Called the main line, put through to Retentions. Useless, Couldn't offer me near the recent offers on here. And wouldnt let me speak to the winback team as "You need to have left us to speak to them". Cancelled and hoping for that callback everyone seems to get.

    Offer:
    Signature: £24
    Sky Sports: £20
    Sports HD: £6
Cinema: £9 (This one seemed ok)

This was what I got after disconnecting for a week (£30 a month total). The kids pack is a free for 4 months offer.

I was fully prepared to leave, and made this very clear to the agent. I believe it helps if you don't have broadband with them either.

  • It is only once I left Sky, as I did back in May, that I realise how little I watched actual Sky content and what poor value it was. Once all the box sets are exhausted there’s not that much original content worth watching and way too many nothing channels to choose from. Football I can watch easily via other means on the odd occasion there’s a match I need to see. Most good shows today are now on the other streaming services. An old freesat box, a 4k firestick, a Netflix sub and plenty of free trials on Apple, Disney and Prime have given us much better value for much less than Sky have ever offered. For years I thought I wouldn’t manage without Sky…now I say, try life without Sky, you may just like it…

...a lot of properties probably still have their aerial setup in place, so Freeview could also be an option (or if not watching/recording TV as it is broadcast or BBC iPlayer then the TV licence can be binned as well).

2 free Vue cinema tickets per month are an included benefit of being a Sky Cinema customer (I am a Sky customer, with the Sky VIP app, but I do not get these, as I do not have Sky Cinema currently)

  • Our’s is due to cancel on 4th. Had a text this morning to call the Winback team and was offered the following:

Sports, Cinema and Signature for £40 per month. My current deal is £45. They wanted a £20 admin fee too so I said I’d think about it. Part of me wants to keep it as we’ve been customers for 22 years, but on the other hand, it’s £40 I’d rather not give to Sky. Might just continue with the cancellation and see how we get on.

Bet they want extra for HD on top - They tried to get me to accept an offer last year for Signature/Sport which looked too good - and was as they wanted to bung an extra £12 pm on top for HD !!

My contract ends on 4th Jan.  I have the full package (incl multi room and broadband).  They offered me £73 for the TV and £27 for the ultrafast BB.
