I had an email today from Sky saying my TV contract expires in October, but they've added "new offers" to my account which will run for another 12 months (but no new contract). This is what the new offer is, it's basically what I was paying whilst in contract:

    Sky Signature - £17.50
Ultimate TV Add on - £6
    Sky Kids - £4
    Sky Sports - Complete Pack - £23
    Sky Sports HD - £2
    Sky Cinema - £9
    Sky HD - £7
    Ultra HD - £4
    Multiscreen - £15

    Total - £87.50

This doesn't actually seem too horrendous from what I've read over the past few pages, and not being in contract is nice. Any thoughts appreciated, should I be trying to get it down more?

  • I was paying £34 per month for
    Sky Signature
    Ultimate Tv  (Netflix)
    HD Sports
then annual price rise took it to £39
Contract recently ended so I rang for best deal for same package and was offered £43.
I cancelled and yesterday after being disconnected called the ‘Win Back’ team on
    0333 759 4840.
Without any haggling I’ve got the same package now for another 18 months at £37.
    I’m happy with that.

Signature + Sports HD originally took out at £27 nearly 18 months' ago, 2023 price rise put it on £31. Would have gone to £72 shortly. Got an email today for another 12 months' out of contract at £39 per month which would be applied automatically.
Did read in the small print that if I cancelled the offer would be revoked. Also noticed the My Sky deal for the same was £52.

I don’t think they’re particularly doing you any favours.
if it was me I’d want at least another £20 reduction.
I would be surprised if you didn’t get a better offer if you cancelled!

In  my current contract it says phone the only way to give notice - is that still true; I thought OFCOM were going to address that? Also, can more than 31 days' notice be given so I don't have to make the phone call on the exact date to coincide with the end of the minimum term?
I gave more notice. I did it via email though and they arranged a time to phone me to confirm it. I just put in the date I wanted my contract to end. It's a minimum of 31 days notice, I've heard that some Sky CS staff don't accept more than 31 days on the phone though which is why I emailed. They should do though.

I have a lesser package than that -but I get Signature plus Sports ,all in HD for £43 pm so there must be another £15-20 discount in the total package
  • It took me the best part of 2 hours today, absolutely nothing when I called to cancel, went onto live chat with win back straight away and am now paying the same I was for the last 18 months
  • Current package

    Sky Signature: £21

    Ultimate TV: £5
    Sky Sports £18
    HD+UHD: £12

    Total: £56

They offered me a renewal deal of £72 a month which I'm obviously not accepting.

I am willing to cancel but refuse to pay anymore than I do today (ideally less).

My contract expires in a few weeks, so will call them to cancel and see what deal I get - fingers crossed!

They offered me £63 a month - cancellation pending and gone through. I'll wait and see for what offers I get and contact the Win Back team at some point too.

I decided to give Sky Stream a go.

Managed to get what I thought was a decent deal through Quidco:

Stream £23 a month (Entertainment, Netflix and HD) and Superfast Broadband £16 a month.

£95 Quidco cashback, £70 gift voucher and Sky will credit my account with £200 towards my BT cancellation fees.
How do you get the £200 credit from Sky for your canc fees?
