The best deal I got was over the phone, speaking to someone in the UK team. I canceled and let the service cut off.

A few days later I gave them a call and spoke to a really nice lady who managed to get us:

    - Signature
    - Cinema
    - HD
    - Multiroom
    - A second multiroom box free of charge
    - No admin fee

    For £30 a month.

You have to be prepared for your service to disconnect. When you speak to them, make it very clear that you are not bothered whether you stay with them or not. Outline from the start that you are looking to pay less than what you currently pay, otherwise you'll just go to Virgin/Freesat/Freeview.

Of course they want to retain your business, they will just try and call your bluff and hope you cave earlier than they do!

I think it may also depend on what offers they have on at the time. I negotiated just after Christmas so think they had a few deals on too.

dont suppose you can provide a breakdown for each piece of the package that makes up the £30. I was cut off last night, phoned winback team just now and was offered the following for the parts of the deal you have, these are also the april onwards prices for me, are yours that aswell or iis it £30 then + 6.7% from april onwards? cheers

    signature - £21.50
    cinema - £7
    HD - £5
    Multiroom - £10

    Sure, this is it:

thanks for the info, can you remember roughly how many days after you were cut off before you phoned? thinking I should probably wait another couple before trying again and see if my offer improves

I'm looking to get something done today as my sky TV and Broadband is out of contract.

    I'm paying

    Signature - £31.40
    Broadband Super fast - £39.5
    Total = £70.90

I've called a few times but not getting anywhere near prices that are mentioned here.

Maybe as I haven't got HD. UHD, Sports, Cinema, multi room etc.

If I put in a 30 day notice for cancellation would that also affect my broadband or should I Sort broadband out separately?

I'm off work today so need to call them today.

How did you get on? I'm looking to do exactly the same today while I have a day off too.

Can't find a single option for Live Chat. I prefer live chat as I have been promised so many things over the phone only for it to fall on its backside. With Live Chat I get a copy of what is said.

I've tried the mobile text option but keep getting a message to say:
'Hi, it's Sky. This contact option is currently not in use. To reach one of our experts, please visit online to find the correct details: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/contacting-sky'
I didn't get round to it as noone replied with. Suggestion.
I got round to calling tonight.

Spoke to someone in India first,
I asked to cancel TV and they say will try and get better price for me.

    Currently its SKY Q
    Signature - £31.40
    Superfast BB- £39.50
    Total - £70.90

In April this will rise to
    Signature - £35.45
    Superfast BB- £43.00
    Total - £78.45

The lady on the phone offered
    Signature - £31.50
    Superfast BB- £38.00
    Total - £69.50

I declined this and asked to cancel. She said she can put me through to someone else and it might be a wait - it was about 7:45pm.

The next lady was from the UK.
    She offered
    Signature - £25.45 + £10 admin
    Superfast BB- £34.00 +£10 admin
    Total - £59.45 +£20 admin
This is for 18 month contract and avoid April price rise.

I asked to think about it -its £10 less than what I pay now and they could not get rid of the admin fee. The admin adds £1.11 per month.

I commented that a new customer can get the phone and BB and TV for £39 - they said this is stream and I have Sky Q.

I will call tomorrow and put a cancellation in for TV and see how it goes after this.

I just got off the phone with them.

1st man was in India offered
    £63.50 total

then with Sky Cinema offered £64.

I declined and was put through to a lady in Scotland
    She offered me
    Signature - £24
    BB - £30
    Total - £54
    No admin fee
With a price freeze for April.

I declined this and put cancellation in for TV.

It will cancel on 20th March.

Lets see what  offers I get from here.
I had a call today from an 0800 number and said was they TV loyalty team.

I had a cancellation for TV and they made an offer of £15 off.
    Down to £19.

They could only take £5 off broadband so refused that as it's out of contract at the moment.

The man from Sheffield said he would have to put a £10 admin fee too.

So for 19 for signature and 39.50 for broadband.

I will call for the internet another day.

My Sky contract ended on Jan 1st - they priced themselves out of the market with their increases.
i had a try out of just using terrestrial and web-based services, but it wasn't the greatest experience, including switching to the Firestick or AppleTV to watch things, signing in, etc. - all a bit disjointed.
Based on the TV/Firestick/AppleTV issues pus the annoyances of online on-demand services I decided I wanted to decide when to watch things and looked at Freeview recorders.
My Sky service was Sky Q, so I have the broadband LNBs which meant my options were pretty limited (unless I downgraded them), so I bit the bullet and went and bought a Freeview 2TB recording box, which allows me to record stuff to watch at my leisure or even just if I think it might be interesting sometime; it also has the mainstream apps in-situ so I'm not switching devices.
Overall, I'd say the Freeview box's user interface isn't quite as good as the Sky Q one, but it's not bad either.
So, no plans to go back to Sky.

My renewal is up in a few months. I already know I'll be dropping a number of the channels (I'd be moving away from Sky wholesale if I thought my wife could put up with a mix of devices rather than everything through the Sky Q box) but I already know that I'll get a better deal by moving broadband elsewhere and getting cashback via one of the cashback sites.

I'm also on a mission to only renew with companies who don't do CPI+x% increases within contract across broadband, mobile etc. That means going with the smaller players, but customer service is hit-and-miss no-matter where you go nowadays.

So, for broadband, definitely check whether switching providers with cashback will be better for you.
  • Is there a direct number for the win back team? (Or is it just retentions?)

I was disconnected yesterday. No contact from them yet.

I accepted a deal yesterday, was told that their manager was in a good mood so I had a special discount. It's free from price increase.

I think includes everything except sport & BB (just signed with Onestream 80 @ £20.00/m (with £69 cashback tracked through Quidco))

After seeing other's deals, I may have been a bit hasty.
