My s-i-l has just had a long and tortuous negotiation with Sky - he had virtually everything but they wanted over £150 ! the lowest they would go was £114 without the broadband.
He has now moved to BT/EE for the same packages and will be paying £114 - with a deal on EE for TNT Sport and broadband included.0 -

Now left SKY for good (I think) after 20 odd years
Was paying £76 for basic sky package + Sports + Netflix + 2 x mini boxes. (this had crept up from £63 over the two year deal with in contract increases)
The new price would have been £107 so I called them to cancel. They did a bit of umming and arghing and came back with a deal of £79 pm but I'd lose the UHD (didn't know I was paying for it anyway) and would need to lose one of the mini boxes (in daughters room but she's now got her own place so no big deal) In reality they hardly offered any discount, they just took away services.
Said no and wanted to cancel, thinking they'd come back in a few days with a better offer.
I got a message saying the services would be switched off within 4 days and I would be refunded any money due the following month.
I still waited for the phone call from retentions - nothing.
I got a package through the post asking me to return everything and true to their word, 4 days later they switched everything off.
This was about 2 months ago. I've returned the equipment and heard absolutely nothing from them since other to acknowledge they stuff has been received.
Our TV is now watched through the various Iplayers / ITV X etc.
It was a royal pain in the **** for a couple of weeks but now we are used to it it's not too bad. Literally the only thing we miss is the TV guide but there are ways of seeing whats on.
If I miss the ease of things I just think about the extra 1k in my account at the end of the year.0 -
So just realised the cost of my Sky subscription WITHOUT cinema or sports, nearly £100!!!!!! Has anyone managed a better deal? Diamond VIP with 15 years.0

Read the past couple of pages of posts to determine what price you should be after, but be ready to have to put in your cancellation notice before getting anywhere near a more reasonable price.1 -
hozza94 said:Just been offered this when I was cancelling (via live):
Sky signature £24.50
Netflix £11.50
Sky HD £5
UHD £0.33
Sky Sports Complete including Sky Sports+ £24
TNT sports £27
Total £92.33
Will go for cancelling now as it is just not worth it. Does anyone with the same packages able to comment on what they managed to get?
HD + UHD back to £5
Signature now at £20.5
Sky sports at £21
Holding out for a better deal!0 -
My TV contract was up and the bill had gone to £158, which is totally unacceptable. My broadband contract is due up at the end of September too. Gave my notice for the TV to be cancelled the day I went away on holiday, so I’ve had a few weeks without any TV. On my way home I messaged Sky on the website to see if there were any offers on TV before I looked around. If the price wasn’t right I told them I would be moving my broadband too. This is what I’ve ended up being offered on a 24month contract:
Sky Signature £20
Multiscreen £5
Ultra HD £2
Sky HD £9 - free for 3 months
Sky Sports Complete including SkySports+ £8
Sky Sport HD £2
Cinema £9
Netflix without ads £10.50
Ultrafast 1 broadband £27
Total - £83.50 for 3 months, 92.50 thereafter.

Not thrilled with my renewal offer.
Originally had Sky Signature, Sky HD + Multiscreen = £36/month.
Renewal offer online was the same for £53/month. Called Sky and the agent couldn't do any better. Said I would think about it and call back.
Called back just now and the best they could do was £50.50/month for 24 months, which I've reluctancy accepted.0 -
Why has Sky suddenly increased its prices so dramatically - and why are the "offers" not worth it ?It's about time that customers stood up and said "no more"Who's with me ?
If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.0 -

What I find most annoying /perplexing is the enormous range of deals being offered. Looking back a few dozen pages ,there are a few customers getting extremely good deals still , whilst others get offered little or nothing !
You used to be able to play chicken with them by cancelling - now it seems that doesn't always work.1
