Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

When I checked yesterday, Virgin Media had TV (with Sky Sports), Broadband and Phone for £59.99 (I think the phone had weekend calls included, check their website for the detail). Not quite at negotiating stage with Sky yet, but that's a useful backup and also opens up moving the landline to a voip provider and ceasing the ADSL line.

You can guarantee Sky knows what (relatively small) percentage of people actually go through with the cancellation even after giving notice.1 -

When I left 10 years ago they threw an amazing offer at me to get me back in the door, and that paid back for them over the following years I stayed there on decent but not remarkable deals.
Even if I sign into the website now and look at TV all I get are offers for Sky Glass which I honestly have no interest in whatsoever.

Are people getting emails/text with the actual costing of any offers they give you? It's been 2 weeks since i cancelled after not being happy with the discount the offered, and got a text saying, "we're sorry you want to cancel sky tv" and gave me a number and link to review my options. Is that how people are getting the better deals?0

Where did the link go? Was is the standard (rubbish) "offers" page on sky.com, or a different page with actual offers?
I never received anything in my notice period, but contacted them 2 days before it was due to cancel and agreed a deal. Based on other posts here, I probably could have got another £1-2 off per month had I let it cancel and then contacted them.0 -

Has anyone had a good deal on Ultrafast Broadband? I am out of contract on my Broadband and they have just upgraded my area to Ultrafast. The only issue i have is my mother has a Lifeline, so thats delaying an upgrade.0

My success with Sky. Was paying £38/month when came to end of contract. They refused to offer anything below about £50/month, so I cancelled my contract. 14 days in I called and was offered £44/month. The day before the service stopped I called them back and was offered the below at £32.50/month, plus £20 fee. I refused the £20 fee, which they eventually waived by speaking to their supervisor. This is for Sky+HD.Sky TV: £16.50Sky HD: £4Sky sports complete: £1224m contract; discount for the full 24 months. If they had just offered the £38/month at the beginning, I would have taken it.0
