If you have bought them as per "Buy & Keep" then even if you stop being a Sky TV customer, they are still yours, but of course to see them you need some kind of compatible device.
See https://www.sky.com/help/articles/about-buy-and-keep-rentals for details of what computers / tablets / phones / other devices you can see your Sky Store purchases with.1 -
Hi All,
I've had Sky since 1993, first time 6 yrs then had a 6 month rental and couldn't have a dish. Then for 25 years in family home, but moved out to a flat in Aug 22. I've had Sky at the flat for 18 months and the deal is about to run out. For 15 months I had both accounts running concurrently.
Sky are not interested in the previous near 31 years of being a customer. They only consider the account I have currently. Existing deal is £81 and ends on 22-MAR-24. Going up to £122 in April. I called on 29-FEB and was offered £90.50. I called today and was offered £95.50! I have:
Signature (Inc Discovery +)
Netflix UHD
Sports
Cinema (Inc Paramount +)
HD
UHD
Broadband (to APR-25)
I'm going to call one more time in a few days and if nothing better is offered will ask to properly cancel TV.
Is there a best time of day/month to call, do you know?
Thanks,
Peter

Help needed.
I've previously haggled with virgin for a number of years with some success but as it was package a,b,c or d under different names it seemed easier to get a final package price. My 18 months is now up with sky (as I moved to a non virgin area) and I have basically the full package ie.
signature
sports
TNT sports
ultimate tv add on
cinema
HD
Ultra HD
Multiscreen
Mini box
Broadband 35
Netflix
My original deal was £114, but at present paying £124 and then gradually increasing each month when certain discounts end to £191 in June 2024.
I certainly won't be paying that but would love some ballpark figure to aim at for something similar. I can't read all the threads from 2016 but it seems from the last few pages of posts that I would be stupid to pay that amount. Here's hoping you can help a sky newbie.0 -
I think this is the year I will cancel. Previous years I've managed to get them down to anything from £45 to £55 with an April price increase of a couple of quid or so. My contract (signature, Netflix, Sports, Cinema, HD) finishes in July but just noticed April price rises jump my package up over a tenner in June!
Did message them this morning and was given the old I will find a good deal for you but he came back with £74.00 a month for the same package and he didn't budge. Frustrating because whilst I can get Netflix, Prime and You Tube via my TV the aerial has been knackered for years hence why a Sat Box with recording was ideal because the TV just won't set up any TV channels., I have an old Sky HD box but note on here that the Sky Q transformer is different so assume SKY HD will therefore not work? Also saw someone suggest a Freeview 2TB recording box, is that an option?
Guess only other option if they don't offer a deal is to just go with basic TV package with Sky and dump the sport, Netflix and movies but that means you are paying £32 a month really just for the box. Oh what to do!!

@Max68 Does your TV have a satellite tuner in it? And if so is there a local engineer who could quote to change the lnb for you. It will then work with the TV or old Sky HD box (this would be viewing only though, you wouldn't be able to record on the box). The newer Arris 4k Freesat box is meant to be unreliable and it isn't cheap. I have a hybrid LNB so I'm getting a local engineer, who I've used before, to switch the satellite cables from the Sky wideband connections to spare ones so I can tune my TV in.0

@Max68 I know Sky offer viewing and recording of freesat channels on their Q box, they call it Essentials and normal price for this is £15 a month, although some have had it for as little as £5. I'm not sure if Sky would let you pay to record on the older HD box as that isn't the one you've currently been using. If you could get Essentials on Q for £5 that's cheaper than getting the lnb changed.1
