I have everything except Kids ieSignatureUltimate with Netflix premiumSportsCinemaHD+UHDMultiroom
List price for all of this is £120.50 = crazy!
Just got off phone with retentions and their best offer was £94 so started the 31 day clock
Any advice?
Thanks0 -
Don't accept an offer you're not happy with and remember to factor in the price increase. What is having Sky worth to you and what can you afford? If you don't watch a lot of Signature only channels you may be happy without Sky and going down the Now TV route for just Sport and possibly Cinema. You probably need to let it switch off for a few days to get the best deal. There aren't many great offers from Sky anymore though which is why so many are leaving. Don't let Sky CS panic you into taking a contract you're not 100% happy with, they have a tendency to increase the price of the deals to you until it does cancel saying there's nothing better available. You may be lucky and get something worthwhile though.Ratinthekitchen said:I have everything except Kids ieSignatureUltimate with Netflix premiumSportsCinemaHD+UHDMultiroom

Thanks for reply. It's a massive game of bluff, I don't actually want to cancel and that's what they rely on. My just expired contract was £72 and before that £66. I was expecting an increase but there has to be a limit at which point its not worth it and I think I may have reached it. Now to tell the wife I've just cancelled Sky.......0

Sky know a lot of customers put in cancellation as a bluff to get a better deal, this is why you have to let it switch off now to get anything decent. You should get it for around the £72 you were paying though.Ratinthekitchen said:Thanks for reply. It's a massive game of bluff, I don't actually want to cancel and that's what they rely on. Not sure if this will help anyone as I guess it’s quite a unique situation.
I moved from Sky Stream to Sky Q recently and the advisor offered me Multiroom for £10 a month. I said no as it was too much. When the engineer came to install Q, he said they had engineer offers. I was able to get 2 months Cinema free with no contract and also Multiscreen for £5 a month for 18 months, with the fee for the Mini box waived as well.0 -
I don't want to jinx it for you but keep an eye on your future payments as I've seen plenty of these engineer deals that aren't quite what they appear over the years on here.ccdorset said:Not sure if this will help anyone as I guess it’s quite a unique situation.

I’m currently paying £110.50 for my Sky package (up from £103 in April) and my contract will expire 14 June 2024. Really not sure how it crept up so high but obviously, it’s a huge monthly cost. I also pay approx £43 for TNT Sports (already out of contract) and Disney+ just renewed at £109.90 for another year (even though nobody in the house watches it).
I’m on a mission to get the monthly cost down.
The individual breakdown is:
Sky Signature: £31.50
Netflix Ultimate: £8.00
Sky Sports HD: £30.00
Sky Cinema: £13.00
Sky HD: £9.00
Multiscreen: £15.00
Ultra HD: £4.00
I’ve looked at my previous bills when I renewed my contract, It was £95 per month which looking back now, seems a bit high.
My TNT Sports package is £42.99:
TNT Sports: £30.99
HD: £6.00
Multiroom: £6.00
Looking through the Sky offers, it appears that TNT Sports / Discovery+ is much cheaper through them (£27) as they don’t charge extra for HD or multiroom.
So, I can’t do much until 14 May but understand that unless they give me a decent offer, I need to give them 31 days notice in order to get better offers from the retention team. Admittedly, I don’t want to leave as the house is all wired up with the Sky Q and mini boxes but I’m currently paying over £150 per month which is too much. What do you reckon is a good monthly price target with all of the above included and are there any other tips you can advise in negotiating the price down? I’m also a VIP Platinum customer of over 10 years if that makes any difference.
Many thanks

I would suggest give 31 day notice to cancel, once the tv is fully switch off contact them they will do everything for approx £70 a month to £80 a monthmarchesini46 said:I’m currently paying £110.50 for my Sky package (up from £103 in April) and my contract will expire 14 June 2024. So the routine is that they are unlikely to offer anything decent unless I completely go through with the cancellation and let them switch it off.mits999 said:

If I can manage to get what I have now for £70-£80 inc TNT, that would be a 50% saving - which I'd be well happy with. Just got to let the missus that we might be without Netflix for a few days but if it works, then it'll be worth it

Due to the mid contract price rises I'm going in, I may be a while.0
