Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

After giving my notice to leave Sky 4 days ago, I had a missed call from Sky yesterday and today received this email…
Currently paying £34.50 and price would have been going up to over £80 for…
Signature
HD
UHD
Ultimate TV Add on
Sky Cinema
The deal offered via email is for Signature and Cinema for £30.50 but doesn’t include HD, UHD or Netflix.I won’t be signing up to this deal.I should add, when I cancelled I was offered a ‘TV Essentials’ (not to be confused with the new Essentials TV) where I get freeview channels along with the recording function on my Sky Q for £5 per month with a 12 month contract. I declined.EDIT: Shortly after posting, Sky called me. I was offered my current package for £46. I declined. He said it would I be cheaper if I switched from Q to Stream. I declined.0 -

Not great, not terrible, if it was just me I'd have held out but it's not worth the whining from others in the house.Mind you it does come with a further 30 days cooling off wondering if there is any mileage in a further cancellation now I have at least this number in as a baseline...
1) Cancel new contract under 30 day cooling off rule. See if that yields anything better. If not
2) Call the number referenced in a recent post that came in the equipment returns box. Maybe it is for post-disconnections, but maybe the box just turned up a bit early... like they'd know or care anyway.
And if no joy there, rinse and repeat next week. Just annoys me getting lied to by agents that they say they have never heard of prices as low as the ones that are frequently quoted on here...0 -

Sky signature - £20
sky sports - £8
Sky cinema - £7
HD - £2
They are also sending me a new sky Q box. That’s £37 per month and no admin fee. That’s better than I was on originally, and better than the offers they gave me before I left. They also said I get 2 free vue tickets per month, which I won’t complain about.
Not sure if I could have haggled more, but I’m happy with that nevertheless.
As for the other question, hmm I’m not sure is the honest answer. They cut me off everything, but when I rang up they said they are re-instating my V.I.P status.

Just phoned them up to cancel.
They offered me their best final price of £48.50 per month (incl. the april price rises), a 2 Year Contract.
For Sky Q (no sky broadband) with Signature £21.50, HD £4, Sports in HD £23.
Can i get a better deal if i hold out and cancel existing contract etc.
Whats the best i can expect these days?
TIA
Just got a call from Sky, now their best final offer is £46.50 includes april price rises, 2yr contract.
So still said No, i want a better deal. Will wait and see or just go without.0 -
I’m on Ultrafast broadband and it was going to be £44/month (inc price rise) after contract end and including an automatic discount.
Just phoned and renewed on Full Fibre 150 (same speed) for £32/month (inc price rise) and £10 admin fee.
They would not budge on the £10 fee.
It only took 10mins on the phone and has saved me £278 over the 2 year contract.

Contacted Sky as I was out of contract and my bill was going up from £92.30 to £140.
Signature
HD
UHD
Multiroom
BB Superfast (can't get full fibre)
After 2 hours on chat was offered the same package but now with Sky Sports HD & Movies for £94.500 -
Same old, same old. Every 18 months/2 years it's the same. I'm actually starting to loathe the deceit.
Will be out of contract in May. Currently paying £68.50pm for SkyQ, Ultimate TV, Sky Cinema, Netflix, Multiroom, UHD/Atmos... basically everything except Sports. Predicted bill for June rising by 40% to £96.50. "Because of UK government inflation and energy crisis..." You couldn't make it up, except they do.
So, after a little heart to heart this afternoon, they've now reduced it to £60pm for the next 2 years.
Yes, I know...
If in doubt - do something. (With fond memories of Harry Chapin)0 -

My friends TV went off on Saturday, he rang them this morning (on number given above from box) and offer was £18 Signature £17 Sports £5 HD. He declined, like I said he not really that bothered about staying, and was nowhere near prices quoted by mits, and others on here. The bloke couldn’t even guarantee that price wouldn’t go up in May!
edit further update, he was called back..signature £15.50 going up to £18 in 2 months, sports £9 going up to £10 in 2 months, Cinema £7. It was £1 cheaper to get cinema apparently rather than just sports on its own. Average £34.50pm0
