They were keen to give me sky q for no extra charges. Should I agree? Will i still be able to play the win back game when my contract expires in 18 months?
If you change to SkyQ they own the box and it has to be returned if you cancel
This was my worry. So they'll have much more leverage if I want to cancel to get a better deal in 18 months
Yes they do own the SkyQ box but it certainly doesn’t stop you renegotiating a deal when your contract expires.
If the worse comes to the worse - they will send you a label to return the equipment if you decide to leave.

I will be out of contract at the end of October, starting to look at what deals there might be. Do any of you have the broadband boost for £6 a month, is it worth it? Im trying to find ways of cutting costs but not quality

my contracts with sky are due to end soon and the renewal deal is rubbish. I've been looking at the new customer deals and they currently have broadband free for 9 months if you take out TV and Boradband on a 18 month contract. Does anyone know if i'll be able to sign a new broadband contract in 9 months and therefore pick up whatever offer they have on at that point and sign up to a new 18 month deal?

I've been a Sky customer for 15+ years and currently have the full package with Sports, Movies, Netflix, Disney and Paramount. However, there's very little that Sky itself offers that I can't now get from a combination of Freeview and the streaming services direct so decided to cancel. After an hour on hold they cancelled straight off the bat - no attempt to keep me whatsoever. It was all done and dusted in a matter of minutes! That was three weeks ago and not heard from them since (other than the standard confirmation emails). It wouldn't have made any difference as I'm determined to go, but does make you wonder if they are trying to phase out SkyQ in favour of Sky Stream.0

Glass/ Stream weren't even mentioned! He intends to look for a better deal on his broadband and move the service provided he can get a better deal elsewhere.
There must be a lot of subscribers happy to pay £120+ pm for Sky as they really seem to be happy to accept higher levels of churn to avoid discounting.0 -
I’m pretty sure you only get a good deal from Win Back after you cancel - negotiating with accounts / retentions & chat is a frustrating waste of time.1
