Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

Heard nothing more in the 3 days after the cancellation date, other than a message saying the package for the Sky Q box return is on its way. Decided to give their retention team one more try. It's good news these days, I think, that you can unbundle Netflix as that's an immediate money saver for someone like me who doesn't need it all the time. Happy to switch it on and off as required through my smart TV, along with other subscription services. Ended up at £36 per month on a TV only 18 month contract:
Sky Signature £19
Sky HD Free
Sky Sports Complete £15
Sky Sports HD £2
As streaming Sky Sports in HD via NOW would generally cost £32.99 tied in for 6 months and £40.99 beyond that, seems a good deal for the added benefit of the Sky Signature channels and a recordable box. Got there in the end!1 -
Futuristic said:We were paying £22/mo for Signature + HD, went on live chat got put through to loyalty team who after some going around matched our existing with £10 admin fee. Refused to pay admin fee then offered it for £21/mo (£16 + £5) with £10 admin fee but save more since 18 mo contract0

Just getting nowhere with them, will just do Virgin stream box.
The pricing is honestly farcical, it just feels like they haven't cottoned on to the fact that they have less pricing power than ever.
EDIT just to add I was "offered"
Signature £19
Sky Sports HD £13
Sky Cinema £12
Sky HD £6
Ultra HD £3
Multiscreen £12
Netflix Premium £15
Total £80
Previous renewal was £56 I think which went up to £66 with last year's price increases0 -

have been with sky for 15 years and my bill has gone from £85 - £128 in 12 months. Next months bill was going to be even higher at £148.
This was for
Sky signature,
ultimate tv add on (Netflix)
sky sports - complete pack
tnt sports
sky cinema
multiscreen
HD & UHD.
I tried to negotiate with them as the previous deals ended and was told first that by taking sky broadband I could save a whole £5 a month needless to say, I didn’t sign up for that special deal.
So I waited till I was within my 31 days notice period and told them I want to cancel.
was expecting at least an offer to retain my business but didn’t get one.
The advisor sounded like they had just fallen out of bed & all this was a terrible inconvenience to them.
I received my packaging to send back my equipment 2 days later.
After a week or so I received an email that reduced sky signature but everything else was normal price, I didn’t respond.
After another week I received a phone call telling me they were sorry to see me go but with the deal they had especially for me I would no doubt cancel the cancellation .
I awaited this fantastic offer with bated breath and slight feelings of maybe I’m not so special after the advisor got my name wrong 3 times.
For everything I did have they would do it for £109 a month - I declined.
Received another call on Saturday to entice me back £99 a month - I declined.
I now have 14 days to the end of my contract and service is cancelled.
I am astonished at the lack of interest from sky of retaining me as a customer, the customer service has been shocking, most interaction I have had has been with very half hearted advisors and I doubt now I’m going to get a deal that will be any good.
Sky seem to truly not care about losing customers.

Cancelled on 17th, win back team called back on 19th.
Offered signature, sports, tnt plus he for £71, but wanted £50 re signing fee too. Package full price is £100.
Refused - Sky are getting greedy with prices. Only have it for the football.2 -
Most of these posts don't mention broadband.
I currently pay £79 and am out of contract and price will be going up to £87 in April. I currently have Sky Q with Sky Signature, Sky Broadband Superfast 80, and Sky Talk Anytime.
The best offer I had was £65, so I cancelled 3 days ago and nobody got back to me, no offers via email, app, nor tv. Now I am speaking to the Win Back team but still only £64. But I have spoken to different advisors, one took money of Broadband but tv was higher and the other guy did it the other way around.
1st guys offer:
Sky signature £26 (£34)
Sky BB superfast £27.50 (£39)
Sky Talk Anytime £11.50 (£13.50)
Sky go 0.00
£64.50
2nd guy
Sky Signature £19
Sky BB superfast £34.50
Sky Talk Anytime £11.50
Sky go 0.00
£65.00
So I said why cant you combine the vest of both si that
Sky Signature £19
Sky BB superfast £27.50
Sky Talk Anytime £11.50
Sky go 0.00
£58
A different advisor seemed to say yes to mine but he had to check, I also said I had to check. I went on again and say they didnt agree or rather it wasn't an offer made by them. I would accept the £58 one but they keep saying no BB needs to be £34.50, why does it when they are offering it for less £19 to new customers?
I have a question, I live with my daughter can she start as a brand new customer and take advantage of the offers?

I posted in phone section my experience with Sky Mobile, basically they did not want to price match or even haggle it seems.
I was paying £6 a month, previously when they were prepared to do a deal they reduced to £4.50.
They recently sent me an email saying my price was going up to £8, yes a 33% increase!
I went to their website and tariff showed £6 option gone, there was one for £8 for 4gb but that disappeared the next day but amazingly returned when cookies deleted.
I do not fall for this fake scarcity so I called them and they tried to upsell me a TV Package, they somehow said I would be better off with TV but I was not having any of it so I got myself a PAC code and will take up MSE deal on SIM under £4.
I don't know if this is a company wide practice that has spread to SkyTV but I did find that if you call in the morning and speak to a UK rep in retentions you get a more polite person than when you get the call centre in India. Honestly they are as rude as the scammers who call and tell me my McAfee has run out, my computer is full of viruses and I have been charged £55 by Amazon and am due a refund. Honestly, they seem to have a total disdain for us.
How people can spend the numbers quoted in this thread is beyond me, even some of my family who have over £200k coming into their household have dumped Sky because of their prices.
When I had Sky Broadband it was in the days when they would sell a deal on MSE for £100 and even £50 for a year, when those deals expired I cancelled, they would not negotiate so I left. Retentions department called me a week after I was fully out but I found a better solution by then.
It is fine, Sky seem to have just decided they only want customers with deep deep pockets, now if you are in that demographic pay them if you can afford it and you need their product.0 -

Apple will include a family TV deal of one person in the family has Apple Music
Paramount and others are always making offers as are Prime I think.
The TV sticks above all require internet connection, but you can load more channels than you could want, including YouTube, C4, C5 and ITV catch up as well Pluto and other free to air plus still load offers for Netflix, Disney, Paramoint.
I have a second Roku stick, nobody is charging me multi-room, who falls for the nonsense of paying for a separate room. You also don't have to send back the Roku stick if you unsubscribe from an app or channel, you just delete it and try something.
Some pay for sport but Sky ruined F1 when the BBC sold their soul, I used to be a massive fan of F1 but now not even bothered to watch it at friends or family places.
I guess there is one born every minute or people simply have a different concept of value.
