  • Currently under cancellation.
No phone calls so contacted them via chat (may have been connected to Win Back not sure)
All I want is TV (signature) but MUST have multiroom as I have a SkyQ mini box upstairs.
    Offered -
    Signature £18 (£34)
    Multiroom - £12 (£15)
    + £20 admin fee
I told them that Virgin had offered a cheaper deal with no admin fee (partly-true)
I said that I wasn’t paying the admin fee but they were insistent saying that the system wouldn’t remove it (or allow a credit)
In any case I REFUSED their offer - I’ll wait for a phone call or just manage without.
Another thing - chat is really slow - don’t hold your breath - it takes all day!
Got a phone-call from the Win Back team - £23 in total (Signature & Multi-room) + £10 admin (tried to get in removed - in the end lost the will to live & let it stand)

Accepted the deal as it was substantially cheaper than one on chat
It just confirms what we already knew - the best deals always come from the WIN BACK team AFTER you’ve cancelled!
Don’t waste your time with accounts / chat or retentions (it’s hours of your life you won’t get back).

The phone number they gave me was - 03337 594 840 - might be worth a call if you want to speed up the process.

    Hi All,

I got quoted £83 for the following:

    - Sky signature tv package
    - Sky HD
    - Sky multiroom
    - Superfast broadband + anytime

I have the old Sky+ boxes and am not interested in moving over to Sky Q. I cancelled the TV a couple of weeks back and got a text asking me to call them (
03337 594 840) but when i rang back they gave me the above for £89. I could not believe they asked me to call them to win me back and then quoted me a slightly higher price from when i cancelled. Needless to say i refused and will continue with the cancellation.

Any other tips anyone can suggest?
  • This is what they offered me. Broadband for £60!!! Anyone have any good deals recently? Who should i speak to? My contract is due for renewal.  Thanks

  • Just received the following offers, for 18 months, as I'm due to come to the end of my TV and broadband contracts. Obviously I think I will take the full fibre offer, as it's £1.50 pm cheaper than my existing FTC 80 broadband. Not sure what to do about TV - my current discounts will continue for 18 months - could I get cheaper?

    That’s a crazy price

    signature should be £19
    hd £4
    superfast broadband £21.50 or
    full fibre £24.00

Win Back did Sky Signature for £16 when I re-signed

  • Might be worth another call -

anyone have any success cancelling and getting a discount before they disconnect?  i was offered £14 discount, bringing my bill to £100 a month. I have been with SKY for 23 years. I have time to cancel as i am in contract.
  • I don’t think you get the best deal until you’ve actually cancelled ie given them notice to cancel.
Retentions / Chat may try and delay you - ‘Can I ask you about your viewing patterns?”, “How many people in your household use the internet.” - Tell them - you’re too busy!
They should contact you with a better deal - in the unlikely event that they don’t - you can always suspend the cancellation.
Call their bluff - loyalty means nothing - if anything it indicates you are willing to pay their inflated prices.

Just over a month to go before my contract is up and I do the cancellation dance with them again... and today I get an email saying they are extending my current offers for another year.

Well pardon my cynicism, but that just cements in my mind that I'm already paying too much (£89/month for TV only but basically everything they have) - I've attached a breakdown, would appreciate any suggestions of where there is 'fat' to target when I call them... specifically looking at BT Sport at £25! Signature also looks chunky but possibly because it has Netflix included?

If I could get this below £75 overall then I'd see it as a decent win...

    Thanks
    Arty

Just cancelled. As others have found, the letter they sent me promising to maintain my current discounts was a total lie - bills going up from £89 to £121 a month. Not overly optimistic I'm going to get a call back based on how they are currently behaving, wonder if they now see Q as a bit of a legacy product.

I won't shed any tears if I shift back to Virgin...
Well, an hour on live chat and we are back down to £89... wouldn't budge from there and frankly that's not good enough, especially with the price rises that are certain to come during the contract. So I'll sit it out a bit longer.

If I can get below £75 then I'll be happy enough.
Fair to say this has been the most excruciating renegotiation of the past 10 years. Sky reneged on the £89 on a subsequent call, and then on a chat (despite clear evidence that they had offered it), and only at one final go a day before disconnection did they finally honour the £89. And even now, my future billing looks wrong, but at least I have the contract in writing.

I probably should have just let them disconnect but it wasn't worth the earache from Mrs Arty.

So not the best result, and even that's not sorted yet, but it was my worst case starting point so I'll suck it up.
