By having a high “book” price it makes the discount appear to be big.

The only real thing wrong with this approach is, no matter how big the discount an item is only worth what you’re willing to pay for it, discount or no discount!!!!

Most people are more Value/price conscious than Sky give them credit for.

Very true, there are a small percentage of Sky customers who think they're getting a good deal still. They must be losing a lot of subscribers though. £5 for HD on an offer!! Plus Sky Go is mentioned as free when it's always been free 🤣
  • Thanks for being with me Julian. I managed to get some additional discounts for you from my manager and the details are below

Signature standard Price £34 discounted price for 18 months £21

Sky Sports standard Price £34 discounted price for 18 months £8 (dependency offer on having  cinema pack)

Sky Cinema standard Price £19 discounted price for 18 months £12

Sky HD standard Price £09 discounted price for 18 months £05

Sky UHD standard Price £04 discounted price for 18
    months £02

Sky Kids standard Price £06 discounted price for 18 months £02

Netflix standard Price £07 discounted price for 12 months £01

Multiscreen standard Price £15 discounted price for 18 months £10.00

There will be Admin Fee on £20.00 added to your next month bill

New total monthly costs will be £61.00

    How's that for you? :)

@julianlandeau Good you said no to that, Signature and Cinema can be a bit less, HD should be free, Multiscreen should be £7.50 max and no admin fee.

Should be, but where are these offers? Is anyone getting a good deal? This thread used to have lots more posts of deals I think.

The best I could get was sky signature for £19 for 18 months (17 last year) and that was after cancelling for a week or two. Much more difficult to haggle this year.

I think these poor winback offers are part of a wider scheme to push people onto sky stream and sky glass with full fibre becoming more readily available they’ll eventually stop selling sky q altogether.

Now tv is certainly more attractive than sky for things like entertainment and cinema it’s a bit pricey for the sports side of things but at least your not tied in to a contract.

After receiving a text message, I thought I'd give the winback chat one more chance until I'm cut off in a few days. The 'offer' of 77 pounds for all tv channels except the kids channels was significantly more expensive than the call back offer I received a few weeks ago! I really can't see them coming down to a reasonable 45 pounds per month. I can honestly say I'm done with sky now. If their strategy really is to push people onto glass and stream then it will surely backfire. The tv is budget quality at a high price and leaves you at the mercy of sky's continual price increases lest you want a useless tv. Stream Is just an overpriced firestick. OK, the loss of the premier league will be at a bit of a disappointment but not for the prices they are asking! Firestick with the odd month subscribed to now tv from now on I think!

There aren’t as many. I completely cancelled Cinema and Sports when I couldn’t get a decent deal. There are always other options for watching these anyway if needed. Perhaps if others didn’t accept anything offered and walked away from Sky there would be better deals available. Sky now keep sending me offers for Cinema and Sports but it’s too late, we don’t miss these (from them anyway  B))

Mine has now cancelled as it was about to go to £91+ a month.  Now waiting to return all the Sky Q equipment.  I tried to get a deal on a chat twice and the phone number on a text message they sent me 1 day before it cancelled.  Still the best they could do was a new 18 month contract:

Signature, Kids, Sports - Complete Pack, Cinema, Sports HD, HD, Multiscreen, Ultra HD - £78.50 (no admin fee)
OR without Kids £69 +£20 admin

I said I might be interested in Sky Stream, but they just offered to put me through to the Steam department, I couldn't be bothered in the end.  Just going to stick to freeview and apps on my firestick for now.
