Has anyone here moved across from Sky to Freesat and would you recommend?

Yes I have numerous times over the years. It’s free, all you need is a Freesat box. However I understand that Satellite will soon be obsolete. So I would research Freeview or perhaps straight streaming via the channel you’d like to watch.

That being said, I’m old school so like to record onto a ‘box’ and watch from there, Apps are improving but the functionality of boxes are still superior imo.

Not for several years yet - I believe Sky have leased the facility until 2029 ?

Yes 2029/30 is where my research led me, however nothing confirmed just yet. I’ve just left Sky for I think the final time as I only need Discovery +, the app works well enough for me, and Freesat for my terrestrial recordings.

What recorder do you use for Freesat? Is it the official one that Freesat sell?

It’s an old one from 2012 I think. Had to change the LNB on the dish to a universal one as I’d been upgraded to Sky Q last year. Box below.

I was paying £50.50 a month before the price increase. Signature, Ultimate TV, kids and multiscreen. Contract due mid April. Rang then and best I could get was £45 a month, without kids. Gave my 31 days notice. Heard nothing until I got a text today, saying it’s not too late to change your mind and call 03337 594 840. Rang them, and accepted 24 month contract, Signature, Netflix Std, multiscreen, Sports and Movies for £57 with no upfront fee. Will get next April’s increase, but happy with what I got!

that's a good deal considering you have multiscreen and both sports and movies. Is the Netflix standard with or without ads? Also - were you in your last 2 weeks of your notice period? Good to see a decent offer before you were fully switched off
