I suspect they don't have to justify it, but have to do it since so many people are just removing the cinema, sports etc add-ons, and moving tothe basic package, because of their inflated renewal price.tt2505 said:
Absolutely ridiculous rise, how can they justify that! The fact that narks me is the price war they have within themselves for the same product, but different customers 🤬Slalom said:Signature full price going up from 29 to 36.50 which is a massive 25%.0 -
I cancelled, looked in all the usual places for a better deal, asked for the Sky Stream, Netflix, broadband for £39. I was told that was only for new customers who would have set up costs, but that's not the case.
A couple of days later a call centre agent, in India, said he could only look for better deals if he un-cancelled my package. He still couldn't find anything acceptable. I left it un-cancelled for a few days while I looked around.
Meanwhile I got an offer through for the broadband I have now at £25. After a couple of days I phoned the number on the email to accept the broadband offer and to cancel TV. This time I got a lovely young man in Derby. He said he couldn't cancel TV but put me through to someone who could. I think that was back to India. That agent couldn't help so I asked to cancel TV. Eventually he put me through to cancellations, and I got a lovely Scottish voice, who is based near me. We had a lovely conversation. He was full of apologies that he couldn't give me the £39 Stream offer. Best he could do was over £50. So I cancelled TV and ensured that my broadband is still £25 and won't be disconnected.
I've had a couple of emails since then with nothing worth considering.
I spoke to a lovely young man at the Sky stand in the shopping centre. He suggested that the day after TV is disconnected I can visit the stand and sign up for Stream and make the total for broadband and TV the same as the package I asked for a month ago.
I've looked a bit more into Stream. I can't record but can add shows to my Playlist and they will be there as soon as they are available, sometimes before actual broadcast. The channel numbers are basically the same as on SkyQ. The channels not available on Stream aren't important enough to pay an extra £25.2 -
im cut off from sky in under 48 hours now and have received no emails/texts/phone calls with offers for a new contract which is surprising as ive been a customer for over 20 years1

24 years with Sky TV. Always managed to negotiate a decent package each year, till now.FUrake said:im cut off from sky in under 48 hours now and have received no emails/texts/phone calls with offers for a new contract which is surprising as ive been a customer for over 20 years
I eventually managed to get a decent deal on broadband, but TV is going on 3rd March. Once it's gone I'll look at Sky Stream. They won't let me move from SkyQ or Stream at present without charging £35-40

this number seems to be the retentions department so will likely be another crap offer, I believe I cant access the winbackteam until my pics are actually cut off0 -
I’ve been ‘cut off’ since Monday & received no email or phone call as yet! Do you happen to know the number for the win back team?FUrake said:
