rakkibeth said:We renegotiated last week, and I was shocked to find 3 admin fees on my bill when I checked it today! They said NOTHING about these admin fees. Surely they aren't allowed to do that? I wouldn't have renewed if they'd told me about those! Not happy... what can I do?xx0

Cancelled in December and now disconnected after rejecting two offers during the notice period - the second worse than the first. Hoping they’ll make one final bid to keep me. Heard nothing so far. Was hoping for a deal that comes close to the Virgin packages currently available but they’re not within £10 per month of matching those so far. Other than sport I could easily do without the whole thing and just go catch-up only via the smart TV, switching services on and off monthly as required. That might be the route I go down now. Seems to me Sky is little more than a service for bringing programmes neatly together in one place these days so the price has definitely got to be right. The only disappointment is the loss of the ability to record some programmes.1

I am on Sky Q with Signature, Sports, TNT and HD.
18 month contract started off at £54 now £58 which ends next month.
Was told going up to £100 but would do £75 which I got by email unprompted as contract was ending. I expect price would increase to nearly £80 with the price increase likely to happen in April 2024.
Did a live chat and was only offered £78 that was with £3 off TNT which wasn’t included before.
Ive cancelled and will take my chances, I dropped Sky Cinema 18 months ago to take TNT instead, I don’t miss it as have Netflix and Prime anyway.Always managed to negotiate a deal for years, once went 3 months without, will only return for a very good price. However Sky didn’t try very hard to retain me today like they have done previously.0 -
I was paying £69/month for Signature, Multiroom, HD, UltraHD+Netflix, contacted them for a better deal early December and was offered £50, still wasnt happy, so started cancellation. Zero contact from Sky during my cancellation period, so it was switched off a couple of weeks ago. The box arrived for me to send back all the gear, so I thought I would have one more go at a deal before I shipped it all back. I went onto webchat and spoke to someone who transferred me to the retentions webchat people who she said were always very busy so I might have to wait a while for a response. Only took a few minutes and they were very helpfull, I told them I was after a better deal and would be open to taking the movies as well if the price was right. First offer was for £57, which I turned down, then they came back with £51.50 which I accepted, they even threw in another Multiroom box for free. Breakdown as below, probably not a stellar deal, but I thought it was decent enough. A Netflix subsricption would cost me £18/month, so thats an extra £33.50/month which for the channels we use and the convenience of recording, multiroom etc, is worth it for me.
Signature £18
Multiscreen £7.50
HD £5
Ultra HD £2
Cinema £8
Netflix Premium £11

I guess it is still necessary to turn on the various marketing options during cancellation so they can get in touch (not saying they will, but obviously they need your permission to do so).

I came on here because my Sky package was out of contract but I was paying £30 a month so left it at that for a year. They then said that despite being out of package, they had applied an additional discount which expired after 12 months making my package £50 a month. Unhappy they didn't actually inform me before increasing my price but that's another story
I called them to haggle and they could only give me £49 so I cancelled. This was last week
I received a telephone call today and they initially offered me a total of £38 a month. I said that I have seen it being offered cheaper and she said she might be able to get it down further (she openly admitted that the deal she'd given me of £38 a month wasn't the cheapest) but she wouldn't be able to offer any further discount without reinstating my package first. I didn't necessarily want to leave Sky so I agreed.
She reinstated the package and managed to get the price down even further as per the following with an 18 Month contract:
Sky Signature: £14.50 (initially 21)
HD: £6 (initially £5)
Multiscreen: 10 (initially £12)
She also did say there was an admin fee of £10 but she applied a credit of £15 to the account to waive this which brings my total price down to £29.50ish a month
Hope this helps someone. She was really friendly and personable.0 -
I gave them my 31 day cancellation notice on the 9th, haven't heard anything back yet although my contract doesn't expire until the 18th feb0

The local aerial installers must be doing a roaring trade as a result of Sky over doing the increases.
