What I find most annoying /perplexing is the enormous range of deals being offered. Looking back a few dozen pages ,there are a few customers getting extremely good deals still , whilst others get offered little or nothing !
You used to be able to play chicken with them by cancelling - now it seems that doesn't always work. One reason - MONOPOLY !And they know it...before anyone starts with - what about virgin etc - its not the sameSky has the monopoly of TV broadcasting in UK

Who has ever heard such tosh - I have been having an email conversation with Sky Priority Customers - trying to get a better deal - when all of a sudden they stop replying to meThe reason - I hadn't sent them proof of ID for 48 hours !Evidently - I have to prove my ID every 48 hoursI refused and asked them to prove who they were !IDIOTSSent this to them
"You have not confirmed YOUR security details – ever – and without proof of who you claim to be – I am unable to discuss my account.
Once security has been confirmed – I will be more than happy to discuss my enquiry with you."

Was paying £76 for basic sky package + Sports + Netflix + 2 x mini boxes. (this had crept up from £63 over the two year deal with in contract increases)
The new price would have been £107 so I called them to cancel. They did a bit of umming and arghing and came back with a deal of £79 pm but I'd lose the UHD (didn't know I was paying for it anyway) and would need to lose one of the mini boxes (in daughters room but she's now got her own place so no big deal) In reality they hardly offered any discount, they just took away services.
Said no and wanted to cancel, thinking they'd come back in a few days with a better offer.
I got a message saying the services would be switched off within 4 days and I would be refunded any money due the following month.
I still waited for the phone call from retentions - nothing.
I got a package through the post asking me to return everything and true to their word, 4 days later they switched everything off.
This was about 2 months ago. I've returned the equipment and heard absolutely nothing from them since other to acknowledge they stuff has been received.
Our TV is now watched through the various Iplayers / ITV X etc.
It was a royal pain in the **** for a couple of weeks but now we are used to it it's not too bad. Literally the only thing we miss is the TV guide but there are ways of seeing whats on.
If I miss the ease of things I just think about the extra 1k in my account at the end of the year.I bought a Freesat box which has a TV guide and apps.It also has a (slightly buggy) app on my iPad.Mine is the 2TB model so I can record; it also allows you to go back in time in the TV guide.0 -

Recontracted today for my grandparents, a customer of sky for 24 years!
Absolutely no loyalty discount offered, and ended up paying 50p less than a new customer without bundled Netflix
Really shocking but they know there's no other option really.
£75.50/m for Sky Q with Sky Sports HD & TNT Sports.
Tried my best and suggested cancelling, and rang back when the first advisor was of no use. Really disappointing0 -
Was previously paying £78 for this package. When I first called to cancel the price quoted was £100+. I spoke to them again towards the end of the notice period and it was £93. Finally phoned today (2 days after cancellation) and accepted revised price of £85.
