I feel the same - it was hard for me to convert from HD to Q - With it's missing "reminders etc" but from recording to streaming is just one big NO.

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.
  • I've been trying to call the retentions team, but none of their phone numbers are working. How do you get to speak to a human being without going round and round with their virtual assistants?

Sky have had an issue apparently with their phone systems in the last day or two. Try the chatbots when it's open (not sure of their times) and put in 'cancellation', that'll get you through to someone.

I tried to renegotiate a better deal for Sky Q when they announced the latest price increase. I had zero luck neither on their online chat or on the phone, not even an offer to switch to Sky Stream. As my Sky Q Ultimate + multiroom was already discounted they advised I was on the best price possible…still not happy with this and the price increase I gave them my 31-day cancellation notice, hoping this would trigger a better deal down the line via e-mail or phonecall. 31 days came and went and Sky Q was cut off on the 19th April.

I logged onto my online account as I still have broadband with them and I just curiously went onto the Sky Stream purchase page and the £38/month price for existing customers was reduced to just £15/month, this is for Sky Stream Ultimate with Netflix, disney, hbo, discovery etc. granted with ads, but for only £15/month I'm happy to give it a go. I know it won't be the same as Q without the recording facilities etc, but these days most things we watch are on demand anyway. Set the puck up late last night, will have a good play about tonight.

Only thing to contemplate now is whether we go for the multiroom/whole home for another £15/month 😬

Since it has only been 3 days, I am extremely surprised that sky let you sign up as a "new" customer - but I stand to be corrected !!

They must be desperate for new customers…….

If I cancel TV but keep broadband, do I have to wait 18 months before starting a new TV package? Because I wouldn't then be a new customer, I'd be an existing one. That will be my situation. I have broadband on a rolling 1-month contract, and have just cancelled TV Q which was going to cost £32 more per month.

I'm hoping Sky will get back to me with a better offer for Q now that I've given them my cancellation notice. But if not, and if I end up leaving Q for good, maybe I can switch to streaming.

I guess the same question would apply if I took a Sky SIM, and remained a Sky customer that way.

No, the two (or three with mobile) are separate and not related in that way. I've had Sky TV for 18 years and have just come back to Sky BB as a 'new' customer after 18 months with VM. That said the offer I took was via the Sky website rather than a 3rd party as the deal was better for me.

Are you on Sky Q or what ?

And you can't be on Signature AND Ultimate ….
