Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

No worries. I must have just missed the 24 months thing, mine was 18 months and it was about three weeks ago I accepted. Mind you even with the mid term price rises with a 24 month contract that I suspect will still end up cheaper than the first price offered when an 18 month deal expires.1

The spots I would say yes, but not sure how much we really watch on Sky TV channels.is that fixed for 18 months or liable to annual increases ?Either way - that's a good deal - do you plan to accept it ?I have tried to get eiher Signature HD or Sports UHD out of them for that £45, but no such luck.I need to check with channels on Signature we watch, and see if HD is really worth it on them. I have currently got UHD on Sports, but because its HDR my Samsung TV just makes the picture darkeranyway, so have to fiddle with tv settings.Ive pretty much told them not to bother with Sky Cinema as dont watch it that often now.2

BoxingSurfer said:My contract term lapsed recently. I noticed when my direct debit jumped from £61 to £105. My package is TV only:
Sky Q with Sky Signature, Sky Sports (Complete), Sky Cinema, Netflix (Premium) and Sky HD.
I was paying about £53 at the start of the contract 18 months ago but the inflation increases have pushed that up to £61. Even with discount I thought the value was questionable and the cost pretty steep - at the edge of affordability for me. No way I could afford to pay the undiscounted price.
I called sky to cancel. They offered me a discount for the package that was still +£8 / month more than my previously discounted price. I turned it down and proceeded to cancel everything.
Got a phone call a week later offering me the existing package for £60 /month. Breakdown as follows.
Signature £22.50, Sport £12, Cinema £13, Netflix £8.50, HD £4. (24month contracts are the standard now it seems)
I wanted to benchmark these prices against what others have been getting recently. I'd kind of made up my mind to cancel, so its weird now having to consider not doing so, and I still not really know if this is good value.
Any insight appreciated

Any insight appreciatedIf it helps I was getting the below for £55 pm. Best thy offered pre cancellation was £68. Few days after I cancelled they offered this which I took. Yep more than I paid previously but I was too tired to leave it and leave it and then have to send it all back. Strangely my bills are showing at £7.00 per month at the moment, maybe because my £55 pm contract was till 6th July. I'll have to contact then again because I don't want to be walloped with a £200 bill in a few months when they realise their error!
Sky Signature at £22.50 normally at £36.50 18 months offer
Sky Cinema in HD at £13.00 with Sports
Sky Sports Complete pack in HD at 14.00 normally at £39.00 18 months offer
dependency offer on Sports and Cinema remove any one price may differ
Sky HD at £5.00 normally at £9.00 18 months offer
3rd party services Netflix Standard plan without ads at £8.50 normally at £10.50 with Sky only 2 screen
There's an upfront charge/admin fee of £0.00
you will get Paramount + worth £6.99 and Sky Go for free with Sky
Total £63.00 pm

I cancelled Netflix with them and days later saw on their 2 months free for the standard with ads version of it. HD/UHD are 31 day rolling contracts so you can give 31 days notice then cancel it and wait for it another offer to pop up. HD impacts channels like Sky Max,Witness,News,Nat Geo etc.
with the Euros and Wimbledon currently on.0 -

I reckon I might have got a couple of quid more if I let the cancellation proceed to termination, but in the end I decided to take their offer just to avoid the hassle involved. I actually used my Sky Q box for other services.
So I'm getting the same package, same services for £1 less than I was paying with my previous discount. Acceptable for me at this point. Yes 24 month contract means i will likely have a couple of mid contract price increases, but again I don't sense that Sky will offer a significant enough discount to fully mitigate that.
Breakdown as follows (this is all delivered over Sky Q), for reference:
Signature £22.50,
Sport Complete HD £12,
Cinema £13,
Netflix (no-ads) £8.50,
HD £4
24 Months, £60/month total
Thanks to all for all the useful insight.0 -

Sky aren't trying that hard...I've received several "Welcome back" offers at £22/month.Today I received two in the post, priced at £24.50/month plus £10 one-off fee, plus price rises. It says it's saving me £276 over 24 months; I can think of a way to save £598 (ie. £24.50x24 + £10) over 12 months. It also says "The most affordable way to get Sky Signature and Netflix together".Except on their website the general online price is still £22, so I've no idea what the heck they think they're offering me and the "The most affordable..." line is questionable.0

You don't need Sky to watch those.

My current deal ends on the 17th of July.
Currently paying £96 a month for:
Sky Signature, Sports, Cinema, Sky HD, Ultra, Ultra Add-on, Netflix, Broadband and 2 Multi-rooms.
Price quoted from 18th onwards is £152.50.
I haggled with them and got them down to £119 but still more than I wanted.
I have put my 31 days notice in for all services but don't really want to lose them.
Too much hassle switching providers.
What's the chances of them discounting more? £105 I would bite.0
