I'm looking to get something done today as my sky TV and Broadband is out of contract.

    I'm paying

    Signature - £31.40
    Broadband Super fast - £39.5
    Total = £70.90

I've called a few times but not getting anywhere near prices that are mentioned here.

Maybe as I haven't got HD. UHD, Sports, Cinema, multi room etc.

If I put in a 30 day notice for cancellation would that also affect my broadband or should I Sort broadband out separately?

I'm off work today so need to call them today.

How did you get on? I'm looking to do exactly the same today while I have a day off too.

Can't find a single option for Live Chat. I prefer live chat as I have been promised so many things over the phone only for it to fall on its backside. With Live Chat I get a copy of what is said.

I've tried the mobile text option but keep getting a message to say:
'Hi, it's Sky. This contact option is currently not in use. To reach one of our experts, please visit online to find the correct details: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/contacting-sky'

Well, it’s finally happened today, our Sky TV contract is over.
multi room & apps are no more, although because we still have the ‘Q’ equipment I’m hoping we can still watch, record & pause until the packaging arrives to return it?!
As others have previously posted, in over 20 years as a Sky customer this has been the absolute worst negotiating, they simply aren’t budging! Once out of contract in January our £31.50 (signature, netflix, multi room) bill increased by 50% & of course would rise again circa 6% in April. I know it sounds petty, but we rarely watch any of the Sky channels, more Netflix & Prime (which we have through Amazon account)  £10+ a week just to have the functionality to pause & record seems OTT 😳

With broadband you just choose a new provider and they deal with it all. If you put cancellation in for that with Sky I think it does something to the line and you can't sign up with anyone else. With your TV package you can put in for cancellation.

    Hi.

Thanks. So if I ask for cancellation it should be just for the TV. Not broadband?

correct, tell them you are giving them the 31 days cancellation notice for cancelling the sky tv, but dont cancel the broadband, as the person before said, if you arrange broadband with another company they then deal with sky to take over the broadband

The TV service can be switched back on within hours if you change your mind (provided you haven't returned the boxes) but once a cancellation of the broadband is "in the system" you can find that your service gets cut off for a time from days to weeks due to the systems that Sky /Openreach use !

The best deal I got was over the phone, speaking to someone in the UK team. I canceled and let the service cut off.

A few days later I gave them a call and spoke to a really nice lady who managed to get us:

    - Signature
    - Cinema
    - HD
    - Multiroom
    - A second multiroom box free of charge
    - No admin fee

    For £30 a month.

You have to be prepared for your service to disconnect. When you speak to them, make it very clear that you are not bothered whether you stay with them or not. Outline from the start that you are looking to pay less than what you currently pay, otherwise you'll just go to Virgin/Freesat/Freeview.

Of course they want to retain your business, they will just try and call your bluff and hope you cave earlier than they do!

I think it may also depend on what offers they have on at the time. I negotiated just after Christmas so think they had a few deals on too.
