Managed to get a deal done in the end

Sky Q - signature, Ultimate plus Netflix premium
    sports, sports +,movies, UHD, HD,
    fibre 500mb

    includes April increases

    £97/month

pretty happy with it as it’s £5 a month cheaper than I have been paying and that would have gone up with April as well.

Didn't push things, quite a quick call.

    Sky Q
    Signature
    HD
    Two screen netflix
    Broadband

24 month contract £66. Includes April increase.

Seemed ok was getting quoted £94 ish before the call as just coming out of contract.

Probably not the best but was surprised by the lack of hassle.  Sky VIP customer if that makes a difference, unsure.

My Sky Q goes up to £184 per month, from May payment.!!! (130 currently)

best they would offer at weekend on the online chat was £140 month incl April increase.

said if they can do £120 incl increase, would sign up!!! would not go under £140

    calling back later in week

    this is what i have
Sky Sports Complete including Sky Sports+
    Multiscreen
    Sky Cinema
    Sky Signature
    Sky HD
    Ultra HD
    Boost to Netflix Premium

    And

Sky Broadband Superfast (37mb as on phone line) no fibre on openreach here, waiting for City Fibre
    Sky Broadband Boost
Sky Talk Evenings and Weekends Extra
And I thought I was getting hosed...

The only difference between my package and yours is that I have TNT and don't have broadband/phone, so frankly we should be about evens for price (TNT alone is close to £30). I ended up on £105/month, which I still thought was a bit 'toppy'
Well just cancelled again under the cooling off period. Interestingly I thought that would just take me back to my original cancellation date, but it apparently starts a new 31 day notice period. No dice getting a better deal on the call, but I have plenty of time. This could be an ongoing rinse and repeat saga...

    Just read this online -

Sky has announced plans to axe 2,000 jobs at its customer service centres and close three of its ten contact centres. The contact centres that will close are Stockport, Sheffield and Leeds Central.

The proposals will affect around 7% of its workforce. Its operations at Dunfermline and Newcastle would also be scaled back, according to Sky News. The company said the proposals, which are subject to consultation, are down to more people using its digital services to contact its support team. Sky expects the number of customer service calls to drop from 25 million a year now to about 17 million by 2029.

The number of calls won't drop because people are using digital services, they will drop because they have considerably fewer customers

That's due to Sky becoming a  purely streaming service in a few years - they reckon that Satellites are too expensive.
    That's me out - after 22 + years !

It’s a shame. Virgin really put me off because it was almost impossible to speak to somebody.
Sky going to streaming is no surprise. They’ve got the contract with the satellite provider into 2029 which was only recently signed, so they’ll want Sy Q for a period of time to justify that. But yeah, we will all be getting migrated over to streaming, and equally I expect the service to become better, more reliable etc in the coming years

I rang Sky yesterday with regard to the Sky Go £5 a month payments going forward 4 months when my Sky ends on 1 April.  He said it was a mistake and once it fully cancels if it does not disappear he will look into, but I have to let my subscription cancel first.
He did try to tempt me to stay and offered me £24.50 instead of £31.50 currently on offer or the full price of £40.50 and no admin fee due to my VIP status so no increase this year, but I am sure there would have been next year.
I have got to the stage now where my mind is set nothing would tempt me to stay as got my Sky+ HD box down to 84% free now, usually its the opposite way around and sure I will watch or delete the rest by Tuesday and looking to buy a HD Recorder to take the place of the Sky+ which will cost me less than a year of Sky would even at the reduced price.

I am out of contract paying £80 for Q with signature, Sport, multiscreen and HD
    I am a 23 year VIP customer
I asked for a better deal and was offered £5 to re-contract for 2 years and £9 to lose HD
    I chose the latter option
