Has anyone managed to get an upgraded Sky Q box for free (non UHD to UHD for instance)?0
-
Yes. I had an old 1Tb Q box which was HD-only. The hard drive started making too much noise so I filled in the form on the Sky website to get it replaced. A courier brought a new box the next day and I swapped them over on the doorstep, handing over the box, power cable and remote. I got a new 1Tb UHD/HDR compatible box as a replacement without having to pay any upgrade fee.JSmithy45AD said:Has anyone managed to get an upgraded Sky Q box for free (non UHD to UHD for instance)?
I think it's pot luck as to what box you get. Sky customer services seem to have little clue about the different box types so it's always worth trying a box swap to see what you get. Just remember to take your viewing card out of your old box before doing the swap and put it in the new box, otherwise you'll need to get Sky to send you a new card which can take a few days.1 -
Anyone looking for a deal on Sky Stream - I had 9 months of paying £22.50 for Entertainment, Netflix Premium, UHD/Atmos and ad-skipping. I asked to cancel after several months of troublesome issues (the Stream pucks and remotes are pretty cheap and nasty). I’ve since cancelled completely as I still don’t think the service is worth it, even at half price, but if you like it then do try cancelling completely and you may get offered a similar deal.

I actually managed to get someone sensible who has ordered a free 2TB UHD box for me happily.Easylinkselecta said:

Could anyone give me an indication, please, of what would be a good price to aim for for Sky Signature, Sky Sports, Sky HD & Sky Sports HD?
I've left it too late but my contract runs out at the end of this week so my next bill will increase from £48 to £51 and then with the April increase it will be £54.50.
Many thanks in advance.0 -
As a rough indication the quote I received recently via Sky's online Message Service (overseas call centre) for Sky Signature and Complete Sky Sports on an 18 month contract was £46.50 including the April 2024 price rises which is almost a 41% increase on the £33.00 which I currently pay on my existing contract which expires towards the end of March. They made absolutely no attempt to keep me and as a Sky Diamond VIP customer for almost 25 years it was very much a take it leave it scenario. I was so disgusted at their blatant attempt at profiteering I told them to cancel and I pay my final bill next week.NB My offer does not include HD which I have always refused to pay as a point of principal so you will need to guess it and add it to the £46.50. Also watch out for them also trying to stiff you with a £10 admin fee. You've not left it too late. The negotiation and adjustment to your account can be done in minutes provided the price they quote is acceptable to you. There's no way to avoid the April 2024 price rise.1

If you are out of a minimum period offer then full price for Signature/Sports in HD is a lot more than £54.50 ! Are you sure of that figure ? ? Sky must have continued with some sort of discount as the "full" price for that package is £84.50pm !!Mardrew said:Could anyone give me an indication, please, of what would be a good price to aim for for Sky Signature, Sky Sports, Sky HD & Sky Sports HD?

Hiya,
I have just cancelled my package due to a huge hike in costs, now after reading on here maybe I was being hasty. I have Sky signature, sky cinema, sky kids, HD, Ultra HD and Netflix without ads and they were saying i would be 66.50 after April. Does that sounds ok for that package or bad? How much has others been able to get for sameish package? Thanks

That's expensive imo. I have full pack inc sports and multiroom although only the basic Netflix and after the April increase will only be paying £55.50MissScotia01 said:Hiya,
