contract renewal?
  • I don't think there is a cooling off period for a contract renewal?
I just checked my last renewal confirmation email from Sky (back in April 2024) and it includes this text:

If you decide that you no longer wish to keep this offer, you need to let us know any time within 31 days from when the offer is applied ("cooling off period"). If you do this we can normally put you back in the same position you were before you accepted this offer, however, if we're unable to put you on the same package as you were previously (for example because that package is no longer available) we can put you on an equivalent package instead. As you agreed to your services continuing to be provided during this period you will need to pay us an amount which is proportionate to the service provided up to the point you have told us you no longer wish to take this offer. After your cooling off period, to end your TV contract you’ll need to give us 31 days’ notice which cannot end before your new minimum term finishes. Early termination charges are payable if, during your new minimum terms (where applicable), your Talk/Line Rental or Broadband contracts end (other than where you have a right to end them without charge under the terms and conditions) or we end your TV contract because you have breached your terms and conditions.

So unless things have changed, Gold123 should be able to try and use their cooling off period to negotiate a better deal, though no guarantee of success.
