Cancelled in December and now disconnected after rejecting two offers during the notice period - the second worse than the first. Hoping they’ll make one final bid to keep me. Heard nothing so far. Was hoping for a deal that comes close to the Virgin packages currently available but they’re not within £10 per month of matching those so far. Other than sport I could easily do without the whole thing and just go catch-up only via the smart TV, switching services on and off monthly as required.  That might be the route I go down now. Seems to me Sky is little more than a service for bringing programmes neatly together in one place these days so the price has definitely got to be right. The only disappointment is the loss of the ability to record some programmes.
This is exactly how I’m seeing it!

i don’t know what they are up to at the moment. I have an automatic ‘discount’ of £5 a month attached to my account for when my contract is up (didn’t ask for it). Tried to re-negotiate on the phone and they couldn’t give me any other discounts.

I found a new customer offer for Stream (I’m currently on Q) and broadband for £40, which is about the amount I pay for Q and Broadband each. Called up to see if I could switch to Stream and get that, and told no because I’m not new. But there was no negotiation there, it feels like they have lost all feeling for helping out. Original plan was to ditch the tv and keep the broadband, so i might just have to.
The £5 "discount" will be for an "in contract" discount which (I think) remains even when out of minimum term as you're still "in contract" as a rolling monthly deal with one months notice to cancel. You're only out of contract once it's turned off.

I've posted another thread on this forum regarding Sky's April increases (Signature going up £2.50 a month). Worth noting for anyone wanting to stay with them and negotiating now as prices in contracts aren't fixed.

If you agree a new contract is there a cooling off period if you change your mind?

From my conversations with them, I never had much of an impression that they were serious about negotiating a sensible deal, gave up contacting them, deal expired after 17 years with them, can't honestly say I'm missing them all that much.

well it looks like I'm going to have to let my sky cancel/cut off, I'm coming to the end of my 31 day cancellation notice, my pics cut off on the 17th, I've spoken to the live chat twice and uk retentions team twice on the phone, all 4 times the price they quoted me wasn't even close to what I have been paying last 24 months and simply too expensive, I've been a customer for 21 years and am a diamond level VIP customer but they wont budge at all, hardest negotiations ive ever had, the lady in retentions even spoke to her manager and no joy, she says "the business dont offer those types of discounts anymore".  So my next plan is to let the sky get turned off and pray the winback team get in contact with me to offer a better deal.  Wondering how long other people had to wait for the winback team and what method they used to contact, phone call/text/email?

    cheers
  • Thanks, good for a benchmark.  That adds up to £50 though, so careful to what they've signed you up to !

Sky sports was meant to be £15 didn’t notice I’d put £14

I waited til I was cut off for a couple of days and rang the number on the bottom of an offer email I received from sky during my notice period.

It was straight through to the win back team. Number I used was 03337594540

I'm looking to get something done today as my sky TV and Broadband is out of contract.

    I'm paying

    Signature - £31.40
    Broadband Super fast - £39.5
    Total = £70.90

I've called a few times but not getting anywhere near prices that are mentioned here.

Maybe as I haven't got HD. UHD, Sports, Cinema, multi room etc.

If I put in a 30 day notice for cancellation would that also affect my broadband or should I Sort broadband out separately?

I'm off work today so need to call them today.
