Im about to try negotiate for my mums account as her contract has just come to an end. Can i do through live chat as her? or do i need to call and my mum give permission to discuss with me? She doesn't really want to talk with them.

You can do it through live chat  if you know all the relevant info that they will ask.  i.e  certain letters from pasword.... dob.... any other securty details she has set up. Sometimes they ask post code,,,  details of which bank account bill comes out of...but its all straightforward and if you say that you are her (and know all the details) there will not be a problem.

That time of year. Was paying £52. New price was something like £77! Really tough to get a deal. Got put through to retentions eventually via live chat accepted the following offer:

Not sure if this a good deal or not.  Had Sky Q but moved house and wasn’t allowed a dish so got offered Sky Stream

    Got the following

    Signature
    Cinema
    Sports
    Netflix
    UHD
In 2 rooms for £49 per month.  Is this a good deal or not?

I'm now out of contract and most of my offers have reverted back to full price. I gave notice the start of the month and they have said the very best they can offer is as follows:

Sky Signature and Sky Sports - £39
    HD/UHD - £9
    Ultimate + Netflix - £7
    Multiscreen - £12
BB - £28.50 (what I'm currently paying - said they can't better this apparently

I've quoted some of the deals to them that people have got on here and they're adamant this is the best they can do. Basically is this the best I can get or would people recommend me to try again with another advisor in a couple of days?

I'm not against letting the cancellation run and then taking out a new contract in my husbands name but I can't see Sky offering Q anywhere online, it all seems to be stream or glass which I don't want?

I can't comment on the deal as ive still got a few months to go before I haggle mine, but you can still get Sky Q online, its just a bit more hidden

Thanks, tried on a different browser, its still £96 as a new customer though so more than what I've been quoted. I did call Sky and managed to get by broadband down to £25 but that's it. Can't believe how hard they're making it now, its like they aren't bothered in the slightest.

Just over a month to go before my contract is up and I do the cancellation dance with them again... and today I get an email saying they are extending my current offers for another year.

Well pardon my cynicism, but that just cements in my mind that I'm already paying too much (£89/month for TV only but basically everything they have) - I've attached a breakdown, would appreciate any suggestions of where there is 'fat' to target when I call them... specifically looking at BT Sport at £25! Signature also looks chunky but possibly because it has Netflix included?

If I could get this below £75 overall then I'd see it as a decent win...

    Thanks
    Arty

Just cancelled. As others have found, the letter they sent me promising to maintain my current discounts was a total lie - bills going up from £89 to £121 a month. Not overly optimistic I'm going to get a call back based on how they are currently behaving, wonder if they now see Q as a bit of a legacy product.

I won't shed any tears if I shift back to Virgin...
Well, an hour on live chat and we are back down to £89... wouldn't budge from there and frankly that's not good enough, especially with the price rises that are certain to come during the contract. So I'll sit it out a bit longer.

If I can get below £75 then I'll be happy enough.
