My Sky Tv is still in contract but my broadband Utrafast Plus was going up from £34 on an open contract offer from last year to £37 so negotiated upgrade to Gigafast, best I could get after numerous tries was £39, no admin fee, two year contract, so gave in in end and accepted.

I gave my notice to leave at the weekend.
Bill going up from £34.50 to over £80.
I have Signature, HD, UHD, Ultimate TV Add On and Cinema. Was offered same package for just over £60. I declined.

I’ve just had a missed call from this number, 0800 761 3372. A google search tells me it is Sky. I’m guessing they’ll call again but don’t hold up much hope they’ll offer a deal I’ll be happy with.

I’m all ready to move across to Freesat.

Will update when I have more info.

Just nearly had a heart attack when I realised my Sky offers had ended and next month's bill was going up from £107 to £161!
    Package is now:-
    Signature                 £35
    Ultimate                   £8
    Sports +HD              £33 +£2
    Cinema                    £13
    HD                           £9
    Multiroom                £15
    Full Fibre B/B          £46      Totalling  £161

Have just come off Sky Chat (which ended unexpectedly without confirmation of cancellation) and was offered the following:-
    Signature                 £24.50
    Ultimate                   £10.50
    Sports + HD            £24  + £0
    Cinema                    £10
    HD                           £5
    Multiroom                £13
    B/B                          £34      Totalling  £121

Have priced up Virgin Media which is £79 for a comparable package so definitely not going ahead with this!
Having to pay extra for HD is just ridiculous when broadcasters are all starting to provide HD programmes as standard and all TV's are HD now.
When did watching TV become so expensive???? Hoping that Mits999 knows what they're talking about as I've got a box full of recordings I'd be loathe to lose!

Got back in touch by Chat to confirm cancellation, but it hadn't been actioned. After waiting for 45 minutes to get through, I was disconnected and had to start again. Luckily got straight through this time and was then offered a total price of £115. Still too high for telly!! Have now cancelled the TV bit (31 days notice) but the broadband only had 14 days notice so am waiting a couple of weeks to cancel this.
Will keep you all updated :))) !!
Hi all. Received a text message (27.1.25) asking me to get in touch about my cancellation.Only got in touch today (6.2.25) with 10 days to go before the end of TV as I know it.
Just finished a 1 hour 45 mins online chat. Have now got a deal I'm happy with. Was given 3 different prices today but wasn't interested until they got it below £100/month. I'm sure there are better prices out there but now I can keep all the recordings on my 2TB Sky Q box (It's 86% full........yes i know!).
    So here's the deal:
    Signature                 £24.50
Ultimate                   £10.99 (No ads on Netflix)
    Sports + HD            £11  + £0
    Cinema                    £13
    HD                           £4
    Multiroom                £10
B/B                          £24  (reduced speed to Full Fibre 100 as Superfast not needed)

    Totalling  £97.49

This is a 24 month contract so no haggling for a good while.............
They tried to add £20 Admin fee but removed it as I'm such a longstanding customer (29 years).

All prices valid from April so no increase until April 2026.
Had to really haggle about the broadband and even express an interest in switching (received an email from Vodafone so we'll see if i have any problems!)

    Hi Folks,
Decided to update you all again.
On 22.2.25 I received an email telling me my TV package was going up £7 and my Broadband up £3 in April. Since I'd only just re-contracted on 6.2.25 I emailed them to ask why and attached a transcript of my online chat clearly stating no price increases until April 2026. I never got a reply but kept an eye on my future bills to make sure the price rises weren't added. Luckily they haven't made it onto my account yet!
My March bill was actually a £2.52 credit (just shows how much I was paying before)! And my future bills are all now £89 so £8.49 less than the agreed price! I'm keeping my head down in the hopes that they forget about me!

    For signature I was paying £18.50/month = £36.50 list price - £18 discount.
From April onwards the list price just for Signature is going up to £40.50 so less £18 discount that's £22.50.
So effectively a 21% increase on the net price!

I'm in a minimum contract period until October, but I don't think I will renew at that price when it ends, as most of the TV we watch is FTA or streaming services.

P.S. It looks like the HD pack is staying at £9/month.

I just checked my predicted bills in My Sky again today, and Signature is back showing as £36.50 (or £18.50 net of my £18 discount) for April, May and June.
Not sure why Sky have removed the price rise, and of course it could re-appear before the bills actually happen, but potentially good news for now.
Would be interested to hear if anyone else's increases have gone or reduced?
And now the price rise is back, but from July onwards, and going up to £40.00 rather than £40.50, so less my £18 discount means £22 for signature.

I wonder if Sky worked out that £36.50 -> £40.50 was a greater than 10% increase, even on the undiscounted price.
Whereas £36.50 -> £40.00 is a ~9.6% rise, so less than the 10% maximum stated in the contract.
Of course for me its £18.50 -> £22.00 which is more like a 19% increase to the net price...

Still showing as £40.50 on my future bills before discounts
  • I've been watching this thread with interest over the last month or two. Here's my experience:

I only had Sky Signature, Ultimate and HD, I was paying £37.50 but was quoted £43 (with various loyalty deductions) after the April rise. I cancelled middle of February, and other than a text and an email quoting me £34 for the same package, I had no phone calls.

Middle of March, I recieved the box to send back my Sky Q box, inside was a leaflet with a number to phone (0333 759 4761) for a final offer to stay. I phoned the number and was able to get Signature for £15 and HD for £4 (Not bothered about Ultimate/Netflix). So, £19 per month guarenteed to next year with April's rises already factored in.

The haggling process has changed with Sky now, they're prepared to call your bluff, so you have to call theirs and wait until the service is cut off. Only then will you be able to get the decent deal. Hope this helps

Very good info, thanks I will pass on to mate of mine, his tv goes off Saturday and although I’m not sure he that bothered about staying, that’s a decent price and fits in with @mits999 info earlier in the thread. Glad you got a good price
