Honestly guys, if you are not fussed about letting it cancel for a week or two, you will get much better discounts. Just go in with the mindset that you are ready to cancel and see what they can do. Worst case you reconnect for what they previously offered you.

As mentioned, before my service was cut off they were offering me Sig, Cinema, Multiroom and HD for £49/pm. Then it dropped to £45/pm. I let it cancel and got it for £30/pm with an extra box thrown in and no admin fee.
How long are people generally waiting for a call back?

I didn't get any call backs during the notice period. I think I called them once but was not really offered a good deal. In the end I called during the 1st week after the Sky shut down in response to a TXT msg when I was offered a good deal. At the time, I had already been sent cardboard flatpacks and was mentally prepared to send the equipment back.

Family member in notice period accepted Signature £18 Sports £15 Sports HD £2 HD £5 Netflix Standard £8, £48 in total.  Think if he let it go could have probably saved another fiver but he happy with it and £11pm less than he was going to be paying plus he only had one sports channel.
  • Signature £15
    Sky Sports in HD £11
    Sky Cinema £12
    Sky HD £6
    Sky Kids £3.5
    Ultra HD £1
    Netflix boost to premium £11
    Sky (Q) Multiscreen £8.5

It brings your total to £68

Won't budge on the stupid £20 admin fee.

Accepted the above offer, many online chats/phone calls ranged from £88 down to £70.

Today was the lowest have managed at £68. Was due to be switched off on the 24th December.

    £20 admin fee?
    It's gone up by £10
I will not pay a fee for nothing

  • I've just agreed a new deal for my Sky.
I had cancelled approx 3 weeks ago and secured the below on chat after a couple of discussions.

    - Sky Signature standard cost is £34 but you'll pay just £17 a month (18 months contract)

    - Sky sports complete pack in HD standard cost is £38 but you'll pay £16 a month(for 18 month contract)

    - HD is normally £9 but you'll get it for £6

    - UHD is £4 but you'll pay £1

    - Multiscreen usually £15 but you'll pay at £2.50 (for 18 months contract)

    - Netflix Premium [4 screens] is normally £15 but you will pay £11

    Total: £53.50 per month.

I did have to agree to £10 admin fee (though this was reduced from originally being £20).

Although I was targeting/hoping for nearer £50 per month I'm still happy to have this price including netflix premium for the next 18 months.

Currently paying £66, which I already wasn't too happy with after last year's increase, for pretty much everything apart from Kids and TNT.

Their "offer" was about £112 a month, easiest cancellation decision ever.

I think this time will be one where I end up going through with the cancellation, which I've done before.

So called today as out of contract, bill now £100.50 a month.

First offer was £103 for sky glass over 48 months advised this wasn’t what I was looking for and was expecting to reduce not increase costs, big marketing blurb about benefits of sky glass. Not interested as Virgin currently doing offer for £62 a month for similar package.
     Currently get Sky signature
    sky sports complete pack
    sky sports HD
    sky go extra
Broadband And talk was pay £75.

Told them I wanted to cancel as can get Virgin bigger sports combo which appears to offer the channels I require for £62 a month,

Passed to retentions who advised best deal I could get was £81 plus £10 admin fee so have given my 31 days notice today.

chances of a call back offering better ?

I’d prefer to stay with Sky but more than happy to give Virgin a go as broadband is faster as well. I think this might be the end of my 23 years with Sky, I mean they are £19 a month more expensive and are also wanting £10 admin fee…..

Going to give it until 3rd when I intend to place my order with Virgin, probably means Sky offer me a deal on 4th…. Actually think it will be last week of contract, but I suspect it will be too late by then.

Having been with Virgin on 1GB I can tell you their promised broadband speeds are not as great as they claim. It certainly was never 1GB and always a lot low towards the latter 6 months of the contract. I have now cancelled and moved to Vodafone and I get faster speeds there! The last renewal offer I had from Virgin was for £58 and currently I am paying £33 (£38 if you don't have a mobile contract with them).

Regarding Sky, it all depends on how desperate you sound to them. If you can hold out until the end of the notice it may prove better. My bill had risen to £90+ and I was finally offered (search for my posts) £47 which I have taken.
