Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

Current package is below, I'm still on Sky+HD, I'm well out of contract. Phoned today to try and negotiate a renewal. Not much luck tbh.Being on Sky+HD I knew I wouldn't get any deals on that, as there's no incentive to keep an obsolete package going for customers.Best he seemed to be able to do wasSkyQ with Netflix w/Ads, I believe it was the basic Signature packageUltrafast BB (145mbps)Sky Talk without anytime (I don't really make phone calls that much, only had it previously because I got it for free)All for £69Which wasn't great, especially as I could get the exact same packed, on their website as a new customer, for £54. Was told that's probably only for new customers and I wouldn't be eligible for it.Told him I wasn't happy about it and I'd have to think about it, but made it clear I already knew I'd probably cancel. Oh, Diamond Sky VIP customer (24 years), not that it seems to make any difference how long you've been with them now.Thoughts or advice?0

Thought it worth sharing my experience here.
We've been with Sky 7/8 years now and just cancelled - had the full TV package for about £65 I think but just not watching enough to justify it - I only watch the footy and sometimes netflix. Was prepared to compromise and asked them for Signature and sport for £35 pm. They would not go lower than £37 and I've had this offer in the post also.
Not had any calls so assume they aren't bothered in keeping me as a customer.
If anyone else is on the fence about it, I would say I haven't missed it and have now decided to get a freesat 4k box, and probably share a now TV sports pass with my dad (would have done this long ago had I known it was an option!)
But also to mention if anyone is looking at keeping sky, you do not need to pay for the hd pack to get sky sports in hd- it is included in the sports pack
Hd pack only gives you hd for a number of sky channels, the best of them being sky Atlantic.
As for netflix. Might as well do that directly as sky's discount is paltry.0 -

Thought I'd leave my deal from today below. I'd highlight that I went through the online account --->cancel sky---->need more help--->chat option and did not go through the process of putting in my 31 days notice of leaving. Probably could have gotten a bit more off but ultimately, I didn't have the time or energy to go through that circus. Offer price/Full price.
Signature £23.50/£36.50
Sky Cinema £10/£19
Sky HD £5/£9
Sky Kids £3/£7
Ultimate TV Pack (Boost to Netflix Standard with No Ads) £8.50/£10.50
Sky (Q) Multiscreen £8.50/£15
Sky Gigafast £43/£63
Line Rental £0
Sky Pay As You Talk £0
Also waived the £20 admin fee and this includes the April increase.
I had been paying £97 for all of the above, but with Ultrafast BB, rising to £146 next month after the 18months. But with the change in Netflix bundle limitations and the fact I'm now getting 900mb internet for an extra £3.50 over what I pay now, I'm satisfied. Perhaps not the best deal out there, but without going through the leaving avenue, I'm happy with the end result.0 -

@max86Max68 said:@Dealtro That's a pretty good deal to be fair. I have Signature, Sports, Cinema, Netflix, HD at £55 at the moment and best they have offered so far is £78 for the same. I'd probably take it if they offered me my package for £60.
Any reason why you have both HD and Ultra HD? I've only ever had HD so not sure if some channels only have HD and others UHD?
By the way, anyone else bizarrely getting stuck with the ROI site when logging into Sky from Edge Browser? The flag at the bottom won't change to UK for me and is stuck on Ireland. Everything is fine if I log in via Chrome. Strange, only started today.
UHD was really only for Sky Sports + F1! … to me it makes a good enough difference to pay the extra £2 to please the eyes more. (if you have a TV that supports UHD)
Looking back, maybe the deal is actually not too bad. It did take me having to disconnect from sky...then calling back to get it. The agent did ask if I still had the Sky boxes, and said if we did its even better (I think they offer a better deal if you haven't sent them back).
Not sure about the edge browser, I only ever use Chrome!

Think Sky make it up as they go along. As far as I can tell Sky Signature normal price is £32.00, HD is normally £8, Cinema is normally £12, Sky Sports - Complete Pack normally £30.00, HD normally £8.00 and Sky Sports HD normally £6.000

I was previously paying £117 for Sky's ultimate package (Movies, Cinema, Multiscreen, Netflix Premium, 1GBPS Broadband etc) 1 x Sky Q and 2 x Multiroom Boxes.
We decided we'd not renew sky and set the policy to cancel 2-3 months ago.
I took out a broadband contract with OneStream, set to start when our broadband ended (1GBPS Fiber) for £35 a month, over 12 months
As of last Friday, our TV contract officially ended and I received the packaging to return our sky boxes.
I decided to give sky a call this morning, they offered the following including the upcoming price rise %.ertainly no where near the best deal.
I was advised that they could of added Cinema for £7 but I did not take it up. We probably used Cinema twice throughout our 18 month contract. It was just a "nice to have".
The plan is to call back near the end of the cool off period and try to haggle the price more (this has worked the last two times I've done it).
Failing that, will just to let contract end again and look at other options!
Luckily we was able to let the sky contract end (the only thing we needed was broadband which switched over to OneStream seamlessly).
Frustrating you had to let it go that far to get competitive pricing.
When I called up, I think I stated "cancel contract" on the automated voice IVR then got through to UK retentions. He tried finding a good deal but it was really rubbish pricing. He then put me through to another team who then gave me the above deal.0 -

For anyone else looking at these prices though you can get all of these TV packages for less.0 -
So we're in our cancellation period and called up today to discuss a deal. We agreed to £116 a month for our new deal and they said they've applied it to our account. When I look at our future bills online it's showing as £104 each month (April/May/June)....on looking at the details it looks like the discounts are better than what they told us on the phone, it's not missing anything. Obviously it's working in our favour but can they take these discounts off us now they're showing? Do you think the bills are not including the April increase and it'll go up at some point? It does say 'estimated' next to each month.0
